Can anyone recommend a printer for ipad/iphone

need a couple of printers.. don't want to spend an arm and a leg...not really for photos mostly documents/pdfs/spreadsheets

Alcahamaga-
If initial cost is important, there is at least one AirPrint Inkjet model (HP D110 or B110) that is less than $100.  You may find it at a discount store for much less.
If total cost of ownership is important, then consider the AirPrint LaserJet model with the largest toner cartridges.  Cost per print will be lower than for a LaserJet with small cartridges, and MUCH lower than for Inkjet printers.
While a set of ink cartridges may print a hundred or so pages, a set of toner cartridges may print well over a thousand.
(Yes, you can save money by refilling your ink or toner cartridges.)

Can anyone recommended an app for excel spreadsheet. One that I can username iPad that can do the same functions as excel of desktop,or laptop ??

Thanks for the advice. Just don't want to waste money on apps trying to get the right on. Not looking to do too much, just add filters maybe create a pie chart. Will the app you mentioned give added sums at the end of the spreadsheet like it would on the windows version?

Can anyone recommend an app for downloading bank statements (.csv/.qif) directly on to my iPad that will allow me to analyse my money flow....no account management needed. I just need something v simple that can take my statement and produce graphs etc....thanks

1, Photos are stored within your computer's iTunes, you just use iTunes as a means for trasnferring them to the iPad. Connect your iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you want more control over the photos that you copy to the iPad (e.g. the ability to delete them directly on the iPad, re-order them etc) then you could consider a third-party photo-management app instead of the built-in Photos app e.g. Photo Manager Pro
2, options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents and Numbers for Excel spreadsheets.  And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
3, You first need an app on the iPad that supports the type of file that you want to copy to it - the iPad doesn't have a file system like a 'normal' computer, everything has to be associated with an app. As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

  • Can anyone recommend a process for moving just my OS and Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to the SSD?

I have an early 2011 MBP running Mountain Lion. I just removed the superdrive and added an SSD. I want to use it to boot from and also run Photoshop and Lightroom from. Can anyone recommend a process for moving my OS and those programs to the SSD?

I'm assuming your doing this because of data you don't want pernament on the SSD as they can' be scrubbed like hard drives can.
    Disconnect any other drives.
1: Format the SSD 1 partition, click the box, option GUID and OS X extended journaled as the format.
    2: Download Carbon Copy Cloner.
3: Clone your MacintoshHD partition to a blank powered external drive also formatted the same as above.
4: Hold option/alt key and boot the machine (wired or built in keyboard) and then select the clone to boot from,
5: Once in the clone, click it's drive name and change the name if it's the same as the OS X boot volume.
6: On the clone, head to System Preferences > Accounts and create a new Admin account.
7: If you need to move files between accounts on the clone, see this. Combine two+ Users Accounts on the same machine   (be careful that your selecting the correct clones other account)
8: Once your moving files on the clone is complete, then log into the new user account and delete the old user account.
9: Use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the clone to the SSD.
10: Use Disk Utiltiy to repair permissions on all drives.
The SSD should be moved to the HD slot and the HD to the optical slot and used as a file drive.
CCC has a option to not include certain folders like the other user account you don't want, however I tend not to recommend things that are not too far out of line with Apple's ways of doing things as it usually results in bad things occuring. Somewhere in OS X it's recorded of that other user account, so it might still show up in logins and such.
Also you may want to transfer some files to the other account, so that's why I recommend this method.
    Good Luck

  • Can anyone recommend plug-ins for vocals?

Can anyone recommend plug-ins for vocals? I'm looking for an average "radio" sound. How can I get that?
    Thanks
    Anya
imac 20 inch 2 gig Ram   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   apogee + miroslav + looking for great midi controler

    well
    Let's start again:
I use imac and ensemble by apogee as my audio
interface with and rode ntk microphone. that should
give me a preatty decent sound, but it comes out
    kinda hollow and unnatural.
    Hi AnyaS,
It seems like the room you are in might be adding it's "sound" and making your vocal sound like it is going through a tunnel,or "hollow" sounding.
Where are you doing your vocal recording? When you sing,do you hear your voice come back at you funny, like from a wall,or like you hear a faint "echo" or repeat in the room?
I could help you,but without actually listening what you are talking about it is almost impossible to know what problems you might be encountering, and also if you can point to a reference CD or artist that you are trying to sound like,I can't really give you concise advise as to what to do to get you there.Do you have any way of showing us some of the sound you are getting so we can listen to it? That can help a lot more than describing in words what you are not liking about your voacl sound.Again a lot of this is subjective use of language,so when you say "hollow sound" it could mean something else to me.
And as to the radio quality - I mean sound more round
and defined - someting that I could send to radio
    and/or AR.
Well,I think you are putting the cart ahead of the horse here...try to get your sound "there" to where you like it first, before trying to be judged by "radio and A&R" people.
I am not sure how I can improve:
    - better/additional hardware or
    - better mastering/playing with software (I have IK
studio bundle - that I have only utilized so far as
    sound source).
I am willing to spend additional $1000 if needed but
    rather not.
I think you do not need to throw money at the problem...that never usually works. It is better to understand what sound you want to get first, and then try to get there.
I'll listen to what you have posted, but if you can have a link to a vocal without ANY processing,i.e. as you record it in your usual place, that would help more than a full mix of your music.I can tell easier what to do if your vocal is by itself.
you can listen to working draft here:
    www.broadjam.com/aannaa
sorry I don't know how to create a link here.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Can anyone recommend a print server that will work with Mac & PCs?

Can anyone recommend a wireless print server that will work with Macs and PCs ?

Wireless has a disadvantage for many Powerbooks.  Unless yours supports 802.11g, it is not secure.  So it must support Airport Extreme on the Powerbook to have a secure wireless network.   Also many printers only support 802.11b, making matters worse, as that is not secure.  See my FAQ* on printing:
    http://www.macmaps.com/printersx.html
Some printers have ethernet ports, which would allow you to use a Wireless ethernet bridge that is 802.11g.  Similarly you could use one on the Mac, and then you'd have your wireless printing.  Ask the printer manufacturer what might be possible.  The last thing you want is an insecure network, especially if you are at most 4500 meters/1500 feet from someone who could pick it up and log into it that you don't want.

  • Can anyone recommend some software for creating HDR photos?

I would like to try to create some HDR images but this requires software to merge the bracketed shots into one. Could anyone recommend an application that will do this? Also, any online tutorials or training resources would be useful.
    thanks

When you ask about software for creating HDR photos? a big question is whether you want special-effects-like imagery HDR or whether you want to realistically simply improve dynamic range of otherwise well-shot images.
The best way to improve the dynamic range of otherwise well-shot images is to buy a Nikon D3. For those without the $5k for a D3, Photoshop layers are an excellent solution. You make duplicate lightening screen or darkening multiply layers and erase and adjust opacity of various layer parts to achieve what you want.
Photomatrix is probably the most popular for special-effects-like HDR imagery. There is a good thread among Photoshop pros discussing HDR, with examples, at

  • Can anyone recommend a resource for the ACE Exam?

I would like to take the ACE exam for Dreamweaver and want to practice on sample tests. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I may download or purchase sample exams? Also, any other suggestions for helpful resources that can assist with studying? Thank you!

There are sample questions at the end that we found to be actually incorrect.
I have taken only a brief look at that document, and have just two comments:
In spite of the URL, that's not the preparation guide for the ACE (Adobe Certified Expert) exam, but the ACA (Adobe Certified Associate) exam. I believe that ACA is intended for use in schools, and is not considered to be a professional qualification. It certifies individuals have the entry-level skills.
You're right. Both the questions and some of the answers are completely off the wall. Adobe should withdraw that document immediately (and the exam if it bears any relationship to those questions). Sadly, they refused to do so with the Dreamweaver CS3 ACE exam in spite of considerable pressure from Adobe Certified Instructors and Community Experts. The CS3 ACE exam was so bad, Adobe acknowledged a pass in the DW8 exam as sufficient credentials to qualify as a certified instructor.
The document that I pointed to (http://partners.adobe.com/public/en/ace/ACE_Exam_Guide_DreamweaverCS4.pdf) is the ACE exam preparation guide. Apart from the missing screenshot, the questions and answers appear to be OK, although I would debate the wisdom of the strategy suggested in the question about synchronization.

  • Can anyone recommend a printer which will actually work with mac 10.4.11 ?

Hi all! I have had problems getting a printer which will actually work with my macbook 10.4.11. I've tried HP deskjet f4180 (supposed to be compatible) and various lexmarks (no compatible software). Apple and hp, and my local curry's have not been able to assure me which printer will DEFINATELY work. I just wanted to hear from other Mac users with 10.4.11, if they had actually been able to find a printer which works properly. Would be greatful for any recommendations of printer's which are actually compatible with the updated tiger 10.4.11
    Many thanks.
    Crazynow!!

I read your previous posts, but had just upgraded to 10.4.11 & hadn't check my printers. All 3 of these work: Apple laserwriter 360, Brother HL 1440, and Brother MFC 7820N. I print to all of these wirelessly via airport.

  • How do I setup printer for iPad/iPhone?

I would like to use my MacBook Pro (OS X Mountain Lion), to AirPrint from our iPad and iPhones (iOS 6).
The Printer is linked up to the Canon MP240 (scanner & printer) by the USB cable and the Mac has Wifi - so I thought that it would work, but iOS devices come up with "No AirPrint Printers Found" - so does the printer need to be an AirPrint printer?
    Thank you.

Found a free "HandyPrint" app (AirPrint Activator): http://netputing.com/handyprint
And a YouTube tutorila showing how to do it in under a minute: http://youtu.be/ANA7siy2xNw

  • Can anyone recommend an ISP for central London

I am with Tioscali and their speeds vary a lot during the day. I get about 5MPs, but at rush hour, it can be VERY slow. Does anyone know an alternative with FAST broadband?

O2 actually owns 'be internet', so the infrastructure is the same.
We switched to O2 recently after being with Zen for 2.5 years. Zen were fine - solid as a rock - but the down speed was quite marginal. I don't think we averaged more than about 2mbps down, even though we were on the 8mbps package and paying £24.95 a month for the service.
We switched to O2's 20mbps package and actually saved £10/ month. My wife has her phone with O2 and this got us a £5 discount. We immediately noticed the difference. The average speed increased to 9mbps.
A week or so after joining, we received an e-mail from O2 stating that the monitoring they had done on our connection indicated to them that we were on the wrong package. We called them and they did some checks and found that we were never going to get anything better than 11mbps on our line (due to distance from the exchange and so on. They offered to downgrade our package to 16mbps (they would have throttled us back to 8 if we'd asked, but we knew the local exchange was being upgraded) and refund the amounts we had already paid for the faster package we didn't receive.
All in all, I would say that the connection speeds are great and the customer service terrific...and they're CHEAP!!
