hi i recenty got an ipod touch 3rd gen,
its second hand but after a master reset and recover its working fine, ive updated it but dont seem to be able to find any apps too work on it. i got if fot my niece and would like to down load a few things for her before passing it over, any help would be great

You appear to be stuck on iOS 4.2.1. That means up really have a 2G iPod. A real 3G can go to 5.1.1

One way to find an app at the App Store is to use keywords.
Type print labels in the search field top right corner of the App Store window then press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
Click one of the apps listed. Always check Requirements under Information and definitely read customer reviews before purchasing and make sure there is a support link available in case you need to contact the app developer for questions.

No one can predict the life span of a particular device, there are too many variables to consider. Such as, how well it is treated, how it is charged, used in a case, exposure to heat and cold, and on and on. If you treat it well, it should last for years.
iPod Touch has a 1 year warrenty, but with the AppleCare Protection Plan, you can extend it to 2 years. Even out-of -warrenty, its still useful. And please follow through what Ralph Landry1 said.

Receantly, I have not been able to install any apps on my Ipod touch 3rd gen. I put in my ID and password and the app shows downloding and then just disappears. I've checked restrictions and also reset and backed up the Ipod. I've tried several other solutions provided by the Apple Support Com., but nothing works. Any suggestions?

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

How do I create a folder to place apps in? I just upgraded my Ipod Touch 3rd gen, 32gb to iOS4 and I don't know how or where I go to create a folder.
The update also said I could have a home screen wallpaper. (Does this mean behind the apps?) If it does, how do I set it?

Folders: press and hold an app icon until they start to wiggle. Then drag the icon onto another icon and a folder will be created.
For Wallpapers: Go to settings>general>wallpaper>choose picture>then you can set as lockscreen, homescreen(yes behind apps), or both.

is there any way of getting rid of the app that apple puts on ipod touch....ie reminders, newsstand, voice memos...etc. I have ipod 3rd gen and have no use for most of these.

There is no way to remove apps that are bundled with iOS. The most you can do is place all of these apps into a folder of apps and move them to a page where you will not see them.

I have the new 32 GB iPod Touch, upgraded from a very old Nano. I'm loving all the new stuff I can do, but I've lost something important -- the ability to listen to stuff in the car without having to look at the device. With the Nano, I could navigate by touch to the Shuffle All option on the main menu, and hitting Pause was trivially easy. I can't do this safely with the Touch.
I'd like to use Voice Control, but is there a product that gives me a Voice Control-compatible microphone and still lets me play audio over the car speakers? I'm using a tape adapter now, but I could switch to a radio broadcaster if there's one with a built-in mic. Or is there a pass-through cord with a little mic/remote on it?

The syncing logo just doesn't appear on the upper right corner. Tried restoring but it doesnt work, and now theres nth in it. :(

The Griffin Survivor is a military-grade case that I use. It's $40 and I purchased it at Best Buy. It has a rubber piece that covers the charging port, but can be easily removed for charging while still in the case. The only downside of the case is because of the added girth, it makes the iPod unusable with iHomes or other docks unless you take it out of the case.
