I subscribe to a sewing magazine which I download and save in my library on the Apple mac i pad. Can anyone tell me how I find it on the main computer the Apple Mac pc? I don't seem to have an icon for it anywhere.

You will need to purchase the retail set for the OS X version you want; there is no pint in getting and installing any intermediate versions. Once the retail version has been installed, you can update it to the latest release for that version via download updater. -

Please go to the Apple (upper left corner) and click on About this Mac. In the resulting window, click on the numbers underneath until they display the OS version.
Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion are all OS X - they are 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 respectively. After you get the OS version, click until you get the "Build" number and post that as well.
If your Mac is from 2010, it most likely came with Snow Leopard. If you purchased Lion, then you should be able to see it under your Purchases in the App Store (not iTunes). But, first, we need to figure out what was installed on your machine after the hard drive replacement.
Not sure about iPhoto at this point - may have to do with whaever OS version is installed. Check in Applications folder in column view and post back which version of iPhoto you have installed. -

Can anyone tell me how to find my network password
I've just managed to get my iMac and my MacBook Pro set up for sharing. On the MacBook Pro: when I clicked finder, go, connect to server and then put my password in I was told it is invalid. Wshen I tried the same thing on the iMac: the password was accepted but instead of MacIntosh HD, which I had selected as my "shared folders" it highlighted "(my name) public folder" and appeared to be working. The MacBook Pro was shown under the devices as open (had an eject icon beside it) so I assumed it was working. I haven't gone on to the next step yet as I'm not sure I can get it going from both computers. Any help or suggestions would be very welcome.
I should have added to my posting (instead of using this "reply" - it is the server passwork it is asking for and I have never known that I had one and assumed it was the passwork I always used for this type of thing.

For example I have a imported CD ablum called "MYAblum" which exists in the music store. After activated itunes match, these music can be matched, right?
My question is on what happens following.
If using same APPLE ID I go to the music page and buy that matched songs/album, will I be charged?
If not, after the subscription expired, if I do the same thing, will I be charged?

If you have a CD that you have already imported into iTunes and you buy iTunes Match, each song will either be uploaded, or matched.
Most of the time, if the CD is for sale in the iTunes music store, the songs will match. Sometimes a song will be for sale and still will not match, so it will be uploaded instead. We don't know for sure why this is.
All songs that are matched or uploaded will show up on your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, as well as any other computers you have added to your iTunes Match account.
Because as an iTunes Match subscriber, you will be able to download and play all the songs on your original CD, there would not be a reason to go and buy another copy from the iTunes Music store.

If songs on your CD are matched, it is possible the iTunes store copy will be of better quality than what you made from your CD. As an iTunes Match subscriber, you can download these better copies. Those copies are yours to keep, so if you decide not to renew your iTunes Match subscription after one year, any of those better copies that you downloaded are yours to keep. -
Can anyone tell me how to slow down a commercial track in Garage band 10.00 I was able to do this in the earlier version of Garage Band quite easily and it is a good tool for being able to teach new dances, but I find I am unable to do it in the new version, which has just been updated. I would be grateful for any help.

Select your track with song imported from iTunes, open the Track Editor window, and in the head of the track editor and press the "Flex" marker. Make sure "Enable Flex" is set,
Then change the tempo of your project. -

I used a terminal command in Lion to show the LIbrary in the Users folder, and now the Finder is behaving erratically, hanging up and becoming almost paralyzed. Can anyone tell me how to reverse the terminal command for show Library. The command I used was:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/Showing the Library folder will not cause the problem you've described. Nevertheless:
chflags hidden ~/Library
will hide the folder. To reveal the folder:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Note, there is no "/" after Library. -

Download the iBooks app and go to the Store after lauching that. Come back and ask again if you are having problems.
You can worry about Kobo at some later point, it has nothing to do with Apple and you should seek help at the site of the people who make it. -

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.

How do i create and write to an xml file?
