Can anyone tell me is BC a stand-alone proprietary system or can it be hosted by another provider??

@Have had a website built using BC by a website company that I have parted ways with
after 18 months of hell. I now have the BC platform and website, but have no idea
what I'm doing. They never activated the emails for me, but after tearing my hair out
I managed to get one email working, but just how is a total mystery.
Can anyone tell me if BC is a stand-alone proprietary system that is operated by Adobe
or can I get another Hosting company to take it over for me?? I would very much
appreciate someone's help before I go totally crazy. I can't get in touch with anyone to
talk to from Adobe - tried the Skype number several times and it never answered - I rang
it what was 9-5 US time, but no luck. Can't find a living person to talk to here in
Australia!!

Adobe Business Catalyst is a hosted CMS. That means you need to host in ADOBES datacentre for the CMS to work.
But that's not all bad news because Adobe apply the updates for you so you're always running the latest software. AND the SSL certficates / DNS hosting etc etc etc is all included in your website.
The Business Catalyst is designed so website owners are connected with a partner. The partner helps to ensure you've got someone to lead on for support, or when something falls over. It's highly recommended to have access to a good partner. Sounds like you ended up with a dud.
So to answer your question directly. No, you can't just transfer your site to another hosting company.
BUT - you can transfer your site away from your existing Partner to someone else.

Can an Inspire P5800 be used as a stand alone speaker system? Here is my story. I just got this speaker system from my girlfriend who did not know that it had to be hooked up to a computer/soundcard etc... She thought it would just hook up to my MP3 player and be used as a speaker system downstairs in my shop. It looks like the decoder DDTS-100 could be bought and used as a stand alone sound adapter? Or is there a cheaper way? The only other way I can see is a triple headphone adapter that has one 1/8 inch plug going to three 1/8 inch jacks that can be fitted with a 1/8 inch plug to plug cable in each jack, then those going into the back of the subwoofer/connector area. I have set this system up with a creative zen vision m without using a computer just stand alown, but i have only been able to get the subwoofer, front left and right speaker to work. I dont know if that helps.

I have already purchased a domain name and a hosting agreement with GoDaddy, however I cannot utilize their web page templates for some reason. Another mac user suggested I purchase iWeb and then have GoDaddy host. Can that be easily accomplished?

Publishing to a server or hosting service other than .Mac:
Instead of publishing your site to .Mac, you can publish your site to a local folder and then upload it to the server or hosting provider of your choice. You may want to use this method if you own a domain name and want to place your site there.
To publish your site to a local destination:
Choose File > Publish to a Folder.
Choose a location to store your site, and then click Choose.
After you publish your site to a folder, you can use an FTP (file transfer protocol) client to upload the site folder and index file to the location of your choice. iWeb does not provide an FTP client, but they are easy to obtain. Some hosting services provide a web-based FTP upload service, or you can download an FTP client from the web. For more information, contact your server administrator.
If you don't publish your site to .Mac, these features are unavailable:

Sound plays in stand-alone SWF, but not when SWF is loaded into another SWF

I have my Main FLA (Main.SWF) into which I load another SWF (1.SWF). I have a sound the plays in 1.SWF and it works just fine when I publish 1.SWF alone. When I load 1.SWF into my Main.SWF and publish Main.SWF, the sound in the loaded 1.SWF no longer plays. I can't figure out why.
//Here's the code (AS2) in 1.SWF to play the sound; seems pretty straight forward.

I found some information on-line that helped me figure out how to fix this issue. First, I moved the sound object code to the timeline of the movieclip in which I wanted to play the sound, even if the movieclip was in a loaded SWF. So if I my sound should play in mc_1.mc_2.mc_3, the sound object is created in mc_3 timeline. Also, when creating the sound object, "this" is placed as the parameter, as such:
soundObject = new Sound(this);
Also, when stoping the sound, I'm using stopAllSounds() instead of soundObject.stop().
I hope this helps someone who is struggling with this same issue.

Can we use both Stand alone and Extended classic in one SRM system

Our client is now using Stand alone SRM system with back-end R/3 FI-CO system. Now they want to go Extended classic scenario for few product categories.
         Would it be possible to use both in one SRM system? If possible could you please provide what are the sequential steps to do this?

How did you end up solving your problem, as i have the same scenario. Did you use this BADI (
SRM Server->Business Add-Ins->Control Extended Classic Scenario->Activate Extended Classic Scenario)? Based on my reading, it seems this BADI is relevant to switch between extended classic and classic scenarios.
From what i understand, we can control the standalone scenario via the define backend system configuration (SAP SRM -> SRM Server -> Technical Basic Settings -> Define Backend System for Product Category). In my scenario, I have one set of product categories, so i will likely need to implement this BADI (BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS, method:   DETERMINE_LOGSYS - SAP SRM -> SRM Server -> Business Add-Ins ->Shopping Carts and Requirement Items -> Determine Backend System / Company Code) in order to determine the correct backend system based on company/plant for example.
Did you then leave the extended classic scenario activated (IMG --> Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server-> Cross-Application Basic Settings->
Activate Extended Classic Scenario)?
Or how did you achieve both standalone and extended classic using one SRM server?

11g HTTP Stand Alone Server Media

Does anyone know where the 11g HTTP Stand Alone Server media is located for download. It used to come with the companion CD in 10g, but this is the statement in the Oracle Documentation - "Oracle HTTP Server: Starting with Oracle Database 11g, Oracle HTTP Server is available on a separate media shipped with Oracle Database. In the previous releases, this product was available as a Companion CD component.".
Can anyone provide a link to the download? As its not with the 11g database download....

Lightroom stand-alone licensing problem

Hi all,
I've been using Lightroom 5.6 on a trial basis for a couple of weeks and I want to go ahead and purchase a stand-alone license. So I downloaded the "full" version of LR from Adobe and started it up (no problems reading my existing LR catalogue). Then I get the "Welcome to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" dialog. Two options: "I have a serial number and want to license Lightroom" or "I want to try". So I select the first option, then underneath it says "Need a serial number?" with a "Buy" button. At the bottom under "Country/Region" I select "Canada" where I'm from. When I click on "Buy" my browser opens. For just two seconds a screen appears at the URL http://www.adobe.com/store_selector/storeselector.html, where it looks like I'm supposed to identify my country/region again. But immediately the browser is redirected to the Product Catalog (http://www.adobe.com/ca/products/catalog.html). But here there is no option to buy a stand alone license. If I click on the Lightroom link it just takes me to the general product info page, with no option to buy except from Creative Cloud (which I don't want).
Anyone know how to buy a stand-alone license for Lightroom?

If we added a feature for remotely targeting WES7 cDAQ controllers, it would be a LabVIEW-based solution. I do not expect either RT or WES7 systems to be remotely targetable from Measurement Studio/Visual Studio environments. Apologies for any confusion.

The image on the left is via preview and the image on the right is what is shows like when I try to download it. I have emailed it to myself and it shows fine on the computer and in CS4, but when I look at the download via my phone or on another computer it shows the wonky color on the right. I have checked the color space shows RGB/8 bit. Any ideas why or how to fix it? It isn't with any one specific session.... and I've tried it on both my desktop and my laptop- saved image to an external hard drive and to drop box. I've tried sending the image to canvas on demand, my email, mpxipro, POST editing- all the same result. Please HELP!! What am I doing wrong?

Most of the time you see something like that. The image in question has a color profile other then sRGB. Some image viewers/displayers are color managed and others are not. So the image do not look the same in all of the applications you use. So colors seem to change.
Try converting it to sRGB color and see if then looks the same all around. Also I think PC and Mac displays are set to different gamma something like 1.8 and 2.2
Though I'm colorblind I even see color variations.

    * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)

    * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
