The entire message is "2736 3052 RUN-059008 6/23/2010 12:54:16 PM Putting a row into a pageable cache failed with error <9> and error message <Db::put: Bad file descriptor>."
The person who got it was running a busObj data integrator job. The job was for a whole year. When she broke it down by quarter it ran fine.
I'm not familiar with the product, but are there cache settings or something I should look at?
if you are running the Dataflow is Pageable Mode, then for processing large volume data if caching is need instead of caching the Data in memory DI will cache this on the Disk. The cache file will be created in the Pageable Cache directory that is set from the server Manager.
check the size of PCache directory ?
since you are able to process the data in batches, could be related to volume of data and run time resource usage

Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

We got a new Apple TV for Christmas and it works wonderful. However, my question is this. We are on a satelitte internet system and our bandwidth is limited. Can anyone tell me what effect it will have on using up my 10 megs of bandwidth? If I run over the 10 mgs, the service either slows way down until it is reset on the first of the next month or I have to purchase additional bandwidth and it can get expensive.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.If you only have a 10MB limit on the Internet connection you might as well not have Internet access and certainly should not attempt to stream anything.
If the limit is 10GB, then you will need to be careful with streaming as most video is 1-3GB for a one hour show. -
I can't get Safari to load period. It quits immediately. According to the troubleshooting, I'm to un-install any third party plug ins. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for? I don't recall installing anything that wasn't an upgrade.
Unplug your iBook from the AC power, shut it down and take the main battery out for about fifteen minutes. Then you can put the battery back in, plug the power back in and restart. This should reset the USB and FireWire ports.
If that doesn't help, you could reset the Power Management Unit. Follow the instructions in Knowledge Base Article #14449 for resetting your PMU.
You probably should also startup from your Mac OS X install disk and run the Disk Utility to "repair disk" on your hard drive. This will determine if you've got some kind of file directory/software problems with the files on your hard drive.

Did you have a DVD movie in the drive at the time? DVD movie disks are UDF format, but not much else is.

Fans are running permanantly and this is the error I get when running apple hardware test.SNS is a sensor error. The sensors read actual temperatures at several points inside the Mac chassis to decide when things are heating up, and which fan or fans speed up to improve cooling.
Some of those sensrs are just a thermal-sensitive transistor mounted to a surface that conducts heat, and replacement does not run into big money. Disconnected wires are sometimes a possibility, especially if things were changed nearby, e.g., new heatsink. -

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

My imac will not load after I enter my password. The only thing I get is the arrow from my mouse on top of a blank white screen. Can anyone tell me what this is? I've restarted and turned off several times. I left it on in this state for 8 hours hoping it would reload and work. No luck.

My iCloud storage is full and I need to delete some stuff. Can anyone tell me what is important to keep and what not? I'm just not sure what I really should back up each night and what doesn't really matter. I know my photo's should back up, but other than that, I'm not really sure.
I have taken some pics off and videos and appt, but it still says I need to delete before I can back up on iCloud. I'm starting to wonder if its a glitch with my personal phone. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!Only you can decide what's critical to back up. One option is to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then either delete them from your phone or exclude the camera roll from your backup in settings.
You might try going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll), then look at the size of your next backup. If it doesn't go down significantly, something else is wrong. -
I recently purchased a shutter release remote for my IPAD camera but the cord is only three feet long and I need an extension cord. I purchased a 3 banded AV extension but it doesn't work. I have been told that I need an extension cord that has AV and Mic to enable the remote shutter release to work with the extension cord. I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
