can anyone tell me why the padlock opens in my network settings window without me doing it???
After a little experimentation, it looks like it will stay open unless the System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General tab > Require an administrator password to access system preferences is check.

You have a choice as to whether or not applications in Lion like Word or Preview (or even Safari) save and re-open previous documents or windows... just hold down the option key while quitting a program and when you re-open it you won't get the previous documents or windows when you re-open the application. You can see this by selecting the open program in the menu bar and when holding down the option key the quit function will change to quit and discard open windows. This feature in Lion is referred to as "Resume" and is great if you want to restart an app and return to what you're doing (for example in Safari re-opening existing windows and tabs from your previous session). You still have the option to close individual windows within an app before quitting and they will not re-open when the app is launched again.
This Resume function is not related to saving your work (a word or text document for example). This is handled by Lion's "Auto-Save" and "Versions" functions. See http://www.apple.com/ca/macosx/whats-new/auto-save.html

Returns the value of the millisecond timer. The base reference time (millisecond zero) is undefined. That is, you cannot convert millisecond timer value to a real-world time or date. Be careful when you use this function in comparisons because the value of the millisecond timer wraps from (2ˆ32)–1 to 0.
If you want to fake an initialise, then you're simply finding the current tick count (outside the loop) and adding on 1x10E4 every time you use the tick count from then on, so a difference will actually be the difference plus 1x10E4.

Alternatively, use the elapsed time express vi in the execution control palette, which can take a start time.

Can anyone tell me why the track lists overlap once you've printed on the new iTunes update?
I've just updated to the new iTunes upddate, I found out how to print my album covers but why is the track list overlapping? This never happened in the old version, plus why have Apple taken the short cut away when you right click on your playlist. Very frustrating. Does anyone know if there is a fix to this?
Thanks in advance.I have found a way to get around the print problem, but for anyone else's benefit here is a tip. In the top left hand corner of the screen is a dropdown menu icon, click onto this and go to 'show menu bar'. This brings up the options which appeared on the old version of iTunes. If you want to print your playlist click on 'File' and then 'Print' and this will pull up the print options in the same format as the old iTunes version. The text on the print out shouldn't overlap anymore.

Do you mean an app's price button, or 'free' if it's free to download, isn't showing against the apps in the store ? If you do then do you have an app age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is stopping you downloading them ?

Thanks for the question. The status light on the front of Apple TV indicates what is happening. If it is flashing continuously and quickly, it indicates that Apple TV is having problems:

If Apple TV isn’t responding, first make sure:
- The cables between Apple TV and your TV are pushed all the way in.
- The power cords for Apple TV and your TV are securely connected to a working
power source.
- Your TV is turned on and set to the correct input.
- Apple TV is connected to your network. Choose Settings > General > Network,
and see if Apple TV has an IP address.
- Your network and Internet connections are on and working properly.
If you still have trouble, try resetting your equipment by disconnecting Apple TV, your TV, your wireless networking equipment or base station, and your router from the power outlet. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect everything.
For additional troubleshooting steps, see the above resource (Chapter 4 for troubleshooting).

I have a problem when i open Safari.it takes a few minutes to open, the home page opens but if i try to open ( say Amazon) it just sits there for more minutes before opening ,but once it has opened i can switch from web site to web site very quick.can anyone tell me why this and is there anything i can do to
Try changing the "Top Sites shows:" to the smallest number possible. Safari is loading these sites when its starts so it can give you an image of what the site looks like when you start blank new window. A smaller number of sites will make that quicker, assuming the top sites do not have a very slow site in the mix.

Can anyone tell me why this picture changes color when I try to download/upload it? It is the exact same picture I have taken from the same location. The image on the left is via preview and the image on the right is what is shows like when I try to download it. I have emailed it to myself and it shows fine on the computer and in CS4, but when I look at the download via my phone or on another computer it shows the wonky color on the right. I have checked the color space shows RGB/8 bit. Any ideas why or how to fix it? It isn't with any one specific session.... and I've tried it on both my desktop and my laptop- saved image to an external hard drive and to drop box. I've tried sending the image to canvas on demand, my email, mpxipro, POST editing- all the same result. Please HELP!! What am I doing wrong?
Most of the time you see something like that. The image in question has a color profile other then sRGB. Some image viewers/displayers are color managed and others are not. So the image do not look the same in all of the applications you use. So colors seem to change.
Try converting it to sRGB color and see if then looks the same all around. Also I think PC and Mac displays are set to different gamma something like 1.8 and 2.2
Though I'm colorblind I even see color variations. -

I can't find preferences for the notes app. and every once in awhile some of my notes just disappear at start up, I see the name and then it refreshes and they are gone, very annoying. Can anyone tell me why it does this and how to stop it? thanks

It used to be when I cleared all the history it cleared the search bar. It no longer does that. Can anyone tell me why?
You can clear the search bar history if you right-click the search bar text area: Clear Search History<br />
