Can AP3 view folders on CF card?

I often make several folders directly on my CF card (Canon 1DM3 camera), to help keep track of different classes at events, however, AP3 does not show these folders in the Import window. It shows all of the photos on the card in one window.
Is there a way to get AP3 to show the folders as well as the individual files?

Yes you are quite right, I created two folders on my Canon 1D Mk3 and shot separate pictures to each folder on my CF card.... when I imported them into Aperture, as you said they were both as one folder. No distinction between the two.
As far as I can see there is no way within Aperture to distinguish between multiple folders on the memory cards. They are all downloaded as one.
I have not had the need to create separate folders for a long time, as I said I no longer use DPP in favour of Aperture. I even dug out the Mk3 manual to see if there was a way round it using Custom Functions on the Mk3.... But no matter how you alter the info on the card, upon import... it's all one...!
Your tech is doing sterling work and feedback is good... I will submit also...
In the meantime... I can only suggest a non-tech method of determining when you switch folders on the card to a new sports topic... a bit basic but...
When you are finished shooting team A and while you are waiting for team B to come on...As you switch folders on the Mk3..... shoot something obviously nothing to do with sport... like your tech hubby waving his arm.... Or holding up one finger say for folder one and so on.... When you see the armwave/finger shot....... you know the folder has switched to the next highest one up.
When Aperture downloads them all as one... the actual folder changes on the Mk3 are separated/ indicated by a shot of absolutely nothing to do with sport...! So this will help you group them all into individual Projects for each folder on the card. Or put your way, tell one group from the other..

I have a Gopro camera. I have taken some photos in the last few days that I can't lose but when I insert the SD card into the reader they do not show up. I know they are on the card because I can view them on the camera. Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem? All Java updates are up to date. Thanks.

I do not have a GoPro but some camera cards do not show up on the desktop, but you can usually see the pictures by using software that came with your Mac, like Image Capture or iPhoto.
If putting the card in the SD slot does not work, try plugging the camera in with its USB cable.
If there was any software that came with the GoPro, try viewing the card with that software in case they format the card in a special way. I hear that GoPro video is sort of its own thing, for instance, so that it needs to be transcoded before use in some video editors, but again I don't own one.

I have an external server that stores all my movies and music, is there a way to stream it to my apple tv? If not is there a way I can link the folders to itunes (without downloading files to computer) and will that make them view-able for the apple TV?

(I think the daughter got he better end of the deal!) I believe if you change the password and user id one of the devices it will stop that from occurring. But I'm not the one to tell you how to do it; someone like "Illaass" (Illaass seems to know how to correct / fix almost anything!) will know how if you don't. Just look for the "cat" icon.

How can i view mail mailbox folders on my iphone

I have created folders or mailboxes on my iMac. When I move mail to one of these folders I would still like to be able to access it from my iphone but can't seem to do that. From my iphone, I can only view mail in "inbox", "sent", etc. but not folders/mailboxes I created to help me organize my mail.

Thanks for looking. My mail account is a Gmail Google IMAP account. It is the only account I have and is working well with Apple Mail. But I created some folders/mailboxes in Apple Mail to organize my mail with, and on the iMac this all works fine. But when I check my Mail on my iPhone, I can not check the emails that I moved to the various folders I created on the iMac. ??? I'm starting to think there is something simple I'm missing here but not sure. Thanks

Images can be viewed when inserting compact flash card but many just black when imported. What's up?

When I insert the compact flash card containing 158 images (Raw+jpeg Fine) into the Mac I can view all images, however after I import them only about half of them can be viewed. The remaining images are blacked out even though the info for each image is available. The card was reformatted prior to use. What do you think the problem might be?

Upload off the flash card to a folder on your Desktop (can be done with Image Capture) and see if they can be viewed with Preview. If the can launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import the photos and test to see if the same problem persists.
Also make sure that the RAW files from your camera are supported by the operating system and iPhoto.

Using home sharing, can I view (stream) TS folders as I would with DVD Player? Must they be be converted to smaller H264 first (don't want to...too many, takes too long)? Does it place more demand to stream TS folders on the WiFi that iTV is hooked up to, as opposed to the smaller file size h264? Can it be done at all?
It is the deciding point for me in purchasing iTV.

Select iTunes Store in the source list on the left.
Now click Sign in from the iTunes menu bar top of your screen. Store > Sign In

Sorry, I don't know what are you trying to do. The Tuner card is like a TV which allow you watching TV like normal TV on your computer. The S-Video is OUT only, plugging a video camera to it won't do anything good.

Inbox Folders In view folders option

I have a blackberry pearl 8130. I went to the view folders option in the messages. I noticed I had over 10 inbox folders and have only 3 email addresses going to the blackberry (2 @me.com {mac email} and a blackberry with verizon email) Is there any way to delete them. I expand them and they have a spam subfolder and nothing in the inbox or spam folders until I get to the last 3 inbox folders and that is my email addresses coming in.
Also, can I save my saved messages (emails and SMS/MMS) to my SD card and if so, how would I go about doing that? I need to save for sentimental reasons.

you cannot save messages / SMS / MMS to your media card.
you can do a backup using Desktop Manager on your PC.
Then, there are PC programs that can dig into a backup and transform it into excel files that contain your email / sms / mms. for example :

Can not view primary layout

I am using Robohelp HTML X5 build 584, with windows XP and
IE6. I have used robohelp inthe past to generate web pages with
help info which all worked well. I recently added new pages to the
project and now it is not working. In the meantime I have
transferred to a new pc and reinstalled robohelp and activated it,
so maybe that isthe problem.
When addinghe new web pages I can generate the primary layout
but I can not view it. WHenj looking at the files created it is
missing the main html page that shoudl be the ne that opens, plus
some of the data and xdata folders inthe skins. I restored from
backup a few thinjgs which I noticed wer missing but that does not
seem to help.
I created a brand new test project in case size was a
problem, and added about 30 topics. Again it willnot view primary
layout and does not create the main .htm page.
Any ideas on how to fix?

This certainly sounds as if RoboHelp isn't correctly
installed or that you don't have sufficient permissions. I'd be
checking with my IT staff to see if they recently changed anything
from a security or permissions perspective. I'm not slamming IT, as
they do have valid reasons for endlessly tweaking these settings,
but it's quite common.

Not able to view Folders in Business area.

User has been given access to XYZ business area from discoverer Admin but not able to view folders in Discoverer Plus (web based) but he can view the folders under same business area (ie XYZ) using Discoverer Desktop Application. Only one user is facing the problem other users with same business area (ie. XYZ) can view all the folders under that business area. User tried on other PC also but result the same.

I faced same kind of problem some time back & found JInitiator as the cause. Try unintalling older Installation of JInitiator & reinstall it & it should work.

Can't View on NTSC Monitor

For some reason, I cannot view sequences on my NTSC monitor. When I go to log and capture, it does play back and I can see it on the computer, but whenever I go to "External Video," it is selected to off and even if I change it to "All Frames," it stays on off. Thank you!

Shane's Stock Answer #8: External Monitor Viewing
If you are working with DV, this is simple. First connect your computer to a camera or deck via firewire, Then connect the camera/deck to your TV/Monitor via RCA or S-Video.
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Go to the View Menu, choose > External video > all frames
VIEW>Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
VIEW>Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section.
If you are working with HDV footage, FCP 6 allows you to view this via firewire, but ONLY as downconverted DV. It won't look the best, but you can see it. To do this,
If you need to view any format other than DV at full resolution, then you need to look into capture cards. Several standard definition and high definition models are available from www.aja.com and www.decklink.com. With these options you'll need a proper monitor to view full broadcast colors, but all models allow for realtime standard definition downconvert, allowing you to view HD on an SD monitor.
