Can Apple TV decode AAC for receivers?

I am interesting in getting an Apple TV, but am concerned about the AAC audio tracks. Since most receivers do not decode AAC, I am wondering if Apple TV decodes AAC for the receiver, so the receiver can play the stereo track. Home theater speakers are leaps and bounds better than TV speakers, not to mention LED tv speakers. I just want to make sure that AAC 2.0 is not limited to tv speakers, but decoded for home theater speakers as well. If Apple released all releases with dolby digital 5.1 this would not be a problem, but it doesn't. Granted most newer releases do, but lots of older titles I have do not.

Yes. At least using optical, it should do the same over HDMI too.
I would not expect the majority of TVs to handle AAC over HDMI.
Over optical AppleTV1 output stereo audio tracks as linear PCM 16 bit 44.1 kHz which can then be decoded by teh amp.
AppleTV2 supposedly resamples decoded stereo to 16 bit 48kHz - I can't confirm as my older Yamaha DSP does not tell me the feed bit depth/sample rate, but it plays fine over optical.

Oh, don't worry. I know exactly. I'm a retired law enforcement officer after 30 years. I didn't mean for them to allow you to use the Internet, I meant for them to assign an officer to try and track the device for the victim. Again, that would require the victim to provide their Apple ID and password, which most would not want to provide.
Pinging the phone as you mention is only when there is probable cause and that is done through the carrier.
I'm glad to see someone also understand that a stolen cell phone is not as important to law enforcement as it is to the victim. It is unfortunate as smartphones get more expensive. Hopefully as iOS 7 makes it debut later this year, the work Apple has done will have some impact on smartphone theft. Other manufactures and carriers are starting to improve here in the states. It never was something carriers worryed about with blacklisting. This is where they were a step ahead in Europe.

If they were purchases from iTunes then have you checked to see if you can re-download them (it's not possible in all countries), assuming that they are still available in the store : re-downloading ? You must realize that the quality of sound has been compromised by the very fact of compression and equipment. You are never likely to experience the nature of a live event by listening on an iPod. The best solution is to get a better quality of earbuds/ earphones/ headphones to improve the playback experience. The higher quality headphones such as Bose, Sennheiser, Sony have capabilities to counter ambient interference ( Bose noise-cancelling for example), and they have a better quality speaker than the Apple earbuds. This standard issue bit of kit is more of a courtesy to iPod buyers so that they will have something right out of the box in order to listen to their music but they are not the highest audio quality. The best audio quality will cost every bit as much as, or even more than, the cost of an iPod. As for turning up the volume, that is a foolish undertaking that can have long-term consequences on your hearing. Tinnitus cannot be cured! You will live with it unto your last days.

I'm not quite sure what it is you're looking for, but yes, the Apple TV can stream music from iTunes. With the Apple TV, you control the playback through the Apple TV, which means that it must be connected to a television. It's not like the Airport Express where what gets played is controlled by iTunes on the computer.

I purchased a 2015 MacBook Pro two days ago. Purchased the 256gb 8GB ram model. I find that I do actually need the 16GB of RAM. If I still have my macbook pro within the return policy, can Apple Store order one for me (with 16gb of RAM) and let me use the one I currently have until the 16GB model comes into the store and I just swap computers and pay the difference? Or do I just pay the difference up front and swap computers when the 16GB model comes in?

the current computer content to the new one when it arrives, and before you surrender the
