There is no possible way to use a thunderbolt display with any MacPro or any non-thunderbolt connection. Thats why Apple still sells the LED Cinema Display.

To those curious in the future about using a "retina display", no current (as of 2013) video card could support what would be "retina" on a desktop monitor. Apple's mDP connector supports a maximum resolution of 5760 × 2160, which means it cant even run a 4K monitor, and dual-link DVI supports even less.
You would need a new display connector standard with minimum 20% more bandwidth to support a "retina" resolution of twice Apple's Cinema/Thunderbolt display.

When I plugged my ipod into my mac to sync it again, it wouldn't even appear in the source list. I can't even click on it to restore it. It's simply not there. It happens EVERY time I buy a new song, a new album, anything. Even if I buy an album and five minutes later, without closing itunes, buy another one, I have to go through this whole process. If that is the case, then the new disk needs to be in the correct format and set up as a boot disk, which will not happen automatically, and I'm not sure if you can do it with OS X. The instructions on this page should help.
If it is something you need to do a lot of, and have no access to an MS-DOS computer, you could consider installing the Parallels virtual machine software on your Mac, and setting up a virtual MS-DOS system.

No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

I have a copy of my iTunes folders from my old computer (taken 2 days before it died)
How can I use a new computer without deleting everything on iPod touch?
I've imported all the folders (music, apps etc) into the new computer's iTunes, but when I sync my iPod
I receive a window asking if i want to sync i need to erase and replace with the iTunes library on the computer.
I particularly don't want to do this.
My wife also uses my iTunes for her iPhone.

Make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup. Then restore the iPod from that backup and sync as necessary.
