I've been developing on Windows and now would lile port Database scheme/data /table
"Everything" to a Linux Server.....
Can I ftp the backup copy to Lunix were I just install same version of Oracle 10g express and run Restore Database...This would be easier then dumping application then tables then data ...etc and then importing
CAN THIS WORK ..SHORT ON TIME

However, if you have environment-specific things,
they will fail. I am not aware of any issues when moving Apex installations from one server to another. I have walked a user through this process of restoring an apex installation from a full database backup on a different server. There seem to be no server related references stored in the Apex repository.
APEX seems to have some environment-dependant areas (OS file system mapping
comes to mind) and that may cause grief. In a normal Apex installation (standalone) it has only references to the virtual directory /i/. This needs to be defined on the target server as well.
This is even less a problem with regard to XE since the mapping it automatically available as the files are all stored in the XML DB.

I have to backup/restore diferents versions of Oracle database, these databases are running in diferents operating systems (AIX, LINUX, Windows)
For example:

Oracle DataBase 10 in Lunix system
Oracle DataBase 9 in Windows system
I want to have a single RMAN server in order to backup/restore all my Oracle DataBases, is it possible?
A single RMAN server can backup/restore diferent versions of Oracle DataBases regardless the operating system?
If the answer is yes, do I need to have an specif operting system in my RMAN server? (AIX, Linux, Windows, etc.)

I would have confirmed as like the other two.
Be aware the catalog version needs to be equal or higher as the highest database version.

ePrint account information is kept at the site. You can log on it from anywhere, from any computer. Just go to the sire and click on Sign in and enter your password and email address. You can have multiple printers on one user account at ePrint Center (EPC). But printers can only be registered on ePrint Center to one user account. If you have an ePrint cable printer you can create an account at this link here.
HP Smart Print does not require an account you can download to an Internet Explorere browser (versions 6-9) and use it with no registration.

Output from same script on two different platforms produce different outputs.

I'm running a command prompt script on two different platforms (Windows 7 desktop and a Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Enterprise platform) and the output the script produces is different on each platform.
Specifically; the script is

Database Client - Server Interoperability betwen different platforms

Hi everyone,
we run a 11.1.0.7 on HP-UX Itanium servers. We use COBOL, and connecting to database is via Database Client libraries (COBOL precompiler, client libraries linked to application). Application, Client and Server are on the same server.
Now we are planning to move database to different server and even to different platform. So finally we would have a HP-UX server with a Database Client software (the same version as database server) with a COBOL procompilers libraries and the database server on different server on IBM AIX server.
Do you thing this is a problem? As I expect there wouldn't be a problem because client and database comunnicates on platform-free (endian-free) protocol OCI or whichever protocol it is.

Backup/restore database with dump file

Hi everybody,
I would like to backup/restore my database with Oracle Utility commands(exp/imp) but I can only execute these commands in the machine where database server is being installed. When I use Oracle client to connect to DB server to execute these commands, DB server can not understand these commands.
Is there any method to do this?
Please help me.

How Can I Restore database from datafiles, control,redolog and parameter

The scenario is Database Server is down, meaning that OS has been corrupted, data files and other files can be retrieved from the hard drive. Database is not is archivelog mode, No full backup of the database is available. Only Full DMP Backup is there. I have imported the full dmp backup but is seems like it could not import all of it. Specially some of the Packages and triggers are missing or invalid(does not compile successfully). May be dump backup has been corrupted.
Now Can I restore all data with other objects(views,packages,triggers)in different server and different database if I can copy all datafiles, controlfiles, redolog and other parameter files? Please reply with solutions

Attempting to restore database to same server with different name.

I have just restored my production database to an earlier backup to recover from a major application error.
I now need to reatore a second copy of the database to recover some data which was lost as a result of the restore. The only place I can do this is on the same server.
I can't use duplicate database because the time I want is before the resetlogs time of the current version.
I don't think I can use recover using backup controlfile because restoring the control file will have the old database name. Can I restore the control file, rename the database and still use the rman backups of the original database?
If so how?
Can use set incarnation to get round the resetlogs issue without affecting the current database?

Hi
Database name can be the same ORACLE_SID must be unique on the machine and in specific ORACLE_HOME.
So effectively you can have 2 databases with the same name but instance names must be unique.

IPod Touch stuck in restore. I keep getting two different error messages.

Forgive me if you've seen this question before and if it's already been answered.
I recently purchased an iPod Touch. It turns on but, you can barely see it. The Apple logo appears and then it goes straight to the restore screen. I updated my iTunes and everything and when I go to restore and update my Touch, I get two different error messages. The first one I get states "Error Message (21)." Now, when I go to unplug the USB cord and plug it back into my Touch, I hold down the Home Key. When I go back into iTunes, it starts the update, it now goes into "Preparing to restore". That's when I get another error message with the numbers "2009".
I went to the Support page and tried the troubleshooting steps but, none have been successful.
Has anyone had this problem? And if so, what was the solution?
Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
**Also, I never used a jailbreak. The only reason why I mention this is because no matter how high or low I search the net...every one comes up with a "jailbreak" solution. I don't even know how to go about doing that and I'm not gonna even trust myself trying either.

Make sure the iPod is directly connected to a high-speed USB2 port on the Mac, using the cable that came with it. Also try disconnecting all other USB devices, other than the keyboard and mouse.
Try restoring the iPod touch on another computer.
If the iPod does not restore from another computer, request repair online, make a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it or call AppleCare.

How can I use one gmail address on two different macbooks in 'mail'?

I'm using one business gmail address. Me and my girlfriend both have a macbook. Now the gmail address is linked to my macbook. But she wants to use it as well. Unfortunately the 'mail' system won't allow her to sync with the gmail address. And I get messages from gmail saying that someone tried to log in to my account. You may be able to change the suspicious account activity message alerts
in your Gmail settings, and check that side of it, since I can use several
means of accessing my Gmail and Google Accounts; and in the past had
shared an account (not google) with another party half a world away when
her email server went down for a month.
The Mail software should not know the difference, unless the setup in there
is not correct; if this is so, then more than what she says would be wrong.

How can I get the program to recognize two different types of thermocouples?

I am using a PCI-4351 card with a TBX-68T terminal block. I was having trouble writing and finding a program that would give me more than one reading/sec. I found a program on the NI website called "435x_logger_triggering", and so far it is the only program that I have found that will actually collect data at 60 Hz. Unfortunately, this program only lets you specify one mode for your thermocouples. This is a problem because we are using two thermocouples, one is type K and the other is a type R, so we get bad readings from one of the thermocouples depending on which mode it is set on. I would like to know how I can program in a seperate mode for each channel in this program. Un
fortunately, some of the sub VI's in this program are password protected, so I don't know if this is possible. Everything is entered correctly in the Measurement and Automation explorer, so that isn't the problem. I will attach a copy of the program that I am using. I have modified it slightly from the one I got off the NI website, so that the thermocouple readings have a time stamp and are saved to disk. Any assistance you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to sample two different thermocouples in the example that ships with the 435x driver called "Getting Started with multiple tranducers Continous". Simply put each type of thermocouple in a different index . Each index of the Transducer Group Array can have a different type and specify the channels that correspond to that type.
One way that you can speed this VI up is to place a wait inside of the while loop. This will reduce the number of times the software polls the card if it has available data(increasing the overhead). I would suggest about 500 ms. The data that you receive will all have the same delta t because the sampling clock is hardware driven not software, so it does matter when the data is polled.
You will not be
able to get 60 samples per second when you are measuring multiple channels anyway. The sample rate for multiple channels is about 9/(# channels). This is explained in the 435x Users Manual.
I looked at your code and noticed that you tried to change some of the enumeration controls. Unfortunately you will not be able to change these because they are password protected on the low level subVIs, which is where they are defined.
The way you select if you want the notch filter is in the 435x Config you specify fast or slow. If it is slow then it will select 10Hz as the nitch filter. If you select fast the it will select either 50 or 60Hz You would then use the function "435x Set power line frequency"
