Can browse the App Store but can not sign in.
When I go onto the App Store or iTunes Store I can browse fine and view everything, but when I click sign in and type in my details it pops up with "cannot connect to iTunes Store". How can I fix this and prevent it from popping up.

I have an apple account and my internet is fine and I can open the app store but not download apps, I think the problem is in the settings.
What happens when you try to download an app ? If you aren't seeing the price/free button to be able to download them then do you currently have Settings > General > Restrictions > Apps (under the 'allowed content' heading) set to 'Don't allow apps' ?

This is EXACTLY what happened to me and many others. Tech support returned most of my money but not all of it. Figure that one out! It is clear no music is downloaded (or in queue), it is clear an unknown error message is produced, and it is clear we, the consumer, are still being charged anyway. Will Apple require a credit card from its customers and alienate those that do not wish to use a credit card? Will Apple insult its customers and make silly suggestions such as 'Use an iTunes gift card' in much the same way a forum moderator has already recommended?
I have an idea: Acknowledge the problem publicly (via email, for example) and fix it in a future update. Customers will be more understanding if they know there is a temporary problem and Apple is working hard to fix it. Oh, and return our money, please!

Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

Not an iPhone user, but could be.
Could be if I saw the quality, selection, level of apps that start to get created for the iPhone. Maybe some will fill needs for me that are keeping me from using the iPhone. For example, maybe someone will make Treo similar apps (todos, memos, Treo similar calendar + notes within calendar, etc) - NOT web apps - and I can stop using my Treo and jump to an iPhone.
BUT, how can I browse the "App Store" as a non iPhone owner and see what they have to offer? Will it not be something seen only in iTunes by iPhone users? or will non iPhone users also see a new "App Store" option in iTunes one day? Or, will there be a dedicated website you can go to besides seeing them via iTunes?IF it is going to be viewable by anyone with iTunes, iPhone user or not...
would you be able to see it from my current 'stable' version of iTunes - in my case 7.1.1

I have tried to download an ap from the app store but can't as phone thinks I am in the US
I have downloaded the latest OS and want to download an ap. I found that I was unable to download the ap as my phone thinks I am in the US and won't let me access the UK ap store. How can I get my phone to reconise that I am in the UK so I can download app from the UK app store?

Hi I'm new to this so hope I'm doing it right. I've been trying to cancell a subscription to a magazine from the AppStore but can't seem to find any email address to contact them. I can't even find my account. I've been billed thru iTunes, but can't find contact details for them either. I thought that I had cancelled it at one address but was billed for the next issue today so obviously I got that wrong. I'm in Australia, if that makes a difference. Can anyone out there help me with this please? I'm using an ipad3 and a Mac pro. Thanks.

My iPod touch 4th gen. Keeps giving me the error message "cannot connect to the app store when I sign in. I can open the app store and browse it but I can't download anything. I have full signal strength with my wi-fi and safari is working perfect. I turned it off and restarted it 3 times now. I have an iPad 2 and the app store works flawlessly with it. What is going on?
Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

After upgrading to Yosemite I have lost iPhoto. It has a cross through it in Finder, but I clicked on it and I was directed to download the latest version from the App store, but it is not available in the Australian store. Can anyone please help? I am not an advanced user and I would like my photos back, having had no idea I would lose iPhoto in the upgrade!
Thanks petermac87...but for some reason, the only purchases showing are OS. So assuming iPhoto is in Mountain Lion, I was hoping to look under Hidden Items there as you suggested, but there is no option for that. Only option is to download Mountain Lion again, not iPhoto specifically. Any ideas welcome!

Hi, I got a virus that does not let me use Safari. I downloaded an av from the app.store but it did not detect anything. I am thinking in formatting the HD. How can I do it and will I lose?
1. Force Quit .
Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.
When Force Quit window appears, select the Safari if not already.
Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window. Wait.
Safari will quit.
Relaunch Safari holding the shift key down.
2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn those off and try Safari.
3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
Press “Remove all website data” button.
4. If adware is installed without your knowledge,
download free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here
http://www.adwaremedic.com
Install , open, and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button to remove adware.
Once done scanning and removing the adware, quit the app by clicking AdMedic in the menubar
and selecting “Quit AdwareMedic”.
