Can Business Catalyst host a sub-domain?

Can BC host a sub-domain? If so then we can make arrangements to update our domain DNS and point to that address.
Please advise whether BC can host sub-domains? We have a parent domain that we currently use for our marketing website although require a domain DNS to point to BC to make it live. Would a sub-domain be sufficient?

Business catalyst hosting & e comm

I cannot find any information on this:
1)If I decide to move my site for hosting on your servers:
          - I want to add e-commerce
                    -Would the same page/site design I have designed stay or do I HAVE TO use one of your ready made templates?
                    -There is very little detail on the e commerce package on the business catalyst section, can you guide me to someone who can give more information
2)If I decide to stay with my current site host, can they integrate Business Catalyst on their servers so that it would be similar to your hosting the site?

Hi there,
BC supports eCommerce. Your design and general CSS and HTMl can be ported over but if you used a PHP system for example you would have to develop and set up the eCommerce with the modules, tags and layouts BC uses for its eCommerce and will need to modify and change your site to fit this platforms implementation of that.

Can business catalyst be used on external content

Good afternoon,
We use Business Catalyst for a few sites, and really find the metrics and site information useful. We have some content that we would like to keep on our own local servers, and we were wondering if there is a way we can set up business catalyst to be able to give us the same information on the content we host locally, or if it can only work for hosted content.

Create pages with only contain the information you want to see on your internal site (sort of like a widget), you wont need a header and footer, just the one thing you want. Pull that content from your internal site using AJAX. The only issue is that if you use multiple of these elements your stats will be times that many. For example if you create 10 pages with the elements you need each AJAX page request (on your local server) will pull 10 page requests. So if you know how many you have you'll have to divide your stats by that. If you don't care so much for the stats then no problems.

Integrating newsletter submission form into adobe muse (with business catalyst hosting)

I have created a form, for my newsletter, in muse which fits the style of my website, i would like to use this form to automate a response when someone signs up to it. Will the visitors details be stored on the business catalyst CRM database? Any help would be appreciated.

Visitors details will be stored on Business catalyst. I found a video, that shows how you can add the BC modeules in Muse, and customize it, it is using News section for example, this will give you an idea, how you can do this for Newsletter

Can Business Catalyst be run in Java?....

I am trying to use Business Catalyst in a java environment and can not get the API services reference that is demonstrated in the Visual Studio demonstration to hook up. Can I do it in Java and if so how do I get the reference connecteed in Java or make is work with the java environment.

Hey there.
First thing - BC does not run anywhere other then where Adobe run it, it is .NET based and can not run anywhere else. IT does not run JAva, PHP or any other server side language. You can not put any of that on your website.
In terms of the API you have some SOAP (Ecommerce and CRM) API and some REST API that you can use. IF your 3rd party server is a Java setup then you would use if there is a connection class or code your own for these types of API and code up what you need.

BC provides you templates to use to modify and sell to a client. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be there. For example, the templates are offered when you go to create a new site. BC asks if you want to use a template, import a site, etc… so your analogy doesn’t apply in this situation.

Short and long answer, no. The HTML templates could be uploaded / reworked to display, but BC isn't Joomla so bar some Javascript functionality inside the templates nearly everything isn't going to work or look as planned.

Can Hyper-V host join a domain of a virtual machine domain controller on that same host?

Learning about Failover Clustering with Hyper-V. I have two hyper-v nodes(servers). I want to add them to a failover cluster, but it said that the nodes must be in a domain to join failover cluster.
Can I create a domain controller role on a virtual machine hosted on that same node and join that node to the domain?
Can I just create a role on one of the two nodes along with hyper-v role and join the second node to the domain?

You can create
an AD VM and join the Hyper-V host to it in Server 2012 (or Hyper-V Server 2012, the preferred OS for running a Hyper-V Cluster). This did
not work in any previous version of Windows.
This would be a really horrible idea for a production environment, but suitable for a lab/training.
Also, you only need one host/node to form a cluster (though it probably throws errors/warnings if you do)

Scalability of Business Catalyst for non public domain use.

I have a client looking for a CMS setup that would be more like an intranet than a website, but it seems that all levels of subscription for BC have no more than 10 users as a limit. Is there a version that would allow significantly more? The traffic to said site would not be public domain available, a sign in would be necessary for all users. Also, there would need to be fairly robust security and e-commerce functionality, are both possible? We are looking at as many as 2000 users to start, with more possible as the business model progresses. Also needs the ability to integrate video without embedding youtube or vimeo videos, it would need to be served from the same server as the site for security reasons. Need as much info as possible in this regard.

You could build a website with 2,000 frontend users. The 10 users as part of the plan are users for the backend. IE: Users who can see statistics, edit the site, etc. .
It sounds like secure zones are what you are looking for. You could make your entire site a secure zone and have a person login via username and password.
BC can also handle video without issue (though the video files must be less than 100mb in size.) I will mention that Vimeo and other services have paid plans that allow you to lock a video so it is only viewable at a specified location and not to the public.
Ecommerce BC handles without issue. As for "robust security" what do you consider robust security. I consider BC very secure and is part of the reason I use BC.
