Can Compressor be a replacement for iDVD?

As you may know, Apple has (temporarily?) discontinued iDVD.
So, Can Compressor replace iDVD? Could one use iMovie 06 with compressor?
I've had a few friends switch to Windows for their new computer purposes because they claim that Apple had no way to burn a video DVD. I'm trying to keep these people in the Apple camp.

Sorry to say there doesn't seem to be anything temporary about Apple's attitude toward DVDs. The only (relatively) bright spot I see is that one can still buy the boxed edition of iLIfe, which includes iDVD. But I haven't seen anything that suggests they'll continue to develop either iDVD or DVDSP.
Also hard to imagine they'll build real authoring capabilities to Compressor; they genuinely seem philosophically opposed to the physical disk concept. For example, in the new version of Compressor, they eliminated nearly all the DVD presets that were in 3.5. Of course, it's still possible to make your own custom preset and/or to burn a simple DVD (or Blu-Ray) directly from Compressor (or FCX).
Perhaps more third party solutions (other than Toast and Encore) will surface in time.

There are 3rd party companies out there, for example this one, you'll find more if you search the Internet.
But your warranty will be lost if you do that on your own. Apple does not service devices anymore that have been opened by others.

You cannot get the screen replaced for free...that is an out of warranty accidental damage issue. The iPhone 4s will be replaced with another for $199 at an Apple store genius bar. Be sure to make a backup of your content, best done in iCloud so the Apple genius can restore your content to the replacement iPhone.

My White Samsung Fascinate has issues, can I get it replaced for a different phone?

Okay, I have the White Samsung Fascinate. I bought it from Best Buy back in April, and since then i've had nothing but random problems with it. I've never tried getting it replaced before, but recently it has stopped vibrating altogether, even when in vibrate mode. I factory reset the phone and everything and it still will not work. If I take it to the Verizon Store and they cannot fix the problem can they give me a different phone? I really do not want another Fascinate that will just probably end up giving me more problems in a few months. I also heard that Verizon does not offer replacements for the White Samsung Fascinate, since it was a Best Buy exclusive, and that they will offer you something else. Is that true?

Since you did not by the device from a Retail Verizon Store and has had it over 14 Days the answer would most likely be a no, they will replace it with a referbished Fascinate if you got the insurance plan, other than that it would depend on the rep and manager to do something diffrent but I would not expect a diffrent phone...
Also you may qualify for the early upgrade but this will still mean you have to buy the devicce at contract price and renew contract, but this is only if you qualify and they do not have to offer this as a solution..

Where can I find a replacement for the power adapter tip?

I need to replace the small adapter that allows the power adapter to be inserted into a socket. Does apple sell this part separately?
The adapter itself works fine. But the tip that gets inserted into the adapter, and then the wall, has started to make sparks. I'm afraid it's going to catch fire, or cause a fire. When plugged into the wall, I hear sparks and I see smoke coming out. If I adjust it's position by slightly withdrawing it from the wall socket, so that there is minimal contact, the sparks stop. But I am a little worried now that I can't leave my MacBook Pro retina plugged in without risk of fire. This started about a month ago after two years of use without any issues.
To be clear, I'm not talking about the adapter itself, but the tip that gets inserted into the adapter, and in turn allows the adapter to be inserted into a socket.
It seems wrong to shell out $80 for a whole new adapter when all I need to replace is the wall adapter.

Can't locate audio file for iDVD 6 Travel Theme

I have looked under Library/Application Support/iDVD/Installed Themes I find only folders for iDVD3, iDVD 4 and iDVD 5. No iDVD 6 there at all! I know I have iDVD 6 installed since I loaded iLife06 last week myself and can both see and hear the Travel Theme graphic and audio theme. Where can it be?
Once I find it, how do I get it into iTunes?

Yes! Tonight is the first time I've opened iDVD and that theme started playing. What a marvellous theme it is; it inspires me, sort of sets the level for what I should be shooting for in my scores. I love this kind of music.

There is no mention anywhere of who wrote it (or any of the other audio tracks on any of the sample Themes). The clip seems to be called TravelCards, on which a google search produced information on the composer Simon Fisher Turner (aka SFT), with a CD called Travelcard, but I'll be damned if I can find a downloadable clip to listen to! Some of his stuff is in iTunes, but not this album. From the sound of his other work, however, it could be him. It also bears a bit of resemblance to the work of another British artist, Karl Jenkins (the "Diamond Music" composer, also a founding member of Soft Machine, one of the seminal bands from the 70's).
Whoever it is, I have listened to the sampled phrase over and over and over as it loops in my iDVD window beneath this one... and I haven't gotten tired of it yet! Please if anyone has any idea at all who wrote this, I'd love to know and hear more. Thanks!

My Apple iphone 5 is less than a year old, meaning it's still under the 12 month warranty. The touchscreen has stopped working and there are lines across my screen. Can I get it replaced for free by booking an appointment in store?

The rest of my phone is still perfectly operational. I can sync it to my Mac, I can still see my phone screen, meaning I can still see texts and calls coming through, the power button works, I can see my apps and my background, and the circle button at the bottom still works. I was taken through some diagnostics over the telephone with an Apple advisor, who asked me to restore the software, back my phone up, etc, which I have done. He couldn't rectify the problem so advised me to take it in. I am booked in this evening to see an Apple advisor in store. I don't know of anything that I have done for this to happen! It was in my pocket on holiday in Portugal and was ok one minute, I took it out of my pocket and the vertical lines were on my phone and the touchscreen had stopped working! No one can predict what Apple will say when they see your cord. Just bring it in. If found defective it will be replaced on the spot.
