Can Contacts be set to display only enterprise (work) email contacts upon first opening?

I have installed my personal Yahoo Mail on my 9810 Torch; as a result, the Contacts list now includes a mix of work and personal when first pulled up. I can then change it to display only one of my contacts lists (work or personal), but that requires several thumb fiddles every time. Is there a way to have the Contacts display default to only my work contacts displayed upon opening?

Thanks for your question regarding the contacts on your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9810 smartphone.
By design, the BlackBerry will display all contacts when you launch the Address Book.
You would need to use the Filter option to view your personal separately from your work contacts.

Why can't I set up an apple ID alternate email using my first name and last name?

I am trying to set up an alternate address to my appleID using my first name and last name. It keeps saying it is "rejected" but it gives me no reason. I thought maybe someone was squatting on it, but when I try to send a note to it, it says that it isn't a valid address. Does Apple prevent you from using an iCloud device with your name? Seems odd since it allows other combinations of my name.

If you're trying to add an alternate email address to your Apple ID account, the email needs to be an existing valid email address. To configure an alternate email address with a valid existing email, please follow the directions below.
Alternate email address
You can add one or more alternate email addresses for use with Apple services such as Game Center, FaceTime, Find My Friends, iMessage, and OS X notifications.
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Select “Manage your Apple ID” and sign in.
Add an alternate address:
Select Add Email Address, then enter your alternate address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.
Edit an alternate address:
Select Edit next to the address, then enter the new address. Apple will send a verification email to that address. Didn't receive the email?
Follow the instructions in the email to verify the address.

If you uncheck all of the songs, they will only play if explicitly commanded. Command-click in a checkbox and they will all be unchecked. Command-clicking again will check the all again should you want to do that.

Can Thunderbird be set up to only view messages from a shared account, without having the possibility of altering the emails, folders of that account?

I have one account setup as POP3 on one laptop.
I want another user (supervisor) to be able to ONLY VIEW the emails (Inbox, Sent, Folders) from the first laptop.
I've set up the account as IMAP on the supervisor's laptop. The supervisor is not very tech-wise, so it happened in the past to read emails from that account (and forget to mark them as unread), send emails from the account (composing email while having selected the wrong account), even delete emails. Not to mention the fact that the mails would show up as read on the first laptop if they were read on the supervisor's laptop.
So i'm trying to find a way to have another user, checking the account as VIEW ONLY, without beeing able to affect the account itself.

Thunderbird knows nothing of "Read Only", which is not all that surprising for a personal mail client.
Perhaps you can do what you need using operating system controls on ownership and access to the files in the profile folder.

My iPhone can be wiped by anyone just by checking work emails on Exchange!

Incredible! I just found that that by simply setting up a Mail profile to check my Microsoft Exchange work email or calendar allows my employer to completely wipe my iPhone/iPad. This happens without any warnings whatsoever!
It turns out that if you configure the iPhone/iPad to access your employer's Exchange mail, not only your IT administrators can remotely wipe your phone, but also anyone who is able to either get or reset your Windows password at work can then initiate a wipe of your iPhone/iPad by sipmly using the Outlook Web Access and logging in as yourself.
This is just unacceptable. I understand the need to do this, but the users should be told that this can happen **before** establishing the new profile, so we can make a choice of whether to accept this risk or not. If you use an Android phone to check your Exhcange email, you will be presented with a nice scary warning that says that the employer will be able to wipe and/or lock your phone. Not with the iOS... it simply instals the profile allowing your iOS device to be wiped at any time.
What would happen if a disgruntled IT Administrator at a company decides to wipe 10,000 **personal** iPhones belonging to poor the employees who had no idea this could happen and that their iPhones were super-secure? Up until today, I though only myself knowing my iCloud account could remotely wipe my phone. Now I know there were dozens of helpdesk and IT admins who could have done the same, be it as a terrible joke or by being upset.
If anyone is skeptical that this could be done like I was (I had to actually iniate a wipe to see if really work..), here's a couple of links:

Notice how Apple omitted to add that this will be done without ever obtaining your pemrission or to display any warnings that this could be done...
Needless to say that I stopped using my personal iPhone and iPad to check my Exchange work email and calendar.

Setup Wizard E-Mail: Only have work email option

Ok, so I am new to Blackberry and so far have been loving my Blackberry. However, I cannot seem to create an email account on my phone...when I go to the setup wizard it only gives me this option: "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server." Yes, I received a confirmation e-mail when I first got the phone. I searched and the only thing I could find on this site was to resend the email by going into options and I tried that...this is still the only option I have...is there another way to get it so I can register an email account on this thing??? Thank you!

Awesomebar suggests bookmarks despite being set to display only history

Running Firefox 3.6.8 on Windows 7
I currently have Firefox set to only display History in the location bar - however it continues to show bookmarked pages (which I have not visited). I have attempted clearing all history/cache/etc and closed Firefox (making sure that the process was killed) - yet the bookmarked pages are still suggested in the location bar.
I have checked in about:config
browser.urlbar.default.behavior is set to 1 (which is the appropriate setting for only showing history).

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

How can I get iPhoto to display ONLY file numbers of pictures and not document titles when displayed as thumbnails?

I am a pro photographer and I've never used iPhoto. I use a combination of Adobe's Bridge, Lightroom & Photoshop programmes. I've sent a disk of images to a client and they cannot see the file numbers of the images. Their version of iPhoto only displays the document title that I have embedded in the metadata when importing the images into Bridge.
When I ran a test and imported the same images into my version of iPhoto(7.1.5, since you ask) some of the thumbnails displayed the file number while others displayed the document title. Why does this happen? Can I make it stop? How do I make iPhoto display just the file number in thumbnail mode and not the document title?
When I view the images in Bridge, all I see is the file number but I can't convince the client to use the programme even though they have it. Any help/guidance will be very gratefuly received.

In every version prior to iPhoto 11:
Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File...
In iPhoto 11:
Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original...

After uninstalling nightly, I can no longer set firefox as default browser for email links and they no longer open.

When I try to change the default firefox protocols in windows, only the nightly shows and I can not unclick it. When I attempt to click on a link in an email (Windows Live) I get "Class not registered"
I presently have IE set as my default because it is the only possible way to open email links.

You can install both win32 and win64 Firefox Nightly builds on a 64-bit Windows computer. As you should know, all Firefox nightly builds are intended for testing only. If you downloaded your Firefox nightly build from http://nightly.mozilla.org/ then you got the win32 installer. (win64 installers are available from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/ and possibly elsewhere: [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=12694481#p12694481 ref.])
Anyway, the bug report I referred to earlier ([https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=870312 Bug 870312] - Installing Nightly causes "Class not registered" error on click on link in other apps after uninstall) fits your issue ("broken" uninstaller). It was triaged as a "Shell Integration" Firefox bug for x86_64 Windows 8.
Whether you had the 32-bit or 64-bit Firefox nightly installed, you can try reinstalling a more recent build of that, and then uninstall it again. That worked for a Windows user who had problems uninstalling Firefox Nightly x64 as reported in this thread:

If that doesn't work, also try reinstalling Firefox 25, to see if that helps matters.

Why can't I set up my new iphone 4, email account already registered?

I had an account set up by Apple 2 years ago when i bought my son another Apple product.
I now have a new iphone 4 and when I try to set it up, it says I already have an account, and I can;t get past this setting...3 hours later!!
I have reset the password and still nothing. PLEASE HELP.

I thought it was a new account but then remembered that the account was set fro me to order the mac. The account is mine but I've not used in 2 years and forgot about it until trying to set my phone up.
I then re-set the password on laptop, it sent me a link and i can log in fine. But my iphone still won't accept my email account :-( help desk closed

I've discovered that I can't download files in yahoo only, Gmail works ok and I can download from yahoo using Internet Explorer.

I've tried all the suggested solutions in: What to do if you can't download or save files.
I can't download from Yahoo, but can from Gmail. I've tested using copies of the same file on both. Someone suggested checking malware, but I've run a scan and don't have a problem, and as I say, i can use Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. Someone asked for a screen shot, who knows why.

How do you set the remote only to work with the MacBook and not the Hi-Fi.

I have a Hi-Fi Apple stereo hooked up to my Macbook but when I use the Apple remote, it controls both things.
So if I am scrolling through my music in Frontrow then the volume on the Hi-Fi stereo is turning down or up depending on which way I am scrolling.
My question is:
How do I make the remote work with only my MacBook?

Pair the remote with your macbook by isolating it point the remote at it while holding down the menu and next buttons. You see like a chain appear and that will mean the remote is paired. Now only the macbook will only respond to the macbooks remote. Do the same with the Hi-Fi remote and now the hi-fi will only work with the hi-fi remote.

I have a cpu w/ 2 displays that I want to replace. Problem is, the cpu is a g4or g5, I can't remember. Can I buy 2 new displays that will work in this thing? it's got 2 24 pin ports.

From your post I understand that your phone number is not checked and also is grayed out in your Messages settings on the iPhone. To start with, your phone number will always appear grayed out on your iPhone. In order to get it checked in order for you to be able to send from the the phone number, I'd like you to simply turn iMessage off, and then back on.
tap Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.
