Can content in deleted apps be retrieved?

I was going to transfer some images to my iPad through iTunes. So I selected the photos I wanted and clicked "Apply" (at least I think that's the english translation). I went away from my computer so I don't know what happened, but after I got back the photos were on my iPad, but several apps had been deleted.
The apps are in iTunes under "Applications". I think it must have copied them into iTunes before deleting from the iPad because there are apps in iTunes that I didn't have last time I synced the iPad. I was wondering if the content (like high scores, game saves, documents, images) within the apps are stored there as well? Is there a way to get these back? I've been reading different posts, but I'm a bit confused. English is not my first language, and many people use difficult words or write long answers that just leave me more confused. I tried to find an iTunes usermanual, but just found usermanuals for iPad and iPod.
I've read that if you click "Restore" this will restore your iPad to a point in the past of your choosing. Other people claim it will make it factory fresh. And some people say you get a choice between the two. Some also say that if you click "Revert", it's like an "Undo" button. I don't really understand the difference between "Restore" and "Revert". And what the difference between "Apply" and "Sync" are. Also will "Revert" still work after I've unplugged the device and plugged it back in? Or do you have to click it right away in order to undo?
Some say that the reason apps get deleted is because you sync the device without checking the apps boxes. I don't know if my apps boxes were unchecked, but it seems strange that it would delete apps because of this, and also that there was no warning that popped up.
I've also seen in a post that content from iPad applications can be found in a folder on the computer, but I haven't found any such folder. I found a folder with the actual apps in it though. Are these apps complete with content?
I know if I want the apps back I can just download them again from the app store, but I'm interested in a way that will bring the apps back the way they were, not just redownload.
I read that if you sync again all will be lost, so I want to get it right and not make things worse.
This became a really long post, sorry. Hope people can understand my ramblings and that someone has a good answer.

If you installed a Security Update early this month, about the 2nd or so, and not one since then, run Software Update - if it offers another Security Update, accept and install that one. The original Feb 2012 update had some flaws with regard to MS software in particular; the follow-up update fixed those.

  • HT4009 How can I remove/delete apps I have downloaded in iTunes?

    Hi,
How can I remove/delete apps I have downloadedin iTunes?
I have the Lite versions that I try and then buy the PRO version.
Now all the LITE's are cluttering my account.
Also some of the apps that I downloaded are not required/wanted now. Can I delete them?
    Thanks

You can delete them from your computer's iTunes and/or from your device, but you can't currently permanently delete them from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they are less visible : hiding and unhiding (the ability to hide items directly on a device doesn't appear to work in iOS 6)

  • How can I permanently delete apps from iCloud on my child's iPad

Up front, I'd like to say that this question has nothing to do with storage space - rather, it's about deleting apps, for parenting reasons, the iCloud.
We wish to permanently remove select apps from our child's iPad.  We cant seem to do this - while they are not active on the home screen, by going into itunes or the App Store, they can simply be downloaded again without our knowledge or consent.
Are there any provisions for parental controls over the iCloud?
    Thanks.

By going to settings - general - restrictions - parental controls can be setup to limit the age appropriate content including apps. By hiding those apps on your computer you may be able to change their visibility as well, but I haven't had a chance to check it - try it yourself if you want.

I've just discovered that with the newest version of iTunes you can no longer delete iPod Touch/iPhone apps you don't want.  You used to be able to do so by going onto iTunes on your desktop computer and deleting them.   Not Good!  I just called tech support and they said that in this version there is no way to delete them. They also said there have been numerous complaints about this.  You can't even delete them from your applications folder.  It's as though you're being held hostage to apps you tried, but do not want.
While we're on the subject, I don't like the fact the the iPod touch comes with unistalable apps such as: Passbook, Nike & iPod, Newsstand, and Game Center. Don't want them, will never use them.  Give customers the option to delete apps that we don't want.  Call Apple's corporate customer care. escalation, and complain untill they fix this.

    Actually,

    Hey there 111brownyn
Go to Settings>General>Accessability>Assistive touch(in the bottom)
and switch the toggle on. You'll find now a smaal square around your screen.
Touch it aand perform the double click gesture with the virtual home button on the screen.
I think your Home button has been damaged.

  • Re: How can I restore DELETED APPS :- icloud, facebook, twitter on my iPhone 4S?(THE APPS IN QUESTION CAME WITH MY iPhone I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM).These apps are dimmed and not responsive on my phone. I cannot back up to icloud.

Little fingers have deleted the above mentioned apps!
THE APPS IN QUESTION CAME WITH MY iPHONE.
    I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM!
HOW CAN I RESTORE THEM, THEY ARE NOT LISTED IN THE APP STORE????

    Hey Clyde71,
Thanks for the question. From your description, it sounds like various Account Settings have been greyed out in your Settings application (iCloud, Facebook, Twitter). The cause for these being greyed out is a restriction setup on your iPhone. You'll probably see that Restrictions are turned "On" in Settings > General.
You'll want to disable the restriction "Allow Changes: Accounts". For more information on restrictions, see this article:

  • I can no longer delete apps on iPad 3

My iPad 3 with iOS 8.1.3 seems to work ok but if I long press an app to delete the x shows up on all apps and then the icons just slowly pulse never showing the delete confirmation dialog. The only way out is to hard reset it. I'm not at home to restore for a few days yet. Anyone got any suggestions?  I've seen this posted elsewhere with no solution. It was this way with the last iOS version as well.

Try going to settings> general> usage> storage> manage storage> look for the app and delete it from there.

  • Can't open, delete apps

I connected my iPhone to my computer for the first time today and when I disconnected it, my apps won't open. When I click them, they appear to open (I have the IMDb app and it goes to the first "IMDb" part) but then they just close and go back to the screen. I tried to delete one but it is still there and now none of them work. The apps that were on the phone to begin with are fine.

Have you tried resetting your phone? Hold down the home button and sleep button for more than 10 seconds, and ignore the "slide to power down" screen.

  • I am unable to delete apps on iPhone 5

After looking at other similar questions, I can find no answer.
For some reason, I can no longer delete apps from my iPhone 5 running 6.1.4. I am doing everything the way you are supposed to, but nothing. What I end up with is a bunch of jiggling icons, the one I am trying to delete has its "x" blacked out, but it doesn't delete. There is no message asking if I am sure I want to delete this app. I have to do a hard rest in order to get back to normal.
This happen regardless the app I am trying to delete, so there is no one offending app causing the problem. I've checked restrictions and am able to delete. This is just weird and more than a little bit frustrating. I do not want to keep going into iTunes to delete apps from my iPhone. I shouldn't have to anyway.
Everything else appears fine. No problems on my iPad or iPod Touch.
Any assistance will be most welcome!

I'd just ask folks to read my original post all the way through before giving a reply.
    Thanks!
