Can copy but cannot PASTE from an AW 6 DB

I have a DB I've used for years. Originally created, I think, in Clarisworks 2.
It isn't too large: 500 items, and maybe 12 fields.
Recently, I have developed this problem which occurs on my G3 (sys 9) and my G5 (sys 10.4)....I've tried the same DB on both computers, and same problem...which is...
At times I need and want to select about 100 items (sorted), copy them (I "select all" then "copy") then I try to paste in a simple AW document ("control V"), or even into a Mail document, and once I click PASTE the application (AW) locks up. (I don't have any cut/copy/paste problems in any other appl)
However, I can copy and paste 5-10 items. But more than that, the application AW locks up. Or, in the case of Mail, Mail quits.
This is a recent problem

If you're using the Control key, it won't work. You need to use the Command/⌘ key as a modifier for copy, paste, etc.
But, I don't think that's the problem, since you can copy & paste small amounts. It could be corrupt preferences that deleting the AppleWorks preferences might help. It's more likely a problem with that database, though. Databases are more prone to corruption than other AppleWorks file types. One trick that often works in removing minor corruption is to save the database as AppleWorks 5 & then re-open that file in AppleWorks 6. You do not need to have AppleWorks 5 to do this.

Na origem do seu problema podem estar várias causas. Nomeadamente:
O ficheiro (arquivo) que está a ler pode não ser texto, ou seja, pode ser texto transformado em imagem e exportado como PDF.
A aplicação de destino (onde está a tentar colar o texto copiado) pode não aceitar a colagem de texto formatado.
A aplicação que está a utilizar para abrir os ficheiros PDF pode não ser indicada para certo tipo de documentos. Experimente o iBooks, o Dropbox ou até mesmo o seu e-mail.
No caso de nenhuma destas causas estar na origem do seu problema, forneça, por favor, mais informações sobre a origem do ficheiro (descarga pelo Safari, Mail ou outro) bem como o destino (documento Pages, Keynote ou Numbers ou outra aplicação que não o iWork).

Can copy, but not paste multi selected files

In Indesign CS5 in the "Add documents" dialog, when adding documents to a book, I can select multiple files by using Alt. Let’s say I select a bunch of files within the same folder and gets a path, for example see "Original path" below.
To save time I copy the "Original path". Next time I want to create the book I paste the "Original path" into the "Add documents" dialog. BUT unfortunately not all characters are pasted into the text box, in this case see "Pasted path" below. I understand that this has something to do with the limit of characters of a path. But still, I can extend the "path" by manually selecting the missing objects.
Please assist, thanks in advance.

That is a limitation of the textbox of your software and has nothing to
do specially with Win7. Maybe your software behaves different on Win7
than on WinXP.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I cannot open a new or old pagemaker 6.5 document. The message comes up 'cannot paste from clipboard. Cannot read the available clipboard formats.
It will not let you do anything and I have to close by Alt. Ctrl. Delete.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Let me confirm what you're saying.
PM (windows?) loads up OK, but when you try to open an existing or create new publication, you get the error "'cannot paste from clipboard. Cannot read the available clipboard formats"?
!. PM6.5 can only be operated on a contemporary OS, like Win98SE or Win2K. Generally speaking, with later versions on Windows, it's a non-starter. If this is the case, and it's essential you open your PM files, download and install the trial version of PM7.
2. You probably have some corruption somewhere. You can try trashing all the configuration files (search using the string PM65*.cnf ) and re-loading PM65
3. If suggestion 2 fails, you need to remove and re-install PM65, but even this may not work. See 7.6 - Re-installing PageMaker of this linked PDF which was taken from the old AdobeForums FAQs. (Note the date of this FAQs and begin to realise how ancient PM65 is.)
4. Forget all the above, and move to InDesign.

You are trying to copy a link, it is most likely in a different color such as the words "Microsoft's own forums" in his post. In Word highlight the word or words, control click on them, select Hyperlink, then Edit Hyperlink, then delete the link from the top box. It will then have a button asking if you want to "Remove Link", click on it.

Is it your BIS activated?
Without it you cannot use BBM, get emails or browse the internet.
Try going to options and to host routing table and press menu key and click register to resend your service books. Now remove your battery and replace it.
See if that helps.

Can compile but cannot run.

Dear Java Guru,
Wish to find out why I can compile but cannot run. I encounter the following error: 'Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/media/jai/JAI
at saveasone.<init>(saveasone.java:29)

This does not happen on one PC but happened on another PC.
The one can compile is XP, the other which cannot compile is Win2k Professional. Is there any other possible cause ?

The problem probably lies in the Classpath. I think you are using different environments for compiling and running. If you are using an IDE for developing your code, you might have set the classpath correctly there but not in the executing environment. As about the OS's you mentioned, I think the problem is still with your Environment Settings than OS settings.

What kind of phone is this person using? If this is an iPhone, are you logged into iMessage. If this is not an iMessage, then I suggest you both contact AT&T. SMS which is what is used between non-iPhone devices or between an iPhone and non-iPhone device are a carrier function. There is no setting in iOS or on the iPhone that deals with SMS. If you are able to send iMessage and/or SMS to other people, then AT&T needs to either look into your account to ensure SMS is configured, or they need to look at this other person's phone to see what it is reporting as its number since it is coming back invalid for you.
