Can Core Audio Be trashed and reset?

Is there a way to trash the Core audio setup files? Somehow, that is where this problem is. I have the MOTU 896Hd as my main system audio source. If I for instance play ITunes, everything plays great. But if I launch LE8 while itunes is playing, it locks up the audio and will quit. If I shut LE8 down, Itunes comes back online perfectly. So the problem is with the LE8 core audio settings. Is there some way to delete that folder and reconfigure the core audio settings?

Rob. This whole thing started when I tried to see what my projects would sound like through my soundcard in the computer. Not that I wanted to use the soundcard, I was just curious. Ever since I did that, I have a problem with my LE program. Now it wont work when I try to use my MOTU 896HD audio interface in my Core Audio setting in LE. It will not play the audio and within about 3 seconds of silence, it will give me a error message that says it cannot synchronize the audio and midi. Ive been on the LE8 forum and a guy suggested that there is a apple tech note that applies. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2111 I tried all of the things the article and still nothing.
I have downloaded and installed the latest driver from MOTU.I have tried downloading a earlier driver from them. I have even uninstalled my LE program and reinstalled it. Im really lost.
The funny thing is, this configuration has worked flawlessly for a year until the other day when all I did was to go into the core audio setup and tell it to uts the internal/line output. By the way... It works perfectly with the internal I/O setup. But now It wont let me go back and use the MOTU.

I keep trying to empty the trash on my macbook pro as it says i have just under 2gb of harddrive space left. I can't update my software as i don't have enough harddrive space left.

Can I get the Trash and Send folder in IMAP

Hi,
I work now for a mail aplication using IMAP. I connect to Microsoft Exchange Server and my question is if there is a posibility to find which folder is the TRASH and which one is the SEND folder. The idea is that I can not use the name because I don't know which IMAP server the users will use (I mean the server can be in different languages and then the folders will have different names).

One thing you can consider if you're using Exchange 2000 is to use the WebDAV protocol for accessing the server. If you're using Exchange 5.5 you might consider using CDO. Both protocols would allow you to get the real name of the Trash and Sent folders programmatically so that you don't have to rely on a hardcoded name. See the link below for more information...

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Digi Core Audio Driver and FCEHD 3.0

I'm unable to monitoe FCE-HD via my Digi 001.
Does anyone know why?
All other applications run perfectly through my ProTools system.

Very disappointing. The folks at CompUSA assured me all was well with compatability. I guess..not so much.

How do I use 2 Core Audio devices at the same time in Logic w/out switching

Hello, I use the Aardvark Direct Mix usb3 as my audio interface for mic and guitar. I just upgraded to Logic Pro 7 today and was hoping someone could tell me how I could use the Built-in Audio Core Audio driver along with the Direct Mix USB Core Audio Driver at the same time without having to switch Core Audio Driver's and than rebooting Logic. It is very frustrating doing that as well as not being able to hear my Logic audio during playback/record mode when I am trying to record via the USB3. WHat can I do? Thanks! If ther are both core audio, why can I not just use both of them at the same time? Why must a switch back and forth? Thanks!

The weird thing is, once I go up to the Menu and select Open Aggregate Device Editor in the AUDIO/MIDI setup utility and try to add a new Aggregate Device setup (step # 6 from the link), the only audio device available is the "Built-in Audio". What's weird is when I have the main Audio MIDI Setup utility open, every single drop-down menu/tab has the "Direct Mix USB 3 1.0.9.1" device right beneath the "Built-in Audio" option. To me that says that the core audio device is indeed recognized by my computer (obviously since I can record with it using Logic). Can anyone help me with this one? Any suggestions?
Not that it should matter but, the hardware audio interface that I am using is made by the no-longer-existant company once known as Aardvark. I actually had to purchase a third party Core Audio driver just to have it recognized by OS X.

A little more on how this device and it's core audio driver function within Logic . . . (Hopefully this might clarify something I may be screwing up) . . .
I launch Logic with its default Built-in Audio which allows playback of audio from the app. I than go up to Audio Hardware and Drivers and than drop the flip down Driver menu down to the second option, "Direct Mix USB 3 1.0.9.1." Logic than prompts me that I should try to (re)launch Logic Pro to load the appropriate CoreAudio.. I do that. Now I am ready to record guitar through the Direct Mix USB3, I just can't hear anything (unless I use head phones as an output from the Direct Mix).
Anyway, you all probably already knew what I meant so explaining that was pointless. But my question is, if the Driver is obviously recognized by my comp in both the Audio MIDI Setup and in Logic, than why won't the Direct Mix device show up as a possibility for setting up an aggregate device? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Core Audio Overload - Will a New Fire Wire Unit Help?

I use a G5 2.5Ghz Quad with 6GB of RAM and an Edirol FA-101. I'm finding that the 'Core Audio Overload' is becoming a huge irritant and I've tried multiple driver configurations in Logic Pro 7.2 to correct the problem.
Watching the performance, I had 64% of my processor power idle and 1.79GB of RAM free when it last occurred. Given that so much system resource is idle, my only conclusion is that my Edirol FA-101 is not adequate for the tasks I'm setting it. Before I spend the money, does anyone agree or am I barking up the wrong tree? Can Core Audio overload due to the sound unit being used?
I'm thinking of a Fire Wire 800 unit like the RME Fireface - if anyone has experience of FW800 units I'll be glad to hear from you and from anyone who knows whether it will help Core Audio process information in time.

I'm not using a seperate drive for my Logic files. I've worked through the link you posted on settings several times, and it's Steinberg's 'Halion Symphonic Orchestra' that's crippling my system. I watch the system performance as the song plays and the second core peaks out every time while the Disk I/O meter barely registers a blip which is why I haven't put anything onto a seperate drive, though I certainly shall be.
Will getting Logic projects on a seperate drive work to a greater extent for Core Audio? Halion Symphonic Orchestra uses huge files, but I can't understand why I have such a large amount of Idle system with the Core Audio Overload?
Would an RME Fireface not help Core Audio in its processing? If I can avoid the cost, I will. I'm even using a Pro Care appointment on Tuesday afternoon to see if there's anything else I can do, I'm that desperate!
If I move the Halion Symphonic Orchestra to a seperate drive and then the Logic files to another, would that be more benificial to system performance?

Switching Core Audio Drivers - No Audio Out

I have a project in Logic Pro 8. It was recorded with Presonus Core Audio drivers on a Powerbook. The Project was then handed off to me to complete here in the studio.
I re-opened the Logic Express Project in Logic Pro 8 using Digidesign HD hardware and Digidesign's Digidesign HW (HD) Core audio driver. All was well.
We decided to try some changes in routing, using some new equipment M-Audio (ProFire Lightbridge) to take advantage of some Apogee I/O units in the studio. Loaded up the M-Audio Core Audio Drivers (ProFire Lightbridge Multichannel), made sure everything appeared properly in the Apple AMS (Audio Midi Setup) panel and did test tracks in Logic. All was well still
Then I opened the Project, which had been working in Logic 8 and interfacing with the Digi HD hardware, now using the Lightbridge Multichannel driver to access the Apogee I/O, and...no audio.
No indication of activity on the hardware interfaces. I checked Logic 8, onscreen everything appeared normal. Channel meter activity. Channel routing remained unchanged and should have appeared at the appropriate D/A convertor. Digital activity which would have normally been indicated at the ADAT to Firewire interface was non-existent. So, I would deduce that the computer was not directing the Logic channel activity through the new driver to the firewire interface from this project.
I rechecked the test project with tones. I/O activity normal. Audio out. I opened another of the series of sessions from Logic Express to Logic using DAE now using the M-Audio interface. Nada. No firewire/ADAT activity?
I have reverted without problem back to using the DAE/Digi Core Audio model with no problems, but I would like to get the ADAT/Core Audio model running on these same projects as a proof-of-concept, and see no reason why it shouldn't.
Opinions, suggestions, ideas, questions?

When I was on the phone with M-Audio Tech Support (they're quite helpful) we noted the following:
1. If you switch over to Core Audio using the Mac's Internal speaker in one of these projects (switch to Apple's internal Core Audio Driver). All Channels are immediately updated to show only Output 1-2 available. and the project plays through channels 1-2 and the MacPro Speaker.
2. Switching back to DAE Core Audio, all available channels are updated and all plays/records normally using the Digidesign HW (HD) Core Audio Driver.
3. When the ProFire Lightbridge Core Audio Driver is selected, all channels are updated (now 1-18) and available, but if you select a channel or channel pair on one of the Channel Strips that was not in use previously in this session, an "out" bus for that channel is not created in Logic (which it normally does, assuming you choose a new channel pair for output from a channel strip...)
When a 'new' project is created with the Lightbridge setup selected as the Core Audio output, all channels will auto create an appropriate channel output strip.
My problem only exists when opening a previously created project. (In this case using DAE Core Audio...and I'm not implicating that as the cause, I don't think it is.)
It's like having previous sessions/projects, buying new hardware to improve your ability to work with them only to find out you can't use your new stuff with the old sessions. (Not like that hasn't happened before.)
Either Logic is at fault, not being able to accomodate the driver change from DAE to M-Audio, or the M-Audio driver is, being unable to get Logic to update its Environment to accomodate the new channel availability.

Error code 25974 was returned by the core audio driver?

hello, well ive been having a problem trying to record one of my dj sets directly from my mixer.
This is my set up: My dj equipment is conected via my mixer to an m-audio ozone midi keyboard (1 stereo in 1/4 TRS jack), this keyboard is connected via usb to my computer (imac g4), and im using logic express 7.0.1 as my recording software.
When i start recording, everything is working ok, i can see the signal on my
m-audio keyboard, and i can see the signal on logic, on one of the audio tracks.
But then, logic gives me an error message:
"error code 25974 was returned by the core audio driver."
and then the signal goes out, and i cant finish my recording session. The portion of the recorded set until the error, is perfect, but i need to be able to record the whole session.
i hope i made my self clear. any help!!! thanks a lot

It returned a lot of hits, and apparently you're not alone in wondering what this error means. Lots of people reporting it as an error in iTunes, and also something related to 10.4.9. But in the event no one here answers your question, I suggest you do the search yourself, slog through the results, and see if anyone's come up with an explanation that fits your scenario.

I mentioned defaults in my first post. 'defaults' is the command line utility to set the maximum number of backups, and the key/value is clearly visible in the file, where I see no clearly identified key for the preference setting you seek.

If that preference exists, it is not public knowledge (to my knowledge). You would need to know a few things about the preference key/value to set or remove it.
So, yeah - my original post covered it all, to the best of my knowledge.

Can't open iphoto "trash"

Hi. I have been trying to free up space, so deleting photos (and other things). Now, when I click on the iphoto trash icon, nothing happens. I can click on empty trash, and it tells me then that I have a few thousand photos in it. Am I sure I want to delete them?
I want to see what is in there, at least once, before I empty them out. Any ideas?

Hello everyone,i have logic pro 7 fully registered and all of a sudden when i try and open any of my songs i get an error message.error -1 was returned by core audio driver?and battery is the only plug-in that has a line through it and it will not open?i rebooted,even tried to open a brand new autoload and everytime i try to load in battery i get the same error message?If anyone has a clue,cause i dont

Try uninstalling 'battery' (I'm unfamiliar with that plug-in) & seeing if you still get error messages. If not, re-install 'battery'; but if the errors recur, you'll have to remove it again.
N.B.: check the installation instructions first; manually removing the obvious components may not be sufficient (you may need to run the installer & select 'uninstall').

How can be Teamviewer uninstalled completely with resetting old settings??

I had installed teamviewer before, i was using it in my own language. Then i wanted to change its language, but there was not option(changing language) like in Windows. Then i wanted to uninstall Teamviwer completely, so that i thought i can change its language. Firstly i used Uninstall Teamviwer, then i search all files related to Teamviewer(incule System files), and then deleted those. I downloaded and installed it again. And while i was installing, i selected English language( by the there was not my own language as an option). But i saw that it gave me same ID number, also it was not still in english. So how can i uninstall this program and reset all old settings? Thanks fro answers...

Problem with SAVE and RESET button in WAD

We have two queries embedded in save template and we have created two different save and reset buttons for each query. But if i execute save or reset for one query it is working for both the queries. Can i restrict the SAVE and RESET button for a particular query.

It appears that though there are two reset buttons, the HTML code for the webtemplete is not arranged to restrict the reset function of the button for each dataprovider used. This may cause the reset function to act globally on all dataproviders . In the XHTML code, please pass a unique instruction to each reset function, such that each instruction corresponds to a unique dataprovider.

If it were me, I'd get a new hard drive or SSD and put it in an external enclosure. Boot into the recovery partition, format the new drive (not the old one) and install the OS to it. Shut down the Mac, open it up, and swap the drives. You may be able to read your data from the old one externally if you're lucky. If you're very lucky you may be able to use Migration Assistant to move all your stuff to the new drive.
Look at ifixit.com for the exact procedure to get to the drive on your model. If it's a unibody it's pretty simple.
