Flash Player 10 download goes through install procedure and says it is installed but it is not.
After that There is always a Flash Player Install file on the PC.
When I click on that it goes through the install procedure and says it is installed but it is not.
Have tried above install more than 6 different times. Also on my wife's new PC.
Always the same bad result.
These two new PC's are both on WIN 7 64 bit OS.I tried the suggested method of uninstall and then install. Also the disable instructions for Norton AV.
Still no success. When I again check the list of programs in Control Panel for possible uninstall the Flash Player 10 has returned there.
But the player does not play when needed for some videos on Facebook, etc.
One thing I could not find to disable on Norton AV was "Smart Firewall." It was not in my NAV 2011.
Any other suggestions appreciated.

Hi, I would try this method and see if it works better. There is a link for FF(Firefox) If you don't use FF, ignore that. Also before you begin this procedure, I need to know what Anti-Virus/Spyware programs you have Installed. Some will block the Install of Flash Player and that needs to be taken care of first.
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for IE- use the EXE Installer
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for FF- use the EXE Installer for plugin based (from the same site)
Close all browser windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop.
Disable any messenger services, as yahoo, msn, etc in the system tray(area near the clock)
Be sure to use the Administrator Account.
Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.
Run the Installer for IE, Run the Installer for FF(If needed/used) and when finished, Reboot.
Then go to this test site and test each browser:
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Weird problems after clean install on Win 7 64 bit
So I just built out a brand new machine with Win 7 64 bit and installed CS4 on it. PS works great, super quick! As I went through and tried to work on some websites last night, I found that the File/Open, File/Save and File/SaveAs options don't work? When you first open Dreamweaver (or Flash - haven't tested anything other than PS/DW/FL) the initial opening screen you can click on new HTML doc for example but clicking Open... doesn't bring up the windows open/browse dialog box. My DW install is all up to date and I tried to install over the top of it but that didn't help. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Thanks in advance for any insight or help you can offer!
--JI have been running Dreamweaver CS4 on Windows 7 64-bit without problems for over a month (new machine, not upgraded from a previous version of Windows). The only part that fails is the documented problem with selecting the site root in a new site definition (see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/478327).

HP C4380 software fails to install on Win 7 64 bit
My HP C4380 printer scanner stopped working, so I added another printer with working scanner to my wireless network, but then I could not get my HP C4380 to run even though it was default, so I uninstalled the other printer because I prefer my HP. After uninstalling the other printer, I could not run my HP at all. I received the message it wasn't connected. I tried to hardwire it. No luck. Then, I followed scan and print doctor which told me to uninstall and reinstall software. I uninstalled and then used my HP cd to reinstall and got message it did not meet system requirements (Win 7 64 bit). I went online and tried to reinstall the C4380 software. The software appears to be installed but my printer shows up as an "unspecified" rectangular box under devices instead of a printer under "printers." So now I have no printer. How do I correct this problem?? Thank you.

happy to help you with this issue! I have a couple of questions for you:
Can you make copies with the printer?
Is the power cable plugged directly into the wall, or a surge protector? Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
In the meantime, I would try uninstalling the software, and then re-installing again, using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Why is my Photoshop CS4 not installing both 64 and 32 bit versions?
Hello,
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
I purchased and downloaded Photoshop CS4 Extended and it installed as a 64 bit program. Now I need a 32 bit version also (for some Nik plugins), but the installer didn't install the 32 bit version (it would be in Program Files (x86). It should have installed both as a default.
Also, I didn't change the default pathing as I know that can screw the install up.
I ran the install program again and it runs through the complete install without giving me the Options Panel to select which version 64 or 32 (or both) to install.
Should I completely uninstall PS and reinstall to see if I get the install Options Panel? Other Ideas?

It's a great idea, but I don't know how. I have the downloaded the PS CS4 file from Adobe that I used to originally install PS. I re-ran this install program and it reinstalled the same 64bit program that I already have; it never gave me any options as to which version to install.
I'm think I'll just have to de-activate, uninstall, reinstall to get the PS install Options Panel. -

After following instructions for three different solutions that did NOT work; I found the solution that did work
on the support site for Syamntec.
Readers - Please, you must be VERY familiar with pc jargon and windows vernacular to accomplish the reset
of ALL the permissions in your registry.
Follow the ditrections below and pay attention to the notes for those running 64bit Win7.
Step one, back up the registry.
Step two, go to the MS KB: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8ba3e56-d8fe-4a91-93cf -ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en and download the file that installs subinacl. It is an MSI file, and will do a quick install of a few Microsoft files. Hint: Look in the folder listed below, "subinacle.exe" may already be there.
Step three, create a batch file (subinacle.bat) with the following commands: (Use Notepad - copy & paste, not the red stuff)
cd /d "Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools" (only for 32bit/x86 machines)
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f

For 64bit machines substitute for first line of bat file:
cd /d "c:\program files (x86)\windows resource kits\tools"
Step four, run the batch file. Let it run until the Command Prompt screen closes, may take 30 minutes or more.
Step five, reboot the machine and run the install again.
Ladies and Gentlemen; this worked for me and allowed immediate installation of two application packages I had been trying for three months! (Including ITunes 10.5) -
Vista PDF Preview handler installed on Win 7 32 bit does not work.
There is no discoverable information regarding failure to preview Adobe PDF files on Win 7 32 bit. The advice for 64 bit does not work. Adobe continues to install the Vista preview handler on my Windows 7 computer, which I suspect is the issue. Is there any way to find and install the Windows 7 32 bit handler or is there a registry hack that permits 11 to access the vista version or what? This is a repeat post, as I cannot locate the first and assume that there have been no responses, as I have received no alerts.
If you have an answer I will name my first born for you. He is 41 and object loudly, but no price to great.....I have fifteen minutes to mark this as a question, despite the fact that no question link or icon exists. Adobe?

Can CS4 be installed on a server and let others share?
We are a small business with about 5 computers connected in a local network. We only use Adobe CS4 occacionally and not necessarily at same time. Buying 5 licenses for each computer is not cost effective for our small business. So I am thinking about something like this: Install Adobe CS4 on a server and let other computers access but only allow one user at one time. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!
It would be a violation of the license. You might look into volume licensing.

Can CS4 be installed/run on a network drive?
Is it possible to install a standard license key with Adobe CS4 on a network attached storage device if it will only be accessed by one user on one machine at a time? I need to be able to access CS4 from all of my machines, and don't want to buy a VLK to install it locally on all of them.

HP Security Manager 7 not installing in Win 7 (64 bit)
Hello Tech Gurus, This is very surprising. I was using HP Protect Tool Security Manager 7 for last 3 years. But there were some problems due to which I uninstall all the HP security softwares and tried to install Validy Finger Print Driver, Security Manager, HP Face Recognition software. USB-Parallel converters can be problematic. The models listed in posts flagged here have been verified by users to work with 64 bit Windows 7.

How to install clean win 7 32 bit in touchsmart 300
Hello, i buyed touchsmart 300 for work in add multitouch feature to my software MonoTouchLive
I own windows 7 ultimate 100% legally and i do clean instalation, i not really interested in all tools and softare provided by HP, really good pkg, but i really like clean install.
Im very suprised when after try installl widnows 7 ultima, system freeze with BSOD screen due some comflict and installation die.
Its not possible install win7 32 bit on touchsmart 300 due some conflict, i researcha little and discover way to install windows 7 without trouble:
Step 1, With the Windows 7 DVD in your DVD drive press any key when promped @ 'Press any key to boot from CD / DVD...', as soon as the message is gone, quickly press F8 to show the boot options list. Select Safe Mode and install 7. It will allow the initial stages & file copying.
Step 2, When 7 restarts for the first time, press F8 and select 'safe mode'. A dialog box will appear stating that windows cannot continue in safe mode 'ok' to restart.
WARNING don press ok !!!

Step 3, press SHIFT+F10 to open the command prompt and direct youself to x:\windows\system32
Code:
cd\windows
cd system32
then type CompMgmtLauncher (it takes a few seconds to load) you can then access device manager from this console.
Step 4, Select DEVICE MANAGER , and disable all yellow devices is the offending hardware & choose to disable it. JUST LEAVE ENABLE NETWORK ADAPTERS !
Close command window and click ok on the dialog box. Windows will use a standard driver (with less funtionality) when it restarts.
Once installation has finished enabel windows update, taht isntall video drivers and others, the go to device manager and select yelow device drivers, make right lick select update driver.
That fix and isntall missing drivers !! : )

Only can setup bright from POWER OPTIONS ---> change plan settings
Then move the bright slider and press save changes, and newe bright value is configured.
The control volumen buttons in the left of the machine not work, i dontreally use so i not find how fix, probably somebody form HP can inform hoy fix this.

I have the solution to your problems and I will go ahead an explain it in detail so that no questions will be raised.
I have struggled to get WINDOWS 7 (32BIT) to run on the Touchsmart 300 PC now for three days (and nights) but I know how you can do it.
The problem lies within the VGA Adapter (Graphics Card) this little buddy has incompatible drivers with the inbuilt functions of the Touchsmart PC in its generic (Windows Preloaded) form. Therefore what you can do is the this.
Step 1: Insert Windows 7 (32Bit) disk and start the setup process and follow it until it hits the problem. (Millisecond of Bluescreen)
Step 2: Once the PC starts booting repeatedly press F8 (I mean it just keep on pressing that button until you can select "Safe Mode")
Step3: Once Windows Setup screen is back it will tell you an error! Which is good. INSTEAD of pressing "OK" (to restart) press SHIFT + F10 (opens the command prompt)
Step4: You should automatically be in \Windows\System32 now enter the following command: CompMgmtLauncher (This is the Device Manager).
(If the default directory is not System32 the navigate to it by entering "cd windows" and "cd system 32" (cd = change directory)
Step5: In the Device Manager (do not worry it will take some time to load) select navigate to "Display Adapters" - "ATI Radeon ..." RIGHT-CLICK on it and choose disable. (To be sure Windows will not have any other troubles you should do the same for all highlighted devices. the once with the yellow triangle)
Step6: Once this is done restart your system and let the install run into the normal mode and finish the install.
Step7: Once Windows starts for the first time. Use the provided ATI Radeon Driver from HP (NOT the original one) from the support download website to install the correct driver.
Step8: Resart and enjoy!

Why can't I install iTunes on my 64-bit Windows 7 desktop?
When I go to the installation page and input my email address, the full page doesn't seem to load, but then I click on what I assume is the "download" button (though can't really tell because the pictures don't load properly) and nothing happens. After a minute or so it just goes back to the iTunes page and if I click download it all just happens again.
What am I missing?Thanks, I found the link to the direct installer and installed it. But when I tried to run iTunes after installation an error message occurred: "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTines, then install iTunes again. Error 2 (Windows error 2)". Same thing happened when I uninstalled and re-installed.
