Can Curved Verticals Be Corrected Reasonably Easily In FCE /FCP ?

A friend has shot some holiday footage using a screw-on wide-angle lens.
This of course has resulted in distortion causing vertical lines near the edge of the frame to bend.
Is there a reasonably simple way of correcting this using FCE or FCP ? Somebody did suggest trying After Effects but as he does not know how to use it, it wasn't very helpful !

I can only guess about the reason... Firefox works with many websites' "rich text" editors, but ones that haven't been updated for five years may assume that Firefox is the old Netscape browser and use scripting techniques that don't work in Firefox.
If Verizon has a different "basic" or HTML editor that you can tolerate using, you could try that. It might not be subject to the same incompatibilities.
If I someday get a Verizon account, I will surely be looking into this further, but for now, it's hard to suggest anything else.

If you can receive mail and your connection to your ISP is otherwise working, but cannot send mail, then your SMTP settings are incorrect; the SMTP server port is wrong, your SSL setting is wrong, or the username or password credentials don't match what the ISP has, or your attempted accesses are being blocked or your ISP SMTP server is offline.
And in general, don't use port 25 for your outbound mail, unless your ISP specifically requires that; these days, that port is best left to communications between mail servers and (usually) not used by any mail clients.

UTF-8 csv file generated by Java can't be displayed correctly on Excel 2000

Hi, I have a question about the file geneated by Java in UTF-8 format. If I have a file named "foo.csv" generated by my java code like this:
writer = new OutputStreamWriter(new FileOutputStream("foo.csv"), "UTF-8");
Then I write some data loaded from a MS SQL 2000 server to this file. Some data are in German or french characters. After the file is generated, if I open it in notepad, all the characters in the file looks good. The file is in UTF-8 format. The only problem is that when I open this csv file in MS Excel 2000, all the non-english character display incorrectly. For example:
"VERKTYGSTEKNIK I V�XJ� AB" display as itself in notepad, but it display as "VERKTYGSTEKNIK I V��XJ�� AB" in the MS Excel. I don't know the reason. If I don't have the encoding in the writer, then the file generated looks fine in the Excel (Even the non-English characters), in this case, the file is generated in ANSI format. But my client wants the file in UTF-8 format and also want to view it in Excel.
Why the UTF-8 file generated by Java can't be displayed correctly in Excel 2000?

Yes. I believed that we installed some international add-on which is not in default installnation. Anyway, other UTF-8 or UTF-16 file can be openned and viewed by Excel without any problem.

I think so. If I open it into Notepad and choose "save as", the file type if UTF-8 file

that it support UTF-8 - eg. Mozilla...

The unicode-16(LE or BE) file I got from internet, I found there is always two bytes in the front. (0xFEFF or 0xFFFE). My UTF-8 file generated by java doesn't have that. But should UTF-8 file also has this kind of specifcal bytes in the front? If I manually add these bytes in the front of my file using Ultraeditor and open it in Excel2000, it didn't help.

Can't make color corrections

Upgraded Final Cut Pro yesterday, and for some reason, I can't make color corrections to my clips anymore as the color options are not showing up in my inspector anymore. Am I missing something? It's alway been there, and I can't seem to find it in the menu options. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I installed the latest iTunes this AM, works perfectly. Although for some reason it did lock up after playing a song today.

No, it isn't.
The issue you are experiencing is one that has occurred in multiple versions of iTunes, a simple search would have revealed this.
A simple search was conducted, no one seemed to have an answer. Do you always adopt such a haughty attitude? Or was I just lucky.

Chinese characeter set can not be displayed correctly

I finished the installation of language and chose Chinese in "Set Language" Portlet.The Portal becomes Chinese version.
I use "Form based on table or view" method to created a form in Chinese and the process was favoring.The Chinese characters are displayed correctly.But when I edit any item(such as button text or label text) of this form all Chinese characters are displayed as unorderly code.What is the reason?May I get your help again?

I am trying to take RMAN backup from EM. I changed 'system' and 'sys' user passwords in EM after login in as system as normal user. But even then can not connect.
Also changed 'sys' user password in command ..now aI could login to EM as sys - SYSDBA but while scheduling back up it says

How can I display JTextFields correctly on a JPanel using GridBagLayout?

I had some inputfields on a JPanel using the boxLayout. All was ok. Then I decided to change the panellayout to GridBagLayout. The JLabel fields are displayed correctly but the JTextField aren't. They are at the JPanel but have a size of 0??? So we cannot see what we type in these fields... Even when I put some text in the field before putting it on the panel.
How can I display JTextFields correctly on a JPanel using GridBagLayout?

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. All I can say is that I REALLY like my Touch 4th gen because I have all sorts of capabilities in a small form: e-mail, web browsing, news, weather, books, magazines, etc. etc. Plus lots and lots of apps out there, including so many free ones. I use the Cloud a lot so it's great to have everything sync'd to my MacBookPro (e-mail, Evernote, Pocket, etc.)
It would be easier, though, to do some of this, especially magazines, on the iPad mini, but, again, I love the small size of the Touch.
As for the 5th gen instead of the 4th, the fifth has Siri and the 3D feature in maps, which are great. And I'm sure it's a lot faster in iOS 6 than the 4th gen. And cool colors!

it recognizes the iPOD but I can't get any of the new songs to import to the iPOD
are you getting an error message, Odessa? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
if you're not getting an error message, describe what happens when you try to transfer songs to the ipod as best you can.
