Can date modified be auto set to date taken?

Is there any option to save a picture that I have edited so that it was the original date picture was taken rather than creating a "date Modified" file?
When I shoot I use both a video & still camera both of which have had the time date stamp set to coinside.  These files are loaded into one folder for video editing.  If I sort this folder by date taken I expect to see both sorts of media which were taken approximately at the same time to be dipalyed together.  Instead I'm finding that the jpegs are being sorted by date modified which came be much later.
Any other solutions?

Since you responded that you are using Sony Vegas Pro 10 to do the sequencing of your photo and video files, I think that your question is really about the Sony software instead of being a question about Adobe Photoshop Elements.
Here is more informatio to give you some background :
There are fields within the jpeg format photo file which identify the Date Taken of the photo.
If you wish, you can use Windows Explorer with the Details option
and then choose Date Taken as a field to display within the details for each file.
That way you can can verfiy from the windows Explorer display that the Date Taken within the JPEG format file still shows the date that the photograph was actually taken even though the Date Last Modified (of the Windows file) does change when you Save the edited photo from PSE.

  • How can I modify the date format in Autoimporter?

I am finding it impossible to get my iMac recognise my Canon SX200 camera and thus allow Picasa to import its pics.  Autoimporter, though, does see it and will create and populate a usefully date-named folder with them.
Useful up to a point - Autoimporter's date is in the system's format (for me, dd-mm-yyyy) which does not allow the folders to fall naturally into date order in Picasa.  International date format (yyyy-mm-dd) would be ideal.
Can anyone advice how Autoimporter's date format can be modified, please?
Or tell how they got their Canon SX200 to be recognised by Picasa?

I actually use a pretty manual solution for this with a few command line tools: ExifTool, bash, and AppleScript. It's fairly raw, but here's the process in case you're intereted.
First, make sure ExifTool is working. Install it if needed.
Create a bash script that moves the photos from your auto-import folder to yyyy-mm-dd folders.
    Here's a sample bash script:
    #!/bin/bash
    SOURCE_DIR=“/Users/yourusername/Pictures/Imported"
    DEST_DIR=“/Users/yourusername/Pictures"
    if [ -d $DEST_DIR ]; then
         for i in $( find $SOURCE_DIR -type f ) ; do
              mkdir -p $(exiftool -d $DEST_DIR/%y%y-%m%m-%d%d/ -p '$DateTimeOriginal' $i);
              mv -n $i $DEST_DIR/$(stat -t %y%y-%m%m-%d%d $i | awk '{print $12}' | sed s/\"//g )/;
         done
    fi
Create an AppleScript file that calls the bash script, example:
    do shell script "~/bin/movephotos.sh”
Then right-click the folder where you auto-import files, go to Services > Folder Actions Setup, and connect the bash script as an action for the folder.

  • How can I modify the High Speed Data Reader VI to show correct time information in x-axis?

I am just a beginner learning the LabVIEW programming currently.
I have a PXI 6115 DAQ card and have to make a hardware timed acquisition VI for maximum performance. Thus I use the High Speed Data Logger VI for data acquisition.
However, when I read my data by using the High Speed Data Reader VI, it doesn't show its correct time information in the graph.
How can I modify the High Speed Data Reader VI to show correct time information in x-axis?
I hope you can explain easily because I am a beginner.

    Hey Chunrok,
I've modified the High Speed Data Reader VI slightly so that it now uses the scan rate of the data (as determined from the file) to set the scaling for the data points. If you wanted the start time to be a specific time you could use the start time obtained from your file to set the xscale offset as well.
    I hope this helps!

First, I couldn't seem to find that example either on computer or on the NI sites.
The problem that we're running into is stated in the article that I pointed to - when real time VIs are running, then the OS will stop updating the OS clock. TO us it looks like the clock is losing time. There is a hardware clock on the PXI and it is read only during boot up to set the OS clock. Our discussions with NI have not led to a solution for this problem without checking the time on start and then checking the tick count (which does not lose time) and calculating what the current time is. No access to the hardware clock is supplied.
We're still working on a simpler way to get accurate time.

  • How can I modify data from a Transparent Table without ABAP code.

    Hi,All
How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR),  and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
I had fond that there is a way can do that:
1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
2, type '/h' and let debugging on
3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?
    and, My system is ECC6.
    thank you all

    Hello,
Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work.  However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT.  This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment.  Vijay's other comment is true as well.  This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment.  The auditors will not be impressed.
Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.

  • How can I modify datas on one OpenLDAP server

Hello, I am testing Leopard server 10.5.2 ; we have one open ldap server on our network with more than 700 users and I can access to it on the workgroup manager. Unfortunately I can't modify the datas which are on the open ldap server (only with Workgroup manager) but I have no authentification problem using Safari and a php module (cn=admin.....+ password). Is it normal ? Can I import the accounts on my OD Server. This one is setup as a OD Master. As we have a lot of people on the Openldap server I don't want to recreate them manualy.
    Thank you.

    Hi
Yes you should be able to do this. Passwords will probably not be transferred over. However once transferred you can specify a password policy for all users to change their passwords at next log in.
You don't say which existing LDAP server you have. It may be advisable to you use a 3rd-Party application to transfer Users etc over. I've heard that Excel can be used although I have always used Passenger.

  • Can't modify date

I have 5 .mov videos inside an event of 2009, but these videos are wrongly dated 2005. I tried to modify date and hour in iPhoto, even marking "modify originals", it change the date in iPhoto but not in the original files (while it does it perfectly with other pics of the same event).
The fact is that i want to see everything organised perfectly, and if I browse iPhoto Library folder i find this event in the 2005 folder, rather than in the 2009 one. So, what i wish to do is modify the original files' date and re-import in iPhoto the folder with the modified files, in order to let iPhoto put them in the right 2009 folder.
Someone has any idea of the reason for which I can't modify these 5 videos' date, unlike all other items?

When iPhoto modifies the date on a Photo it writes to the Exif metadata of the Photo. Video has no such metadata so iPhoto has nowhere to write this information. Simply, there is no way to do what you want to do.
and if I browse iPhoto Library folder
And you shouldn't. This simply isn't supported.

Format the x axis to either absoulte or relative time.
You can do this by right clickingo n the graph and selecting x axis then formatting from the menu.

Is this when you are trying to log in to acrobat.com files from within Reader?
If so, this is sort-of by design, because of the US CIPA regulations. It does, however, catch accidental date entries as well.
I'll pass the frustration along to our login service.

If you selected to erase the device using the find my iPhone erase feature, as soon as your iPhone reconnects with apple systems, it will erase.  This command cannot be cancelled.  However, you will be able to restore your device using the most recent icloud or itunes backup.
    Hope this helps.

  • Elements 11 in my folders can it be set to date taken

in elements 11, in the my folder column . can it be set to date taken ?

No, it can't. It's only in alphabetical order. It may be used for finding the last subfolders when you are using descriptive names to them. If you don't and let the Organizer create the subfolder hierarchy in the downloader options, those last level folders can be created and named automatically with a date template, like '2014 10 05"; in which case the subfolders will shown in date order.
If you are using the organizer as it is meant to, you'll rather use keywords or albums than a folder organization.

  • Why doesn't Lightroom organise videos/photos lacking "date taken" by "date modified" instead of "date created"?

This still seems to be a problem with Lightroom 5. This post is one of the top results after trying to Google this problem, and it's for LR3. I can't understand why something so fundamental to video (and some photo) organisation has been overlooked for so long.
I've been trying to import and organise all my old photos and videos by date with LR5. They've been backed up and copied many times over the years, most recently to an external drive last week. So every file has a "date created" of last week. But "date modified" remains the original recorded date.
This doesn't matter for photos with a proper EXIF "date taken" - but LR5 looks at the "date created" for videos, making it completely useless for organising them into date-based folders. It puts videos I recorded in 2010 (as per "date modified") into a 2014-12 folder. Why.
It's not just a video problem - some photos I took with devices that didn't record EXIF "date taken" are also filed into folders from this month, even though the "date modified" on them is correct as being from 5 years ago.
How can I rely on LR5 for importing and date-based organisation when it relies on files (lacking "date taken") having never been copied or backed up?

    Hello,
I use exiftool to modify the  Creation and Modification time of the files. After that I use LR "Ajust time" feature to set the time of the movies in LR to the file creation time (last point). This works fine for me.
    For MOV (Quicktime):
    exiftool "-FileModifyDate<TrackCreateDate"  "-FileCreateDate<TrackCreateDate"
    For AVI:
    exiftool "-FileModifyDate<DateTimeOriginal"  "-FileCreateDate<DateTimeOriginal" *.avi
Depnding on your camera (and container format mov, avi) you may also ajust the time zone, e.g.
    exiftool -FileModifyDate+=1 -FileCreateDate+=1 -if "$CameraModelName =~ /EOS 600D/i" *.mov
Which time in the container (MOV, AVI) you use as source, depends on your workflow. I edit my mov files before import. Therfore "CreateDate" is the time when I edited the file. Quicktime and (some) avi file contain a time when the containing stream was created. I use this vaule as source.
exiftool <filename> gives you detailed information about all available times.

  • Change date modified to date taken?

I have always thought that it was crazy that the EXIF data for my digital pictures can get changed in Windows/Adobe from date taken to date modified.  I have mentioned it in these forums before but never got a satisfactory answer.
I looked at the problem again & find that other have the same problem & that there appears to be a solution. I find on the net a small utility called.  'JPGDateChanger'.  Before I tried it I thought  that I should ask has anyone used this program & did it work correctly for them?  If the change that would appear in Windows explorer have the same result in PSE 11,or does it create problems with the catalog?
If at all possible I would prefer to get this done within PSE 11.  Is there any way to achieve it & if not why not?

The organizer that ships with the PRE Elements + PS elements 12 Combo pack uses the file systems Date Modified for organizing (win 8.1 64bit) . It does not  use the  Date Taken from the EXIF data.
This can be easily confirmed using Windows explorer.  If you sort in Explorer by modified date, that is exactly the order the files appear in Organizer.  If you add the Date Taken (by right clicking the column headers and adding the column) you can see the EXIF date taken field.  The organizer ignores this filed in favor of Date Modified.
The workaround is to use the little JPGchanger application referenced here to set the date modified to the date taken field.  This tool was specifically written to fix this issue.
The other proposed work around's involved renaming files to include date taken in the file name itself during import.  Not only is that clumsy, but I have already have 10,000+ pics  on my computer that aren't named that way.
My two Cameras are a Canon S90 and an ESO 550D.  I also have pictures from  Google Nexus5  and Samsung Galaxy phones to deal with. Not having the EXIF Date Taken field used is a MAJOR pain!
