Can deleted text be recovered

Lost some text messages I can't get back. Are they recoverable?

Possibly.
How do you backup? Do you connect the phone to iTunes? Using a third party app to pull the data from the backup is simplest.
There are applications that claim to be able to recover deleted data from iOS devices. I haven't used them & suspect it may not be possible, however if you plan on going this route you should power off the device & stop using it. Deleted data will be overwritten if you use the device & data recovery apps rely on the fact that data isn't removed until that part of the storage is overwritten.
The SMS database may also be 'purged' on a schedule, which clears out old data.

  • Help! Can deleted text messages be retrieved?

I need to retrieve several text messages that my son deleted.  Is there any way to do that, ie does it have a hard drive or something?
    Thanks
    Newbie User

There is not a way for YOU to retrieve them. Once deleted off the device, they are gone for you.
Your two options should it be majorly important, are:
    1. Do you have recent backup of the device on your PC? If so, was that backup made at such a time that those particular SMS messages would be in the backup?
    2. Hire a mobile device forensics company to see if the data is retrievable. This is costly, probably in the hundreds, if not a thousand dollars for service.
    3. A court order from a state court can retrieve records from your wireless carrier if the SMS messages are from a recent timeframe.

Can deleted text messages be recovered?

Only if they've previously been backed up.  You would then restore your phone from backup.  Otherwise, the answer is no.

    How can delete text messages

    Hi Berat saridas,
If you are having issues deleting a message on your iPhone, you may find the following article helpful:
How do I delete a Message?
You can delete a message by choosing More… after tapping and holding a message bubble in your current Messages conversation. Selected messages that will be deleted show a checkmark to the left. Tap the trash, in the bottom left corner, and choose Delete Message.
How do I delete an entire Message conversation?
You can delete a Messages conversation by sliding from right to left when viewing your list of current conversations or by tapping Edit and choosing the delete button to the left of the conversation.

  • How can I recover my deleted text messages

I need to recover some messages that I accidentally deleted

What can you do to recover deleted text messages from iPhone?
Step 1: Select Your iPhone Backup File and Scan
Launch the Coolmuster Data Recovery for iPhone/iPad/iPod program which you've installed on your Mac, then it will automatically scan the latest iPhone, iPad or iPod backup file on your local disk and display one by one as below picture shows. Just choose your iPhone and hit "Start Scan" button to start scanning for files on Mac.
Step 2: Preview and Find Target Files
After the scanning, all your iPhone files will be found and divided into different catogories. Here, you can click "Messages" option in the left panel and find your deleted text messages one by one.
    Step 3: Begin to Recover
Once all things have been done, you can click "Recover" to restore deleted text messages from iPhone on Mac. Here, a pop-up window will appear to require you to set the output folder.

  • How can I recover deleted texts on my iphone 5?

Does anyone know of a program that I can use to recover delted texts from my iphone 5 or is there a way I can do it from the phone?  First time ever needing to do this and not quite sure how to go about it...
Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

No I usually delete texts when they are annoying right away - scammers and things like that.  I feel like I have seen the same number more than once now though and I was curious if it was.  I think I can go through my cellular records and compare the numbers but would like to have the content to.  I will check to see if I have a back up for then but I doubt it - pretty sure I have backed up since then.
    Thanks!

  • HT201285 can anyone help me recover deleted messages i deleted and saw through the Spotlight feature?

I need help recovering my deleted text messages and coversations. I want to see the dates and all the info with them. can anyone help??

    Hello Brent208,
It sounds like you want to restore messages that have been deleted. If you have an iCloud backup you may be able to restore from a previous date that has the data you want to restore. Keep in mind that this will restore your entire device to the way it was on that date, and any new photos, videos, or app data that has been saved since then will be erased.
Before proceeding, be sure to back up your data to either iCloud or iTunes first:

Then use the following article to restore from your iCloud backup.

  • How do I recover a deleted text message if the phone has never been backed up/synced

How do I recover a deleted text message if the phone has never been backed up/synced.  Yes, I know, I know I should be backing up/syncing my phone . . . but that hasn't been yet.  So, can I still find the deleted text message?  If I sync for the first time will it also sync deleted messages?

Asking exactly the same question a second time will NOT get you a different answer.
You can not recover that which has been deleted and was never backed up.

how can i get back a very important text message i deleted by mistake.my phone is iphone 3g
    thank you

I'm going to post what I found via Google. As I understand, it works for some, not for others, so I'm not vouching for this, so do it at your own risk:
FACT: SMS messages remain on the iPhone after deletion. When “deleted” on the iPhone, they are technically hidden and marked for deletion. Text messages are then deleted only after sync with iTunes.
In order to recover a deleted text message or messages, run through the following 4 easy steps:
    STEP 1:
Make sure iTunes doesn’t automatically sync with iPhone when connected.
    STEP 2:
Connect your iPhone to iTunes and Back up by selecting Preferences > Backup from iTunes, or right-click on your iPhone and choose back up.
    STEP 3:
Restore your iPhone by selecting Restore under Preferences. Note that restoring the iPhone will restore the previous iPhone firmware. Your iPhone will be completely erased after the new firmware is installed. So make sure your back up is good!
    STEP 4:
The final step will be to restore your iPhone from the back up you created on step 2. This will allow you to restore any data you have backed up, including the “deleted” text messages.
    That’s it!
It’s important to distinguish between iPhone data restore and iPhone firmware restore.
iPhone data restore allows you to restore data you have already backup on iTunes. This is your photos, video, text messages…etc.
iPhone firmware restore is pretty much like a restore to factory switch. This will restore your iPhone to the previous firmware or system and no user data. This option is often recommended if your suspect that your iPhone OS or iOS is unstable.
