Can Designer 6i and connect to Oracle Server 9i?

we have designer6i version 6.5.52.5.0 and Oracle9i server release 2(9.2.0.1.0), and we need to create a repository on oracle9i and connect by designer6i, is it possible at all?

The first 6i Designer release to be certified against 9.2.0.1 is release 4.3., from the version number you have quoted I believe that you are at release 4.0

when I use oracle 11 and have it set in automatic (in services) it operates properly. (after restart) When I have it in manual (in services) i get the message 'Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:1158.'
We use the computer for various instructors but only one uses Oracle. With oracle in auto it takes for ever to log in (2 mins or more), when it is in manual it takes 10 secs for log in.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Ftp connection in oracle server

dear all,
i need some ideas...
Fact: We have an application made by programmers. This app enter a lot of external users through internet browsers. Now the application will have to upload PDF files and save into a directory. This files will be read with UTL_FILE in order to identify the file name.
We were thinking that we have to open an ftp connection (in oracle server) through this application in order to save the pdf files into directory (another server) but this directory will have to connect through NFS to my oracle server.
I think that this could be a potential risk in my oracle server if i open ftp...
can you give me some ideas o antoher ways in order to do that i want ???

Connectivity Through Oracle Server

The senario is that i have established Oracle 8.05 as a server and three Oracle 8 client in a LAN Environment.HOst naming Configuration technique make SQLPLUS of client to connect with Oracle server.i have also installed Developer 2000 on the CLient but the problem of connectivity of developer to oracle server bothers me so please give me some configuration technique about it asap

unfortunatly you do not describe your problem precisely, so i guess you can connect from sql-plus but not from developer.
you have to define your databases in both ORACLE_HOMES. the easiest way is to copy the TNSNAMES.ORA file from the ORACLE_HOME of SQLPLUS to the ORACLE_HOME of DEVELOPER.

XE error - "can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8080"

I installed XE on my laptop, os windows xp prof. v2002 sp2.
Database works fine, I can access with sql command line.
But can not access to database home page and apex.
Tried both links with both IE and Firefox;
http://localhost:8080/apex
http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
Same error I get; "can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8080."

I need your help. Im just a newbie in Oracle 11g. I'd just installed it last night and i found this problem:Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8080.
Can I ask what cause me to have that problem? Im using Windows XP, Service PAck 2.

Windows performed an automatic update. I am now unable to use Firefox. I receive an error message "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server". Windows IE works, Outlook works. What did Microsoft do to me this time?!!!

Windows performed an automatic update on my PC this morning. Now, Firefox does not work other than in SAFE mode. I get "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server..." I downloaded and reinstalled the latest version of Firefox and get the same error message. IE works. MS Outlook works. What did Windows do to me this time?

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

It sounds like the version of your OEM client is not the same as the version of your OMS. The versions must be the same.

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost

I was building a wordpress website on my PC: using Firefox browser, accessing wordpress through WebMatrix which opened Firefox & showed a 'localhost:20238' address. It worked for 5 days then WebMatrix said ' website does not exist. I could still load it for 1 day using browser history. Then that failed too. Have ditched WebMatrix. Now loaded XAMPP & Wordpress (shown as succesful). Putting 'localhost' into address box. Error message: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost.

Does it work in other browsers?
When you enter http://localhost/ Firefox will try port 80, since that is the standard for web servers. If there is any other software on your computer listening on port 80, the web server might not be able to use it. Can you check your XAMPP settings and try using a different port such as 8080? Then you would access the server using http://localhost:8080/.

Basically the message is saying the phone can't talk to the place where your email is stored for some reason. This could be an incorrect username/password, or some other issues. Follow the steps in this article and see if they help:

If OP wants that how many overall users are connected to his/her oracle server (which is having more than one db) then please tell us. Suppose 10 users are connected with db1 and 20 users are connected with db2.. like that.
