Can desktop manager be configured to view email attachment?

Hi,
I have posted this question few times before and still have not gotten a definite answer. Can someone confirm if I can configure the desktop manager to view email attachment? If so, how do I achieve it? I am not one BES or BIS.
I have looked at the below KB and tried using the application launcher to install the attachmen service, however, it was not available in the application loader wizard.

First of all if you are nither BES nor BIS then there is no question of integrating email IDs in your device. Meaning no possibility of viewing email attachment in your device. For using any BlackBerry features you have to have a BlackBerry data plan. Please clarify this point.
Now regarding attachment viewing through Desktop Manager configuration is not possible. There is no such option in BlackBerry.

  • Desktop manager and Home and Work email

    Hi folks,
I have Desktop Manager installed on both my home and work computers. At home, email is grayed out and I can do nothing as it says I do not have a connection to the server.
At work, it is active, but only addresses my work email from the Exchange Server and not my personal email which is set up through Blackberry and works on my phone. But sometimes I like to change the signature, etc.
Is there no way to get both on one or both instances of Desktop Manager to avaiod having to go to att.blackberry.com for personal email configuration?
    Thanks!
    ~Bob

But your personal email is NOT on BES... those are two totally different animals.
ON BIS the Desktop Manager has nothing to do with mail and messages.

  • How do I delete downloads for Adobe flash to I can up date?  I cannot view email videos without updating.

How do I remove my old Adobe Flash download?  I cannot view videos my children have sent via e-mail without upgrading Adobe Flash.  Instructions directed me to remove the old download if I was having trouble.  I now have 7 downloads and can't get any Adobe videos.  thank you

It is not that they are sending flash videos.  Any video they send via there Mac or phone seem to need the update for me to view.  Since one family is abroad and my youngest, a musician, lives across the country they keep me in their lives with videos.  With the musician I can get videos on itunes but not in an e-mail or his website.  I always have a note come up that I need to upgrade Adobe to see the video.   I have tried dragging the multiple downloads to trash but they don't get removed.  thanks for replying

  • Q: how can I get acrobat to print my email attachment?

I need someone to help me with acrobat to print something.

Thank you for your interest, and I appreciate your inquiring further, but I'm not sure this forum is going to be effective for my problem unfortunately.  Nevertheless, here's my situation:
    1. Recently McAfee was replaced by my server with Norton.  I believe when they uninstalled McAfee, they took my Adobe Acrobat with it.
    2.  I rec'd a "receipt" in my email (for a totally different and unrelated purchase) which I need to print.  I need Adobe Acrobat to do it.
    3.  I tried installing Adobe myself (severely techie-challenged) from adobe.com, and up came something about "purchasing" different types of Adobe Acrobat stuff. Nevertheless, I believe I did download Adobe, but I still can't print my receipt.
    4.  I really would like to speak with a customer svc rep and not handle this via this forum.  Again, I am flying in the dark here with trying to follow "simple" instructions about downloading, and of course, it was not successful.  I'd really appreciate speaking with a live human to handle this.  If there is an 800# I can call to connect with a techie who can help me solve this via telephone, I'd like to see it here.  (800-833-6687 led me to this forum).
    Thank you.

  • Multiple Email Accounts on Desktop Manager?

Are there any plans to add functionality to the desktop manager to manage all of the email accounts in my phone? I have some accounts that aren't in outlook that only need to be sent to my phone, and I was wondering if you can manage multiple accounts, can you manage accounts that aren't in outlook. I had to use the email site to setup my accounts to begin with which is fine, but if I have to fine tune things, I don't always want to have to sign into it.

apart from BES users (= Corporate BlackBerry), the Desktop Manager does not deal with emails except for making backups.
Your device can get up to 9 email addresses, you just have to configure that by going on the BIS website of your carrier.

  • Desktop manager wants to delete calendar appointments in both bb and outlook.

I have had my bb 8330 since last August.  I have had to delete and reinstall desktop manager multiple times due to various problems.  Recently I sync'd and lost appointments in both the bb and in outlook.  DM will not allow me to override the flagging to delete.  I deleted DM and reinstalled the newest version with media, attempted to resync and it still wants to delete.  Currently I have 40+ appointments in the bb that are not in outlook (they had been at some point).  I also have appointments in Outlook that the sync wants to delete from the bb.  On top of this, I have lost contacts I didn't realize until I tried to use them (appear to have been deleted by the bb from my outlook).
The "Details to confirm calendar edits" window box in desktop manager allows clicking to view the entry but does not allow me to override the status of either delete or add so I cannot change the deletions to additions, etc.
I looked in the options in DM to see if there was a place where I could change a setting which would allow me to override the status but couldn't find anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Otherwise I think the only way to fix it is to write down all of my appointments in both the bb and outlook, attempt a sync and re-enter all the appointments again.  Time consuming!!  And if I need to do that I may as well go back to a hardcopy calendar.
A friend suggested that if there is too much data in the bb that it will only keep the newest entries and maybe that is why I have lost some data.
So, along those lines can someone tell me how to do a mass delete of e-mails on the bb directly?  I know how to delete one e-mail but cannot figure out how to flag more than one.
    Thanks!  motomom3

on the device if you open messages, highlight the newest one you want to delete, click menu button, and click delete prior, this will delete eveything older than it.
if you plug into DTM, goto backup/restore - advanced... you can completely clear the messages database
what DTM and device sofwtare do you have?
    DTM- help-about
device- options- about, 3rd line down, v4.x.x.x
you can go to c:\documents and settings\(your username)\research in motion\blackberry\   and delete the intellisync folder
then go in and setup sync settings again

  • Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.1 stops works when I connect by bold 9780

    Hi
I've downloaded Desktop Manager 6.1 but when I attach my Bold 9780 and it starts to initialise the connection I get a dialogue box up saying "The destop manager has stopped working". Windows looks for a solution but can't find one. Following some suggestions on this forum, I saved the software and unzipped it manually but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions.

  • Email stops when I connect to Desktop Manager

I got a new 8520 recently and on Monday. Hooked it up to my PC and transferred all my Address Book Contacts & Calendar to the phone using Desktop Manager.
Next day I got the activation code from my company and put it in and hey presto I was getting emails. Next day I connected it back up to my PC to make some changes to my Calendar and after that the emails stopped.
I had to get a new activation code and it was back online however the day after that after I connected again to Desktop Manager it stopped receiving emails again. Back receiving emails again after getting another activation code.
Speaking to others in my company who have BB, they have said their contacts & calendar automatically update on the phone when they change it on their PC but it doesn't happen on mine.
Any ideas to help me out? Where am I going wrong?
After the first time I got the activation code and connected to the PC, it wouldn't sync the Address Book Contacts as it said it was set up for wireless synchronisation but I never set that up?

    Hello!
By "Activation Code", are you referring to Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES)? If so, you need to go see your BES admins for assistance as they control everything. Further, if you are on BES, there is no need to synchronize any of your Outlook data via the Desktop Software -- with BES, all of that synchronizes Over The Air (OTA)...that is one of the key benefits of BES. For me, the only use I have for the Desktop Software is to backup/restore my BB and update the installed applications...no data regarding Outlook needs to be reconciled via the Desktop Software.
On the other hand, if your configuration is not BES, then please clarify just what it is as I can't tell from what you've described so far.
    Thanks!

  • Desktop Manager "disconnected" and I can't get rid of the error message

I just purchased a Blackberry Curve 8530, running v5 software, my computer is Windows 7. I installed the 501_b073_multilanguage software that I downloaded from Blackberry's website. When I launch the Desktop manager I get this message: "Before you begin, verify that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer." The troubleshooting posts I've seen on this forum include many tips (the ones I've tried are below). One in particular I can't do is "The desktop manager is showing "disabled."
-Make sure that the user has gone into the desktop manager and selected options > connection settings > detect."
... because I can't get rid of the error message dialoge box, and I can't click on the options menu in the BB Desktop Manager.
    I have tried the following:
uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice - 2nd uninstall was a "hard" uninstall where I deleted the registry files by hand
moved the cable to the USB port in the back (after trying both the ports in the front) of the computer
    restarted the computer many times
hard booted the phone by removing the battery
plugged in, removed, and replugged in the phone.
    Also:
The phone is installing correctly when I plug it in, but the software still doesn't seem to see it.
In the Device Manager, the BlackBerry is showing up under Portable Devices. Double-clicking on it gives me the reassurring "This device is working properly." message.
The Com1 port is working properly also, according to the Device Manager.
Double-clicking on the device manager icon to get the properties shows that the Com1 port is "disconnected" -- when I try to configure it it just pops back to the disconnected state.
If someone has an idea or something I haven't tried I'd sure appreciate it!!
    Thanks!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Okay, folks, after a 3 1/2 hour phone call with a (very patient) telephone support person at Blackberry, here's what I learned.
You can check your USB drivers this way:
Plug in your phone into your USB drive. Assuming your Blackberry is "seen" by your computer...
Go into the Device Manager on your computer (control panel)
Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers item on the bottom of the list
Right-click on BlackBerry Smartphone and choose Properties
    Click on the Driver tab
Click on the Driver Details button
You should see one driver. I saw two. The one the BlackBerry likes is the RimUsb one.
So here's what NOT to do: We tossed the entire driver that was the "extra". This effectively made using my mouse and keyboard impossible, as they are USB, and sent my poor husband into the basement to find a million-year-old keyboard (and then a mouse) with the old fashioned kind of connectors (PS2). Bleh. Don't do that.
Here's what I did that worked (not saything this will work for you -- this modifies the Registry so better do a system backup with that backup and restore if you're nervous about this sort of thing):
From the start menu, choose run, and type regedit to get into the Registry editor.
Follow this file path: Computer, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Control, Class
    Click on: {36FCE60-C465-11CF-8056-4445535400000}
If there's an item on the right called "UpperFilters", delete it. (see pictures)
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Uncaught error java nullpoint exception, email icons disappeared, application loader unable to back up data, desktop manager unable to connect

    Model:  Curve 8900
    Provider: At&t
    Platform: 4.2.0.108
I'm ready to throw this phone in the blender.... if I could only back up my data first. A couple of months ago the What's App application required an update. I updated it and ever since my phone has steadily had more and more issues. First, I kept getting this uncaught error message, shortly thereafter the 2 email accounts (both gmail) that I have linked to the account disappeared. The message icon shows that I have messages, but icons not there (I have tried the show all option). At one point the message icon started exponentially adding the number of messages until it got up to over 86,000. When I reboot the phone it goes back down and then steadily increases again... usually though it's more to 400 - 500 rather then tens of thousands. I have been trying to install updates and do a wipe of the BB so that I can start from scratch, unfortunately the application loader is unable to back up data. The desktop manager is unable to connect to the blackberry and indicates that an upgrade is required. I have tried doing the upgrade both directly from the phone and connected to the desktop manager, but nothing seems to work. If I try to upgrade the software directly from the BB, I get to the start download button and when I click, nothing happens. I have removed all applications except bberry app world and one game that I play, Pixelated Plus. Still nothing. Any ideas?

Do you want to save the messages?
If not (and I think they are the problem) open the Desktop Software > Device > Delete Data and click the "select Data" option. Select the Messages to remove. Complete the prompts and finish.
Then, return to backup the entire device, and see if that is possible to complete this time with no messages.
Now, once the back up is done and you have your data, you can disconnect the device.
Now, use BBSAK to wipe the device and subsequently load the new operating system.
**If you cannot complete the backup again above, you might have to do without it, OR you can use the Desktop Software to sync your Address book, calendar, memos and tasks to Outlook. OR, you can easily install and use BlackBerry Protect to backup your device over the air to RIM servers, then once wiped and the new OS reloaded, you can use Protect to restore the data back to the 8900. << This you should do regardless.
Good luck, post back here as you have questions.
