Can downloaded ESD license media be burned to DVD?
Can downloaded ESD license media software be burned to DVD to be used for installation on multiple systems after being downloaded by one system?
Yes. As long as it's not serialized/ activated in any way, it's just your bog standard installer file.

How do I save my video in jpeg format so I can add picture to it and burn a DVD through Photo Explosion version 4
LRP
Thanks for the follow up.
In Premiere Elements 13/13.1, your export choices are in the Publish+Share section of the project. There are several choices and sub-choices.
Example: Publish+Share/Computer/and then a list of choices under that, such as, MPEG, AVI, AVCHD, XAVC-S, Windows Media, QuickTime, Image, Audio.
And each has Presets which define the export settings. Adobe offers default settings which are usually optimized ones. But, it also allows you to customize the preset selected. You do that by clicking on the Advanced Button of the selected preset and customizing the settings under the Video Tab, Audio Tab, and, if applicable, Multiplexer Tab.
From what you wrote, I thought that you might be asking about exporting a video with a video codec = Photo JPEG.
To do that you would to to
Publish+Share
Computer
QuickTime
with Presets = either the one for 4:3 of 16:9 as appropriate for your project,
and then clicking on the Advanced Button, and then the Video Tab under the Advanced Button.
Then selecting Photo JPEG for the video codec field.
Tip: The QuickTime choice is not seen unless you scroll down the list of Computer choices. Use the thin scroll bar to the right of the Computer choices.
Please explore Premiere Elements 13/13.1's Publish+Share/Disc/DVD with standard or widescreen preset for your creation of the DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc.
The Premiere Elements timeline destined for this choice could consistent of supported photos and or videos.
Please consider.
Any questions and need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.

Now that iDVD is discontinued what can I use alongside iMovie to burn a dvd
I have managed to transfer all my old home videos onto my computer but the instructions are to transfer them from iMovie directly into iDVD to burn them to disc. I dont have iDVD installed and have tried various other methods but cannot make a copy. I have installed miDVD and have managed to burn a dvd using this but there is no sound. Please help but keep it simple as I am not very good with computer jargon. Thanks.
I don't know your iMac model number, you didn't supply it. But if it shipped with an OS X version prior to Lion, you should have 2 grey DVDs. The 2nd grey DVD may have included iLife applications.
Otherwise, the only source would be a retail iLife 011 DVD. You may be able to find one on eBay. -

I guess you can see how new i am to this, I typed my whole question in the subject. Any way, i bought this macbook pro used, no disks, need to do a complete wipe and reinstall. is there anywhere i can download the install disks to burn to dvd? Or buy either one, or maybe even a later version? Im running 10.6.8 currently. Thanks in Advance! Terry
First determine what system you really have.
Apple menu -> About This Mac.
If it is 10.7, you don't need installer discs, because there is a recovery partition:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4848
If indeed it is 10.6.something then you'll want to call AppleCare for the discs.
http://www.apple.com/contact/phone_contacts.html
If they determine the machine is older than 10.6's initial release (August 28, 2009), you'll want to purchase 10.6 retail, and/or 10.7 retail from the Apple Store.
Regardless, backup your data first*:
http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
And read the benefits of both 10.6 and 10.7:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2455
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2465
and determine which can run on your machine, and decide which you want to have. -

.avi file to Quicktime - Burn to DVD
Hello,
I am trying to get a movie file to burn on my IMAC. I am not sure what I need to buy/ download to do this.
I have gone through the forums and tried downloading DiVX and VLC and both will play the file but how do I get it to play in Quicktime or IMovie so I can burn it to DVD or put it on a IPod Video?
Do I need QuickTime PRo or DiVX Pro??
What all do I need to do to play the movies I have downloaded from my PC in a .avi format. Windows Media player played the file in my PC but when I downloaded Windows Media Player for my Mac it did not work. I used my USB key and moved the video to my IMAC and only DiVX and VLC will play it but I am not sure what to do/ buy next so I can burn the movie file or transport it to my 30GB IPod Video.
Please help and Thank you, Crystal
IMAC and MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.8)Hi Crystal.
If you've put divx on your mac, you MAY have the right codecs installed. However, just to be on the safe side, I'd install perian ( http://www.perian.org ) which covers most xvid / divx / ac3 codecs
So, once you have the codecs installed, play the movie in quicktime. If you can get this far, great.
Buy quicktime pro, which I still believe is a bargain for what you get. This will then enable you to EXPORT the movie as a quicktime movie, which you can use in imovie, etc for burning to dvd. You can also use quicktime for converting into mp4 / quicktime for ipods
This is the route I use.... exporting via quicktime isn't quick but it works.
Regards,
Paul
PS: Just tested this method using a windows media file. Worked fine (apart from the flip4mac codec announcing itself on the finished movie!) -
Exporting photos & Burning a DVD-R
I have an album with some pics I'd like to send to a relative. I can't export the album - nothing happens. I have to make a slideshow first, then export the slideshow to a folder, insert a DVD-R, and
drag the folder to the DVD in the Finder. However the result is a QuickTime movie (of course, it's a
slideshow). How can I export the pics and burn a DVD so the result is not a movie. I just want to
view these pictures on my DVD player one-by-one. Does this make sense ?? Thankx for a quick reply........pfalcon.You want to create a slideshow in iDVD.

While using my Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 to burn a DVD-R I keep getting the error message: "This disc can't be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media."
So, I tried the iDVD and got the same error message.
Can anyone out there help me? I've tried both a DVD - R, and a CD.
I made a short 2:20 minute presentation from iMovie and used the "share" to iDVD, then to iTunes, then I tried exporting it to Quicktime and saved it on my desk top. That is when I tried burning by opening the blank DVD-R in the finder then draging the movie on to it and selecting the burn option. Thank you for your time in helping me with this frustrating problem.
Peace, PyxidisI have had that same problem, but it was unrelated to any upgrade.
In my case the optical drive was simply failing, and I replaced it - it was a Powerbook, about eight years old.
It is possible that it's unrelated to Lion, as unlikely as this may seem, since you've just upgraded.
Optical drives seem to be the most life-limited component in these computers. The laser just seems to get weak with age. -
I downloaded a movie from iTunes. I wanted to burn a DVD of the movie which I could play on my home entertainment system. After I had burned the DVD I tried to play the movie from it on the computer and got the message " You can't open the application mediaioserver because it may be damaged or incomplete". What is this all about? Are there settings I need to change? PS: I tried to play the DVD on my home DVD player and it also doesn't work. Help!
Klaus: Does this mean that I can only watch this movie on my computer and ipad not on my home big screen system?

i have a late 2011 macbook pro i want to reinstall os lion 10.7 so when i reboot hold down options key click on recovery hd then in the os x utilities screen it says reinstall mac os x is there any way i can save this download so i can burn to dvd

Sorry ... I read but was unfortunately distracted from your original post. You have a system that came with Lion. The Lion that is on your system is only for your computer and cannot be downloaded from the app store again because you never purchased it officially through the App Store.
Try this for making an external USB/DVD copy of Recovery on an external disk. internet is still required for reinstall, though, I believe: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4848. But at least you have a separate Recovery Partition if you ever need a fully new and empty internal disk.
Your assumption is incorrect. Although he may not be able to download it from the App store he can download it directly for the Apple servers using the recovery partition on his original drive.
All you have to do is start the install routine and then point the install to an external hard drive. Once the download is finished the computer will reboot to start the install. At that reboot disconnect the external drive so the install can not start. Boot the computer back into the OS on the internal hard drive, which is what will happen automatically once the external drive is disconnected. Then connect the external and copy the files from it that were downloaded. Right click on that downloaded package file and select Show contents. In the contents of that package is a file called InstallESD.DMG. Copy that file out of the package and burn it down to a DVD or USB thumb drive and you now have the Full Lion Installer. I have several of them laying around on different hard drives and 2 USB thumb drives which I have used to reinstall Lion on my 15" MBP.
Sorry OP I should of just typed this out in my first post. -
How can I burn a dvd now that I can't download premiere pro cs6 with Encore?
How can I burn a dvd now that I can't download premiere pro cs6 with Encore?
Here's what you do to get Premiere CS6 + Encore:
Just click here (it's the same link as the more information link in CC.)
or
Go to your Creative Cloud application (on the menu bar) and go to Adobe Premiere CC and click more information
There is a dropdown menu that says "Adobe Premiere Pro CC" near the top.
Click it and the other option is "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6." Select that.
Now on the top right corner of the page it has a download button that says "Download Adobe Premiere Pro CS6."
It is included in your CC subscription.
However, a word of warning, you cannot use Adobe Dynamic Link to link to a Premiere CC sequence directly in Encore. A CS6 sequence still works fine, but if you have a CC project, you will need to encode your sequence into a DVD friendly format (MPEG2 file). I'm really hoping that Adobe changes this in their upcoming release, and just adds the ability to import CC sequences into Encore, then I would be fine with them not including it in the normal CC package, or updating it. But I haven't seen anything about it in the release notes.
A lot of people still want their DVDs and it's a lot easier to just dynamically link the sequence. -
