You can search the entire internet by putting that error message into google, see what other discussions appear.
With only the little information you've provided, I'd trash Compressor and download it again from the App Store.
You could share the timeline out to MPEG2 and then import that into iDVD, if you have it, or Toast.
Given an hour or three, someone with better suggestions will soon chime in.

AH...good.
There is no limit on the times you can install it from the DVDs. There's just a limit as to being able to run it on multiple machines AT THE SAME TIME. If your old computer dies, or you sell it (please reformat the drive so they don't get FCP for free), then you can install on a new computer fine. And you are allowed to install on (1) desktop and (1) laptop at the same time as well...but only use it on one machine at any given time. Meaning you can use it on the desktop at work, and then when away from the office, on your laptop.
Long story short...you can install it fine without any issues.

When using the Clip Trimmer, you click DONE to indocate that you are finished.
The Trim To Selection is a great tool and I use it all the time, but you use it in the main project timeline, not the clip trimmer. Just select the frames you want so that the yellow border is around them. Then right-click and select Trim to Selection.

What exactly is your problem? Is it, (a) your Mac doesn't read your external disk, or, (b) you can't retrieve your videos, or, (c) you can't play them, or, (d) you were able to play them at one point, but not any more.

Use the Mac App Store application and go to the purchased tab, which you'll find at the top of the Mac App Store window.

I have invested over 6 hours on the phone and with my Verizon Authorized Rep. trying to get the Bonus 1 Gig of Data for myself on the More Plus Plan. Cut and dry situation but today was told I have to wait about 7 days until they can get me "an answer" o

Basic question is why are any of the minimun 8 Verizon reps that I or my Authorized Verizon Rep (at Costco) spoke with unable to resolve a very simple, straightforward issue that should have been resolved in 15 minutes max. Instead I (a 14 year verizon customer) have been given the runaround and have invested over 6 1/2 hours in trying to get someone to acknowledge that I an owed 1 GB of Bonus Data on my new phone on our new plan. My wife got hers. I am just venting now as I intend on returning the phone tomorrow (I got it Thursday) and turning around and getting an identical new phone. This was suggested to me as an option by both the Rep who sold my wife her phone and the rep who sold me mine as that way I would not have to contiinue dealing with this ridiculous state of affairs (they indicated that my Free gig request was being sent to another department and that it would be about 7 days befor they get an answer). No I was considerate, etc. The root of the problem stems from the fact that when I went to get my new phone I asked the salesperson if I should sign up for the new plan or if my wife should do it the following day when she buys her new phone (also at a Costco but in a different state). The salesperson said it made absolutely no difference so I elected to have my wife do it. When she did the next day she got her free Gig and her salesperson told her that I need to call in to make sure I get the gig that I am entitled to as well. That's when the runaround started with the first call consisting of me basically advising Verizon of what the promotion consists of, etc.since they insisted that it was one gig per Plan, that there were no exceptions to this, etc. As mentioned they wanted to know where I got the information that it was one gig per qualifying phone. (Both the rep and her supervisor obviously were not aware of how Verizons heavily touted More Everything plan works). They told me finally that I needed to go back to the Costco where I got the phone. I did. The salesperson apologized numerous times to me for advising me that it made no difference who signs up for the plan or when. She then spent over two hours on the phone (with me next to her) attempting to explain to Verizon what happened, how it was her fault, and how I was clearly entitled to the Bonus Gig since I also had a qualifying phone. Finally she was transferred to someone who authorized the Bonus Gig (since I was clearly entitled to it) and who indicated that it might take 24 hours to show up on my new Plan. 72 hours later, no change, and the runaround continues some more. The only reason I even came to this forum was to let off some steam since no one could give me an answer.. It's clear that I am entitled to the Bonus Gig yet the last supervisor I spoke with told me that he could only pass the request on to another department via e-mail (no direct contact, etc. even though I gave him the name and employee # of the Verizon rep who indicated the Bonus was approved) and that an answer should be forthcoming in about 7 days. I was very cordial with everyone I spoke with as I understand that they take their direction from the top. The countless hours I have spent dealing with this situation is something that no-one should have to go through, particularily someone who has been a Verizon Plan customer since about year 2000. Everyone seems to agree that I am entitled to the free gig but no one seems to be in a position to help this customer. Its a horrible way to treat someone. I talked with the original saleslady today and told her I would be in tomorrow to turn in the phone and get a new one along with the gig I was entitled to. She said that would be fine and wouldn't be a problem but that she would be happy to try calling Verizon once again to try to resolve the issue. I indicated that I'm done with wasting time taliking with well-meaning and courteous (and I assume underpaid) employees who I assume are pretty much directed from above that any concessions they make, even if the customer is entitled to them, will reflect badly on their employee evaluations . Good thing I am retired or I would really be worked up. They only way I would consider even talking to Verizon anymore on this is if they were to waive the $60 in upgrade fees my wife and I paid for the new phones. HOW can I FIX Mavericks and Safari 7.0 to allow Gmail to work? Gmail has been FUBAR'd since downloading Mavericks today. Finally found the brute-force logout site to just getr logged out; can't keep doing that. Other features no longer work, either.

Made big mistake of downloading Mavericks today.
Been struggling with all the FUBARd messes it caused, ALL DAY.
Google basic buttons don't work--can't log out or other basic functions.
Website use is impaired.
It took almost 3 hours to do a basic online order on one of them--at this rate, I'll be out of business soon, and it's seriously impairing Christmas preparations!
Google Voice/Video are screwed up, had to RE-download their voice/video plugin all over again--again.
Voice/video quality is REALLY poor.

Mac Maps is piddle compaired with GoogleMaps.
The Email program on the desktop is REALLY hard to use, has few useful functions. It's MAYbe good if one only has ONE email; using it with severeal various email accounts is a serious liability in many ways--like filing, sorting, marking, etc.; no clear way to move email files to an external drive to save, to unload the HD.
HOW can Safari and Mavericks be fixed?

It's a shiney new computer. Came loaded with Mountain Lion.
Too busy learning to use the blessed thing, to download anything....except...
The only pluggin that had to be loaded, was Google Voice-Video pluggin, while Lion was still it's OS. [AND been using the Safari that came already in it.]   Had to do that a couple times--nothing new there--that plug-in had to be re-loaded when using a PC, too--THAT happened even before Google slammed everyone into coerced use of it's Google+.
    [I understood from others, that Firefox won't work in Mac units--or I woulda put that in it to see if that solved anything]
This unit seemed a bit sluggish from the git-go, out-of-the-box.
I figured that was probly the local DSL here---rural DSL is...um...our DSL's not something to brag about, but it's the best we can do...
The difference between speed of loading pages, etc. on the new Mac, was --not-- toooo terribly different--though yes, slower on Mac....and chalked it up to my inexperience with Mac.
Been trying to get things up and running for a bit over a month now.
NOT doing very well at it--just barely getting by; rapidly falling behind what needs done [work].
Google worked just --OK-- when OS was Lion, as did the Google voice/video--slower, and voice-video was kinda scratchy or glitchy, but worked enough to --get by--.
Loading Mavericks, ruined that.
VOIP calls via Google talk have bad echio, static, cut-outs; video calling was pixilated or not working; WAS cued to re-load it's Voice-Video plug-in....which seemed to help a bit, though not very well; it only helped the Voice-Video some, not all--figured that was probably Google issues, less than Mac's, since Google has been increasingly dysfunctional as they have twisted it to be a social media-dominant thing.

Can't sign out of Gmail or Google+, nor use buttons in upper right corner with the drop-down menu.
NO buttons in upper right corner cluster on Gmail work, except the name+ button to toggle over to Google+---which I don't need! [yeah--THAT's a Google problem!]
Can only switch to HTML version by catching that button as the account signs in--if one fails to be fast enough with their fingers, it goes to Google+; can't get to email unless type in mail.google.com.
Managed to catch that button today, and clicked to use HTML "permanently" until these issues get solved.
ALSO:
Have fairly new [about 1 year?] HP bluetooth printer-scanner.
BUT, after Mavericks loaded: it HAS the unit listed, HAS drivers for it, HP unit IS listed as default printer, everything --seems-- "go",
.....except Mac keeps posting it's out of ink, and/or, not hooked up, and/or not turned on--even when it is on.
It's SUPPOSED to be blue-toothing that printer/scanner.
It did it for Lion, before loading Mavericks, even though it was troublesome to get it to work, it at least HAD printed one document when Lion was the OS.

Can you afford a new Thunderbolt case and cable? any case with FW800 is going to be slow 72MB/sec and less, and any new 1TB drive is capable of 75MB/s minimum up to 125MB/sec.
Thunderbolt storage can of course when setup properly reach 100's of MB higher using multiple drives.
Use what you have for a system backup or for secondary backup storage.
you might be able to take the drive - most cases allow you to open and swap drives - and use this:

But, I want to make sure that we are together on the details. This is my understanding of what you have written. Please review and let me
know if I am misinterpreting anything that you have written.
You have a video created in Windows Movie Maker.
How did you output the video from Windows Movie Maker...wmv or mp4, what was the frame size and frame rate of that export?
Next you import that video into Premiere Elements 12 (can we assume that this is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?)
From what you wrote, you have applied a pan and zoom effect to your video in Premiere Elements.
Now you go to export the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content with your video with the pan and zoom applied.
But, the pan and zoom effect is not seen in playback of the export.
Is all of the above correct so far?
If so....we are going to need some more details from you...
a. What is the project preset that you or the project are setting to match the properties of the video coming from Movie maker? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
b. Are you applying the pan and zoom effect with the Pan and Zoom Tool, fx Effects Presets, or keyframing the Scale (for Zoom) and
Position (for Pan) in the Motion Panel expanded?
c. What are you selecting as your export in Publish+Share/. Please give details...are you using default settings or customizing the export
setting under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
I am suspecting some sort of mismatch of your project settings or some problems with working with the Pan and Zoom tool. I need
your answers to help me help you. If I have written anything that you do not understand, please let me know. I will re-write if necessary
so that we are in sync to resolve the issue.

I need to put three parts together. I tried adding duplicates of the song to the list but if If I change the start time on one it will change it on all of them.

In your library, right-click the song you want to edit.
select "get info".
go to "options" and select the start and stop times for your first section of the song.
click "OK".
Find the shortened version of the song in your library. It may take a minute for it to show up. right click it again and select "create (????) version". (the ???? is different for different formats).
The library will spit out a new, second version of the song which you can rename. I suggest you use the original title and add a 1 to the end.
Now you can go back to the other version and repeat the process with a different start/stop time.
Once you are done editing, you can burn all of your versions to a disk, just make sure your interval time is zero so there are no gaps between edits.
To keep the orginal song on your library, just go back to the original and put the start/stop times back to the original settings.
