Can EFI update be rolled back?

I installed the EFI update and now my e-sata drive I use for Time Machine won't mount. Worked perfectly before the update.
Is there any way to roll it back to the previous version?

No. It would be nice if Apple were to offer that option,
but currently they don't.

After upgrading to 10.7.0, I got problem with 5.1 digital out sound on my MBP Early 2011.
Then, I decided to upgrade to 10.7.2 for developer to make the sound working again.
But what a pity, the 5.1 digital out sound did not work either.
Now, Apply release an update 10.7.1 for MBP.
I did download 10.7.1 to my computer but it was not be able to upgrade.
Could you please help me how to install 10.7.1 over 10.7.2 or return to 10.7.0 then I will upgrade my MBP to 10.7.1?
Please note that I don't have any backup or TimeMachine active on my MBP.
Please do not tell me to format my HDD because there are a lot of files that I am working on them.

Rolling back to previous version of Spotify and preventing update

I thougth people might find it useful to know after not liking the recent update 0.9.15.27 I tried rolling back to previous versions of Spotify using instructions from another community post. These are the results I had roughly
Very early versions 0.49.285 to 0.5.2.44 automatically updated to the most recent version of Spotify which as of today Iis 0.9.15.27
06.2.240-..0.6.5 installed fine but all my friends were gone I seemed to be able to add them if they subscribed to my playlists but updating their activity was dubious at best
0.8.0.952-0.8.3.22 all rolled me up to 0.8.3.22 Still no friends list
From version 0.8.8.50 my friends returned as did Starred tracks which I like
I think from 0.9.10.22 Spotify was able to update itself again to the latest version

UPDATE: Im not sure at which release this fix does not start working but I had went with 0.9.11.27 and even though when I checked the information it said I still had that version my activity feed changed to the new round pics of my friends. I have went back to 0.8.8.50 as that is the first release where my full friends list returned and have quit and restarted and still remains on this version so my further advice is you may have to try this a couple of times and if it auto updates try rolling back to an older release until you find a compromise of one you like that also WONT auto update as at some stage Spotify must have altered the way the programs update.
It would also be useful if you could restart your machine and check that your version does not auto update then post which one you are on so we can figure out where the fix works until and once we know more I will update this first post from feedback

Just an update from my end... Initially I downloaded 0.9.11.27 and got the old activity feed! I vowed I would never restart Spotify (I hate the new feed that much as it simply changes the experience completely for me). This morning Spotify would not play anything so I had to restart and, alas, the new dreaded feed!!! BUT, then I got the banner asking me to restart to download the latest version of spotify; I did as I already had the new feed again. Yet, after the update (It updated to 0.9.15.27)I now have the old wonderful activity feed again!!! Not sure how to explain that...

You should talk to each other at Adobe because it's fustrating to loose so much time repeating the same thing over and over. Since 7.2.1, if I create a projet with 7.2.1, the only problem I will have with XMF files is that sometime several differents MXF files will appear as the same clip in Premiere Pro. So for exemple, I will have 1.MXF 2.MXF, 3.MXF, 4.MXF, that are all continious clips of the same video but in Premiere Pro 7.2.1, all those clips will be the same one with 1,2,3 and 4 in it... Hard to explain as English is not my first language.
But, the real problem starts when I open a projet that has been created with a previous update of PPcc. In that case, half of the edited clips will display parts of the clip that are later or sooner in the full clip. But, if I roll back to 7.0.0 everything is back to normal. But, if I use 7.0.0 to open a 7.2.1 projets, my MFX files are hatched and not playable. But if I return in 7.2.1 to read a 7.2.1 projet, the files are unhatched and back to normal. To had some weirdness, since I'm not able to roll back AME even with costumer support, if I open a projet created with 7.0.0 and opened with 7.0.0, if I use the last version AME, it will export a mess-up video has I could see in my timeline if I was working with 7.2.1. But as 7.0.0 restore my timeline, I can see my perfect timeline in PP but I can only export it using the internal encoder since de last version of AME keeps the bug of 7.2.1.
Everithing was fine in the last version (except the fact that now PP consider 2 different audio channels from the same camera as a stereo pair)
So now I have 3 problem:
I'm late on my schedule because of all this mess and slow costumer support that take control of my computer to try basics stuff and gives my bad advices
I have to update and roll back Premiere Pro 3 to 4 times a day to work on all my projects
I'm still not able to roll back AME even if I follow your indications so I have to export my video 1 by 1

Hi, To roll back to Windows 8 you need to log into Windows without that it wont be possible. Or you have to use set of recovery disk to reinstall the Windows 8 using the recovery option. ROLL BACK:

Roll back User deleted

Hi,
I have deleted a user in my database by accident. How do i restore it. My database is oracle Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production (RAC) working on solaris 5.0
Can any one help how to restore(i want the user back) the user? Please help

OrionNetThat's a wrong advice to say that we can use Flashback to roll back a user drop operation. This is not possible with Flashback. Only with whole database being flashbacked ,it may be done but that's sort of like killing an ant with an missile. The simplest would be to get an export of the user's schema and import it to a newly created one.
The mentioned blog link also doesn't show the user rollback and the same is asked to the writer in the comment section.

I have a 2 JAR files deployed under one OC4J instance. JAR A contains a stateless session bean. JAR B contains a set of Entity beans. My SSLB bean uses Container manager transactions with a transaction attribute of 'Required', as do my entity beans.
When I debug the application, I see that after I call create() on one of the entity beans, from my SSLB, the new row is committed to the database, even though the calling SSLB method, which supposedly started the transaction, is not finished. I then force the transaction to Rollback, by throwing EJBEception, the logs say the transaction was rolled back, but the record still exists in the database. This has been driving me nuts!!!! Can anyone please help????
As an aside I created a kind of dummy app, with the entity bean and the sslb deployed in the same JAR file, the sslb has a declared ejb reference to the entity bean in the deployment descriptor. I can get transactions to roll back here no problem!!!!

I was explicitly creating the context to which I was doing the entity lookup. I was using a Service Locator that was previously developed, and for OC4J environments, it was setting the dedicated.connection variable to true. This was causing the transaction created by the calling session bean to be ignored and the entity bean was creating its own transaction in which to perform its work!! Setting the dedicated.connection to false fixes this.
Just to note, the dedicated.connection setting was there as a result of trying to get Tomcat to connect to OC4J about a year ago!

How can I roll back a java update?

This morning we did our monthly take-down-the-server-run-all-the-software-updates, and it included "Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 16" Now our java software is totally hosed.
How do we roll back to the previous version of java?

We used Pacifist ( http://www.charlessoft.com/ ) to re-install the java Update14
This is shareware and he asks for $20. We are sending him $100!!!!

(We have Update15, but, a) apple has removed it from the support downloads site, and b) 16 came really fast after 15 -- so I suspect that 15 is broken somehow. The guessing game is a little annoying -- an article on the support page that would come up when you search for java for 10.6 update 15 saying that apple has removed the update and don't install it if you downloaded it would be, well, courteous!)
Note -- this seems to have worked just fine to clean up whatever update 16 broke for us, but I suspect that we could have used pacifist to install updates 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and then 14 and been really really likely to undo whatever bad thing update 16 did.
Another note... Got into this mess because I was trying to minimize downtime. I've never had a problem with a java update before so I got greedy/sloppy. Sure plenty of OTHER people have had problems with java updates, but, well, what is that old saying?

Can you roll back the iMovie 9.0.6 update as it has trashed iMovie for me?

Since the auto update of iMovie to 9.0.6 I cannot open iMovie and more - it just crashes every time trying to import the projects. I either need to KILL all old projects or roll back iMovie so that it is usable!!!

There's a workaround .. delete the currently installed iMovie app. Then reinstalling will give you iMove 9.0.6.

Once it's uninstalled, you can re download iMovie for free using the same Apple ID it was originally purchased from.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:

Seems silly to not allow a rollback from a file repository of previous app versions.

I'm not sure I follow, I have not sync'd the ipad with my computer. I just saw an update in the app store and took it.
I tried to del and install the app from the purchased tab in the app store, that reinstalled v2.1 of the app. This also fails to launch.
I have made two service requests to the developer, no response at this time.
Is there somewhere I can download and install Remote Files version 2 file? I can only find the new version 2.1 in the app store.

I've recently had a notification on my Xperia T to say it had a software update available. So I installed it today. It's perhaps a bit more modern but it's terribly annoying. For a start it deleted the android browser with all of my bookmarks, which was pretty annoying, but mostly it's the way the keyboard works. I use the swiping method mainly and it worked everywhere and was very intuitive. The new one is garbage. For a start it doesn't work on Google and YouTube and doesn't offer close matches if you got it slightly wrong. Often it won't get basic words and doesn't offer alternatives. It's horrid.

So as far as I can make out. My first problem is the keyboard. When I used to type it would show alternatives in case a word was misspelled. This new one jumps straight to inaccurate predictions for what you type next, so if you've made an error you have to tap your way back to the misspelling. This is crap.
Also you get the full functionality of the keyboard on Facebook and forums and the url bar of the browser. But you don't get it on Google searches. So you start swiping and nothing happens. This is crap.
Could someone explain why you have different functionality of the keyboard on various sites, whereas it used to be one excellent keyboard for everything and also explain how this constitutes progress?

- OSX: Maverick to Yosemite = not recommended (check it out > http://roaringapps.com/apps)
- iPad: older versions as iPad2 should not upgrade to iOS7/8 (it's not supporting its hardware accordingly, it's designed for the latest hardware)
- iTunes (it's possible to rollback to 10.7 - 11.4, but you need to breech OSX system security framework)
- Pages (was a real alternative for many of us, each update reduced features and created incompatibility to older work files)
