Can Elements Save Directly to LR3?

I'm temporarily using Photoshop Elements 9 to make a few tweaks of images that I process in Lightroom 3.4. However, I've noticed that unlike CS4, the edited file does not automatcially close and return to LR when the file is closed. Instead, I have to save it and re-import it into LR.
Is there a way to change this with Elements or am I stuck with saving and re-importing edited files?
Thanks for any help.
Stephen

What file types are you editing in PSE9?
When you perform a "Edit in Adobe Photoshop Elements" on a Raw image out of LR, you should see this dialog:
After choosing the Copy File Options, a TIFF or PSD file named as configured in your preferences ([filename]-Edit.tiff or .psd by default) will be rendered and added to your catalog, then PSE will open. When finished with editing in PSE9, perform "Save" (not "Save as"), retaining the filename as opened in PSE9. This will return the adjustments made in PSE9 to LR.

  • Can't save directly with word 2007, powerpoint 2007

    hi,
we have a mac mini server with
    - mac os x 10.6.2 server
    - I created 3 workgroups
    - sharepoints, that are directly on the boot disk (User/Shared/folder1...)
for mac-user everything works fine, but windows users (1x win xp with office 2007, 1x win 7 with office 2010) can’t directly save to the server, they always get an error, that the server is not reachable.
but if I save the file to the desktop, I can copy it with the explorer in a folder on the server.
after little investigation I found out, that every microsoft office app creates temporary files while saving and this is the source of all troubles.
I tried all tips I could find:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2249820&tstart=0

    http://lists.apple.com/archives/macos-x-server/2008/Jan/msg00760.html
    like:
    - changes in smb.conf
    - acl-rights changes
    - with/without oplock, strict lockings
    but nothing helped.
    and one strange finding:
if I create a new sharepoint, it uses automatically apples standard „workgroup“ as only group (besides spotlight), now office 2007-user CAN save files directly. if I add one of my groups, the problems reappears.
so I would like to ask, if someone found a solution for this problem - thx!
    regards,
    ferdinand

Partially solved. To get the Mac to map the drive, I had to go to Finder > Go > Connect to Server and connect using the drive's static IP address. It connects and I can save just fine. However... the problem is that if I reboot the mapping is gone and I have to repeat the Finder steps. Is there a way to automatically get the Mac to connect to the drive even if I restart? I do have an admin password on the drive if this is part of the problem.

  • Can I save directly to the airport extreme?

I have a 1tb airport extreme. I want to know if I can save video files directly to it so that it doesn't fill up the hard drive of my mac computer.

It is possible to do this, but you might want to think about it first.
The "original" copies of your files are on your Mac and the Time Capsule (which you call an AirPort Extreme) is for your backups of these files. In other words, you have the "originals" on one hard drive and the "backups" on another hard drive.
When....not if....you have a problem with a hard drive, you at least have a copy on the other hard drive, so your valuable data is safe.
But, if you move the "originals" to the Time Capsule drive......you will have no backups.
A much safer plan for your valuable data would be to add an external drive that is attached directly to your computer. Move your video files to that drive. Then.....Time Machine will backup both your Mac and the external drive to the Time Capsule, so you have "originals" on one drive and backups on another.

  • How can I save an image directly from my pc browser to view later on my Ipad?

    Hey all,
When I attempt to download an image from Firefox on my PC directly into an iCloud Photos shared album, I get the error message: "You can't save here. Please choose another location."  If I navigate to the directory where my iCloud photos are stored within Windows 7, I am able to save the file, but it isn't shared.  What is the proper way to save images from my PC browser to be viewed later on my iPad?  Using Dropbox, this is simple. iCloud, not so much.
    Thanks!

The time should already be shown on the status bar, but you can't add the day and/or date to it - if you would like to have them then you coul leave feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
If you want to copy an attachment from an email then you can't do that directly from the Mail app. If the email is still on your provider's server then you should be able to read the email on your provider's site via a browser on your computer and save it from there directly on your computer. Otherwise you will need to copy the file from the Mail app to another app on your iPad via the 'open in' function. Do you have an app on your iPad that supports the type of file that you want to copy ? How you then copy the file to your computer will depend upon what the app that you copy it to supports - different apps have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network, dropbox etc

sure pretty simple.  make a backup of your current settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US
then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
    then import pics to computer

you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

    Hi,
Have you tried working through this document - it does apply to Elements as well.
Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later
If you still have problems you may need to contact the Adobe activation team - see the "Still need help?" link at the end of the document.
    Good luck

When finished editing click File->Save/Save As and you can either overwrite the original file or rename it and save as new file keeping original intact.

  • How can I save a Photoshop Elements 12 file as HTML?

How can I save a Photoshop Elements 12 file as HTML?

Sorry, not possible in PSE itself. You'd need to put your photo into the web creation software you use. If you are using an older version of PSE some versions created web albums/galleries which included an index.html page, but that's as much as PSE does. There's nothing like that in PSE 12 since Adobe wants you to use Revel for photo sharing now.

  • How can I save photos to a CD?  (Elements 11)

How can I save a group of photos to a CD?  Elements 11

    lolagolucky:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I'm not sure how you burned that CD but one way to get a PC compatible disk of the jpgs is the following:
1 - insert a blank CD in your drive and mount it on the desktop.
2 - select all of the files you want to transfer.
3 - go to the File->Export menu option.
4 - in the Export Photos pane click on File Export
5 - select full sized images and check the Use extension box.
6 - click on the Export button.
7 - in the navigation window that comes up navigate to the CD on the desktop and select it and click the OK button.
8 - when the export is complete check the files on the CD to make sure they are the full sized files (I got aliases one time so check before all burns).
9 - drag the CD to the Trash icon to burn the disk of photo.
This method create a universal format readable by both PCs and Macs. Good luck.

  • How can i save my importing photos in iPhoto but edit in photoshop elements 11?

how can i save my importing photos in iPhoto but edit in photoshop elements 11?

    You have two options:
    1. Set PSE as your external editor for iphoto and send the photos from iphoto. Save (not Save As) without changing the name or format and iPhoto will remember the original + the last edited version. (To get back to the original you will have to lose the edits, though.)
    2. Export the photos from iphoto, work on the copies, make all the changes you want to name and format and then reimport the edited versions to iphoto as new files. This lets you save as many different versions as you like.

  • How can I save a picture in Photoshop Elements that was emailed to me using Photoshop Elements?

How can I save a picture in Photoshop Elements that was emailed to me using Photoshop Elements?

Save the attachment in a folder.
    From the Organizer menu choose:
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
Navigate to your image and click Open.
If the photo is embedded, make a copy or screen grab and then whilst it’s still held in memory open the Elements Editor.
    From the menu click:
File >> New >> Image from clipboard
Then use File >> Save As
    Then choose jpeg.

  • I can´t save images in .jpg with "Camera Raw" software from my Elements 6.0

I have Photoshop Elements 6.0, I bought it last year and untill now, it´s OK. Now I´m beginning working with .RAW files, but I can´t save them as .JPG after I modified them with the "camera Raw" software. I can only save pictures in .DNG. ¿Could someone please tell me how to save it as .JPG?
I consider this is a basical function wich, for example, Photoshop CS3 does.
    Bye.

Thank you very much for your answers.
    Daniel.
    2009/6/3 Barbara Brundage <[email protected]>
The Save button in the raw converter is the DNG converter. To save in any
standard image format, you must open the image in the editor, then save it
    there.

  • Question: How can I save Elements 12 photos edited as other than PSE. I prefer JPEG. Also file forma

I have two problems with my new Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 editing program. I cannot seem to be able to save an edited photo as a JPEG. How can I do that. I only want to save as a PSE file in case I want to return to it later for further modifications.
My other problem is that my program locks up on me. I can only get out of the program by shutting down my computer and restarting.

    Jon,
That was my first thoughts too, but I have just done some tests and I don't think that is now the problem.
    My test was-
    1) Start with a CR2 RAW file and open it with 16 bits/channel
    2) Confirm that it is in 16 bit mode - layers not available etc.
    3) Save As and JPEG, JPG was an option and it converts it to 8 bit in the output file.
It seems that this has been the case since version 11 - perhaps you could try it to check that I'm not doing something wrong.
I think that Sureaddy's problem is that he is saving it first as a PSE file. After doing that, I can only save it as a PDF or a PSE file.
    Sureaddy
When first editing an image, I suggest you save it as a PSD (Photoshop file) not as a PSE (Photo Project File). If you are using layers, then you will be in 8 bit mode. Providing you don't save as a PSE file you should then have the option of saving it in JPEG/JPG format.
If you must use the PSE format, you could try using the Save for Web option - that can produce a JPG file.
As for your lock up problem, is there any pattern to when it locks up?

    Actually they just did:
Dear Customer, Your current Adobe® Photoshop® Elements or Adobe Premiere® Elements storage and sharing membership on Photoshop.com will move to a new service called Adobe Revel™. Your photos mean a lot to you. And making sure they're backed up and easy to access means a lot to us.
That's why starting April 2, 2013, we'll automatically move your photos to their new home – Adobe Revel.
You don't have to do a thing.
By doing nothing, you are saying it's okay for us to move your JPEG photos and your Elements membership/Photoshop.com account to Revel. We'll handle your photos with care and keep you updated along the way.
If your library contains file formats other than JPEG photos, please be sure to download your complete Photoshop.com library before June 18, 2013, as Revel doesn't yet support the following file types – any video, PSD, RAW, ACR, PNG, TIFF. Archive now.
The move will start after April 2, but if you want to start using Revel sooner, you can start your move now.
Rather not have us move your photos? Simply opt out by April 2, 2013 and download your complete library before we close on June 18, 2013. Archive now.
We are committed to supporting you throughout this transition to a new technology – Adobe Revel.
