Can expose be reversed to the old look?

Question

I just installed snow leopard, and I seem to like how the old expose displays all the windows, compared to this new one, I hate the neon glow around the hovered window, and the new grid layout.
I don't really think that there is a way to make it look exactly like the old one, but I'm just hoping someone knows a way.

Agreed. If you don't like the new Exposé, complain about it here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
(As of this post, 10.6 is not a selectable operating system to provide feedback on - I'd expect it'll be listed pretty soon.) In my experience Apple does a good job of listening to and acting on feedback that it receives. The more people that provide feedback on an issue, the faster and better the response. So please, if the new Exposé bugs you, take some time to share your thoughts.
I find the new Exposé to add some nice features ("quicklook" for windows has the potential to be very handy) but it removes a lot of what made it useful. For example, the all-application Exposé (as opposed to application-specific) attempts to make all windows roughly the same size. In doing so it completely removes a frame of reference - window size - and forces you to examine the contents of each window and/or read the labels to find what you're looking for.
What is gained by making all windows the same size? Small windows remain readable and easily visible, perhaps. But when you have dozens of windows open, nearly everything becomes small and unreadable. While window content wasn't largely readable even with the old Exposé, I'll mention again that window content is critical here because now all windows are nearly the same size and thus window size can no longer be used as a quick way to find the window you were looking for.
Of course, it all depends on how you're navigating your system. I keep the dock hidden and utilize hot corners for Exposé (upper right for all applications, lower right for application-specific). I'm very used to simply flicking the mouse to the corner and activating it. I get the feeling that the current Exposé is designed more for people who primarily navigated via the Dock. Those people probably wouldn't rely on the all-application Exposé in the way that I did, because they could simply click the dock icon instead. Apple has now brought application-specific Exposé to the Dock, thereby making that form of navigation improved.
I'd love it if we could have a choice about it. A simple option to turn off window scaling would do the trick...
