Can Extreme link to another Extreme via Wi-Fi like an Express?

Can I either "join" or "extend" an existing network w/ a second Extreme via Wi-Fi like I can w/ an Express ?
Thanks!

Yes, you can set up the "extend" feature if both Extreme devices are the newer "n' versions.
"Join" will work as well, but no additional wireless coverage is provided with this setting.

  • Enquiries on whether fla can be linked to another fla, swf to flv or other video format and buttons to an animation

    I have 3 enquiries.
    1) How do I embed another fla within fla.
    For example, I am working on a fla, is it possible to create
    a link to another fla via a button?
    2) How do i convert a swf file into a flv file or any other
    video format like avi, mp4, etc?
    I am asking this because I realized when I try to import a
    swf into my fla file, I could only bundle it for mobile. Neither
    the progressive nor the streaming nor the embeding options could be
    checked.
    3) After adding tweening motion to an animation, is it
    possible to add buttons to play/pause? Do I have to write a script
    to enable the buttons to work?
    I tried adding buttons (Windows>components>video),
    however, the buttons were not functioning like the case when I
    imported a video. I think it's because adding tweening to an
    animation doesn't really dismiss it as a video file.
    I would greatly appreaciate if anyone could post a solution
    to my problems.
    Thanks.

    I am not so sure that this is a bug, and I have not been able to reproduce this behavior that you are describing.
    But you can lock it from editing by right-clicking on the graph and go to Properties>>Appearance>>Enabled State --> Disabled
    Also, word of advice for the future: You will get more replies from the community with shorter posts and keeping it to one question per post. Summarize what the issue is, and put the detailed documentation and instructions to reproduce in the actual VI.

  • Can I Link To Another File In A PDF Package?

    In an effort to create an inexpensive linked technical manual, I put the manual and related systems manuals and drawings into a PDF Package. But I would like to be able to link between a page of the technical manual, and another manual or drawing within the package. Can I do that, and if so, how?

    I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you other than to say it's a grim future for Spry.   Adobe abandoned the framework late last year with no plans for future development with it.

  • Can you link to another website in iWeb?

    Hi everyone,
    Is there a way in iWeb to use a page to navigate to another website i.e. Blogger?
    Many thanks!

    I'm sure it can be done in iWeb :
    Add a link to the navbar
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    theNavUL = parent.document.getElementById('widget0-navbar-list');
    theLiVar = '<li class="noncurrent-page"><a href="home.html">Home</></li>';
    // At the beginning
    theNavUL.innerHTML = theLiVar + theNavUL.innerHTML;
    // At the end
    theNavUL.innerHTML += theLiVar;
    // -->
    </script>
    Or use the method on this page :
         http://www.wyodor.net/mfi/global/
    Or use this code :
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    theNavUL = parent.document.getElementById("widget0-navbar-list");
    TheLi = parent.document.createElement("li")
    TheLi.innerHTML = "<a href='Tuinproject.html'>More</a>";
    TheLi.className = "noncurrent-page";
    theNavUL.appendChild(TheLi);
    // -->
    </script>

  • Extending Range of Airport Extreme via LAN connection to Airport Express

    I am an expat living overseas. I live in a 100 concrete walled house and thus when trying to set up a wireless network I have very limited range. Using Airport Extreme is not a problem downstairs...but to extend the wireless connection upstairs had been a challenge. What I've attempted to do is use the LAN connection on the back of the Airport Express Base Station and run the line upstairs along the side of the house into a room upstairs. I then have connected the ethernet line to an airport express in this room. My computers upstairs recognize the Airport Express and are connected to it...but I can't get an internet connection to those computers. Additionally, the Airport Extreme Base Station does not recognize the Airport Express as part of the network (wireless or LAN). Any suggestions?

    I would bring the Expresses to the room where you have your Extreme and factory reset the Expresses so that they are in the original condition when they came out of the box - they will reflect their Apple IDs.
    I would then open the Airport Utility (I am assuming you have the new Extreme, not the old one). Scan for the Expresses and then join them to the network.
    If they work in the room where your Extreme is located then they are configured appropriately. They I would try moving them back to the room where you want to extend your network. If they then do not work you will know it is not the Express but the amount of concrete and metal in your building.

  • Forcing link in one web based PDF to open link to another PDF in new browser window

    We have created a form using LiveCycle Designer ES2.  The form is found on our website and is used by faculty to submit proposal information to our office.  Depending upon the answers to questions in the form if they say yes we had a link to another form that we would like them to complete and submit with the original PDF that they are working on.  The problem that we are having is that when they click on the form it opens the new PDF and all the data that they had entered in the original PDF is gone once the new form opens up.  Is there a way to force the new PDF via the use of some scripting that can go along with the link, or via the use of a button that can force the new form to open in a new browser window?  It is impractical for us to expect 1500 faculty members to change their browser settings to open new PDF's in a new window.  We have removed the links for now and have just put in text that says if they select yes they need to go out and complete the additional form.
    The form we are using can be found here: http://spo.usu.edu/files/uploads/SP-01.pdf
    The first three questions on page two where we reference the other forms is where we would like to be able to add the links to the new forms and have them open in a new browser window.  When the form is downloaded and opened in Adobe Acrobat/Reader the links functioned correctly, it just did not function properly when it opens in a browser.
    Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer in regards to this issue.

    I used a button, removed the border/fill properties and underlined the caption to look like a URL.
    The click event is...
    // form1.page1.subform1.urlBtn::click - (JavaScript, client)
    app.launchURL("http://spo.usu.edu/files/uploads/SP-01.pdf",true);
    The PDF will open in a new window or tab, depending upon the browser configuration.

  • Linking to another PDF file

    Obviously in Acrobat you can setup links to another PDF file. And I understand you can do that in Designer but as I can see, the only way is to do it via a URL/browser. Importing a PDF into Designer doesn't preserve the link. Looked in the documentation but I didn't find anything so far. Is this where one would use subforms? I just want a button to open another PDF file in Reader basically.
    Thanks
    Jzach

    The "Open File" action is limited in its ability to actually
    kick off external applications. As a rule of thumb it is best used
    to redirect the user to HTML documents - and of course, opening any
    file can be problematic if the end-user's computer has no valid
    "association" to the linked file-type in his/her machine's system
    registry.
    For instance, if an AVI file is targeted, it will be a
    crap-shoot what application will be used to display it (if any). On
    one machine, Windows Media Player might be opened to play the AVI,
    and on another, perhaps a DiVX player or maybe even Flash (though
    not likely).

  • ITunes said my library was linked to another playlist...HELP!

    iTunes said my library was linked to another playlist and would I like to replace it with this playlist. I didn't understand, and said yes and now I can't find my library!!! Can I get my original library back??!!! HELP!

    Pressing "Yes" when iTunes brings up the dialogue window asking whether you want to replace the songs on your iPod with the songs in iTunes unfortunately does exactly what it says. If you linked to an iTunes with only a few or completely different songs it will have erased your original iPod song list. There are some data recovery programs on the market, here's an example. None of these programs are particularly cheap I'm afraid so you have to decide if it's worth the money in your case: iPod Data Recovery

    Hello guys,
    I was wondering today, "Can you link a app to a command?" like if i do Command+B i open my twitter app, is this possible and if so how??

    Apple has yet to announce the licensing requirements for backing up for Lion.  We'll know by the end of July if that's advisable or possible.

  • Can I extend my network by connecting one of my airport express devices to my airport extreme via an ethernet cable? I have CAT5 cable throughout my house but have a wireless network w/ 3 airport expresses

    Can I extend my wireless network by connecting one of my airport express devices to my airport extreme via an ethernet cable?  I have a wireless network with 3 airport expresses and 1 airport extreme functioning as the base station. I have CAT5 throughout my house.

    Welcome to the discussions, mib88!
    Can I extend the network a second time with another Airport Express...
    The short answer would be no. If you want more details, please continue to the next paragraph.
    Apple's "extend a wireless network" works just like the hub and spokes of a wheel. Your main hub is either the Time Capsule or the AirPort Extreme and the AirPort Express is at the end of a spoke. You can add more devices at the ends of other spokes, but these devices will communicate directly to the hub, not to another device at the end of a spoke.
    Apple does offer an option which is is known as a "static WDS", which can consist of a "main", "relay" and "remote" device. The problem here is that this type of setup has two huge drawbacks:
    1) All of your faster "n" devices will drop down to much slower "g" speeds
    2) The bandwidth or speed capability on the network will drop down to only 25% of the original bandwidth with a "main", "relay" and "remote" on the network.
    Don't think you want this on your network. Your best option is to connect the new AirPort Express to the "hub" using an ethernet connection. If you can't run the ethernet cable, take a look at a pair of ethernet powerline adapters to accomplish the same task by sending the ethernet signal over the AC powerline in your home.

  • How many devices can I link to AirPort Extreme?

    How many devices can I linked to an AirPort Extreme.  It seems that whenever I have more than 3 devices (all iPhone and iPad), I can't link the fourth one.

    The answer will depend on the type of modem that you have connected to the AirPort Extreme.
    If the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem, then it will act as the main router for your network. In that case, the AirPort Extreme will support up to 50 wireless devices and 150 wired Ethernet devices.
    If the AirPort Extreme is connected to a modem/router combination device....also known as a gateway.....then it is your modem/router that determines the number of devices that can connect to the network.
    If you are unsure of what type of product you might have, post back with the make and model number of the device that you call your "modem".  (We do not need a serial number for the device).

    Yes. Please see the following AirPort User Tip for details on several methods to do so.

  • I am linking 7 express's to an extreme via ethernet cables in very large estate. Is there a specific "backbone" you recommend for use in such an application? Thank you

    I am linking 7 airport expresses to an airport extreme via ethernet cables in a large estate I maintain. Is there a specific product apple recommends to act as the "backbone" in such an application? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

    Is there a specific product apple recommends to act as the "backbone" in such an application
    Apple does not recommend a specific product in this regard.
    In general, you would connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Exteme to a Gigabit Ethernet switch, then connect as many Ethernet cable runs as you want to use to remote locations around the house.
    Ethernet switches come in 5-port, 8-port, 16-port etc versions, so choose according to your needs.
    I recommend Netgear and Cisco switches, but I am sure that there are other good products from which to choose.
    Be sure to run CAT6 Ethernet cable to allow for the faster speeds coming in the next decade or so.

  • Can I link 2 airport extremes together by using ethernet, through an ethernet switch?

    can I link 2 airport extremes together by using ethernet, through an ethernet switch?

    This will depend on the type of switch that you are asking about.
    An "unmanaged" Gigabit Ethernet switch will pass through everything with no configuration needed.
    A "managed" switch will require programming that defines the performance of each port on the switch.

  • HT4262 Is there any way to extend my Apple Extreme Base Station using an Apple Express by via ethernet or does it only work via wifi and being in range?

    From what I read, the only way to extend my Apple Wifi Network is via another Apple Airport Extreme or Express using overlapping wifi zones. If I try to connect my Apple Express to my Apple Extreme via Ethernet, then this is guaranteed to fail regardless of how I configure the Express. Is that correct?

    It is certainly possible and better....in terms of performance.....to connect the AiPort Express to your AirPort Extreme using Ethernet to extend the network that way.
    If you are having problems with this, then your setup is not correct....or....if your setup is correct, you may have a defective AirPort.
    We can walk you through the steps to get things set up correctly if we can get some basic information to provide the correct settings.
    What is the model number of the AirPort Extreme?
    What is the model number of the AirPort Express?
    if you are not sure, look on the bottom of the Extreme and side or bottom of the Expess. The model number starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.
    We also need to know what operating system you are using on your computer. If you have a Mac, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac and post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.
    We will likely have more questions about your current setup to understand things a bit better, so please be patient.
