Can FCP 10.0.3 open 10.0.4 files? How?

Got 10.0.4 on private Mac and 10.0.3 at uni. Need to work in both versions. Is that possible?

The update to 10.0.4 asks if you want to update the projects.... no idea what it does, but it probably means an older version of FCPX can't open updated projects. If they weren't updated, there shouldn't be an issue.
Why don't they just update the uni version? It's free.

Special > Hypertext > Command "open document" will do its best to open the target document inside FrameMaker, which may not be much help; Special > Hypertext > Command "message …" will use the application you specify. The user guide for 7.0 says this about absolute links, and I don't think anything has changed since:
For example, to start PaintBrush and open the Ship.pcx file on drive C you would use the command message system pbrush.exe C:/Ship.pcx
I've not often used a relative link, and not recently: the same source says
folder levels are separated by a slash / even in Windows and Mac
[relative links] FrameMaker searches for a relative pathname beginning in the folder that contains the current document
[absolute links] FrameMaker searches for an absolute pathname beginning at the top of the file system. In Windows, the absolute pathname begins with the drive specifier, a colon and a slash.

Do a backup.
Take notes of all account information or take screen shots. You may need to set the accounts up again. Quit Mail.
Copy the line below.
~/Library/Mail/V2
Select Go/Go To Folder from the Finder menu bar. Paste the line into the window. You won't see it.
That should show you the accounts. Select the appropriate inbox and dig around in the folders until you find the e-mail matching the number. Try to delete/move to the trash. If successful, launch Mail and test.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

I can't seem to properly open saved Flash (.swf) files with Shockwave in Firefox.

I have saved .swf flash files on my computer. I can view flash files when part of an internet page, but when I try to open the saved ones on Firefox, it asks me if I want to download them. I have tried to change the settings in the 'options' and 'applications' thing in the 'Tools' part of the menu bar, but while the SWF file(application/x-shockwave-flash) content type is automatically set to use Shockwave in Firefox, I can't find a way to do the same with the SWF file (application/download) content type, which seems to include saved swf files.

Just out of curiosity, try playing the song in a different program . . . maybe Windows Media Player to see if it works. I wonder if it's corrupted....

Ultiboard file takes up to 5 minutes to open or save a file. how can I solve that?

Hi, recently I modified a previous design created using ultiboard 10.0. Since that day, every time I save or load the file it takes 5 minutes or more to finish the required action. It's really annoying to wait that long in the middle of work for the user interface to become usable again. It didnt happen before. I tried to select all and copy in a new file as Nestor suggested in a previous post, but after I selected all and pressed the copy button, the application hangs.. how can I restore the file? or al least reduce the time needed to save or load. Thanks.

I had recorded some interesting fragments with my Canon EOS 550D and wanted to edit the vides before share with my friends. After downloaded the H.264 mov videos from Canon 550D to Mac hard disk, and imported them to FCP for editing, But the FCP can not recognize the files.I need some advices,Thanks.

Can't see pictures when opening other mans Illustrator files

I'm pretty new at working with Illustrator. And I already stumbled upon some problems. Normally I use google to find the answer, but this time I have no idea how to google for it. So what ist the problem?
For my work I needed to design an illustration where I also used pictures from my computer. We have a server on which all the computers are connected, however I first saved my Illustrator file on my computer and later exported it to the server. When some else tries to open the file they can't see the pictures I used. So what do I need to do? I the only solution to save the pictures on the servers as well and replace them on the file? Or is there an option to save the pictures within the files.

If people are saving files to a common server it is a good idea to keep images in the same folder as the Illustrator files.
Also don’t mix Mac and Windows. If you are using Macs for working on, use a Mac server. If Windows, use a Windows server.
Illustrator doesn’t like saving to remote servers much, but if you follow the above you should avoid problems for the most part.

Can FCP natively do RT monitoring on MJPEG-A files?

Hello, i may once again have my terminology incorrect .
We have a show, shooting on XDCAM SD. The proxies aren't of a high enough quality for our editors. so we're using the XDCAM Transfer program to put the video files onto an external hard drive. Then Compressor is used to create Motion JPEG A files from these source clips.
Our editor is viewing some of these files on his system. He's tried lots of various troubleshooting things but can't resolve two issues:
1) If he puts the clips into his timeline, it needs rendering, thus can't play out on his external monitor (he's using Digital Cinema Desktop)
2) If he opens the clips in his Viewer window, on the Digital Cinema Desktop window they play back, BUT they play back extremely squeezed. Squeezed in height, similar to anamorphic, but it's like ~20 percent of the original height. In the Viewer itself, the sizing is proper.
We're in the process of acquiring a Decklink card to properly output/view/monitor clips. But until we get that, is there any way to 'setup' Final Cut to view clips in the meantime?

I've been using Firefox for about a year, and I use multiple tabs all the time. This evening, when I clicked to open a new tab, nothing happened. Firefox starts up and displays the first tab with the website I've specified, but when I try to open new tabs, nothing happens.

Probably caused by the Ask Toolbar extension in Firefox 3.6.13+ versions, disable that extension or un-install it.

Can not get Elements to open Nikon D3s nef files.

I have Elements 8 running on a Imac and a MacBook Pro. All updates have been installed. Neither will open D3s 'nef' files. What am I doing wrong? These files will open on a Mac Pro using CS4.

You need to make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw as the D3s is a recent model supported by ACR 5.6.
To check for the plug-in open Full Edit and go to Help > About Plug-in > Camera Raw and you should see the version installed.
If you don’t see it, or you have an earlier version than 5.6.0.148 use one of the following links to download the update.

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

Not entirely sure what you want to do.
If you wabt to sign out of account in the Mail app, then it doesn't have the concept of signing out, if the account is enabled on the iPad then it is effectively always 'open'. If you want to view a different account that you've set up on the iPad then you can do so via the button at the top left of the Inbox to go up levels to a folder selection and then to account selection.

If you want to sign out of your iTunes account then you can tap on it in Settings > Store

Drag the music from the iTunes media Folder into iTunes.
Use iTunes to Add Folder to Library. Use the ALT key, followwd by the F key and then the D key (that's File/Add Folder to Library) and navigate to the folder and select.
