Can Firefox be fixed to block tracking cookies even it the web site refuses to cooperate?

Too many web sites (e.g., New York Times, New Yorker, Google) do not honor the request to block tracking cookies. They add them back in within seconds after I delete them. Most of the added cookies are not, repeat not, from the owner of the website but are added via some agreement with the site owner. Most of these cookies are from sites having no connection with me or the site provider. Can or will Firefox provide an option to block all cookies inserted from the web site?

Firefox only sends a DNT=1 response header to the server. 
It is up to the server to decide what to do with that request.

Whether it is gmail, Facebook, or more specifically this site (http://www.carnivalentertainment.com/index.htm), Firefox won't let me upload any type of file. Of course, if the Web site offers a standard uploader then I have a better chance of having a successful upload, but if it is not offered, then I am basically out of luck.

Check on the setting, as far s i know it was there by going on tools>options> privacy then check it out. If there was no changes, what i can suggest is try to update your firefox.

I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. I use Thunderbird's Archive folders so that accumulated mails over several years can happily coexist because they are effectively stored in many small folders. No single mail store folder then exceeds the 2GB or 4GB sizes that have been known to stress the OS. Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

Facebook has not been loading properly for me since Feb. 22/14. Can you please check what is wrong with Firefox. The web-site Facebook works fine on Safari.

I've had issues with Facebook not loading certain areas of the web-site correctly or fully since Feb. 22. When I first go onto Facebook I am on the home page "news feed". Thing is when I click on the tab at the bottom of the news feed that says "see more", nothing is happening. It refuses to open the feed up to older posts which friends or myself have posted. Only about 6 - 8 posts at the max show on that home feed. That's it.
My other issue, also in Facebook is when I go to access my "messages". First click on the tab "messages" brings up a white page. Then if I refresh the page to see if it will load, the messages page loads very weird. It shows the last message I may have replied to at the bottom of the screen, but over lapping on top of the list of previous messages to the left of the page. Plus the page appears extremely different than it should. Just like it's been re-formatted or whatever.
Since these 2 issues started on Saturday afternoon I've switched over to the Safari browser on my iMac. On that browser Facebook is performing properly, as it should be. It's not overlapping messages. Plus the home feed isn't refusing to extend for me so that I may view older stories or posts by friends. All appears fine while accessing Facebook on the Safari browser. Not so while on Firefox. I am running the most up to date version of Firefox. "27.0.1" Plus I have a habit to clear the browser's history daily & restarting the browser as well as my iMac. So I do not believe those are my problems. I feel there may be something you guys there at Firefox should look into on this.

Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen items. A carrier may offer IMEI blocking (non in the USA currently do, but elsewhere some do). Your carrier would already know your IMEI number anyway, so just contact them and ask them about it.
It is VERY good that you had a passcode lock on the device. That means your personal information will be safe. And yes, after 10 failed attempts (each with increasing time out between allowing another attempt) the device will permanently lock them out until they restore the device in iTunes. Anyone can go ahead and restore your iPhone as new in iTunes, but that also wipes everything off it and restores it to new condition - which does mean they can go off and use it as theirs, but at least all your data is gone.
Did you file a police report it was stolen? Also your carrier should be told (and ask them about IMEI blocking). Sorry it is gone, but you did the best thing possible to protect yourself and your information when you set up that passcode lock.

Firefox icon disappeared, have to use Internet Explorer to access web sites. Although I can get into Yahoo home page, am unable to open e-mail account.

Turned on computer this am and firefox icon not there. Used Internet Explorer to access web sites. Was able to access my Yahoo home page but not able to open my e-mail account. I am not savvy enough to change settings by myself, so I really need help.

Hi--I tried your suggestion and no dice. A window came up with the following:The item 'Firefox.exe' that has this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete?
Another window said 'C:Program files (x86) Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe' specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct.
I have no clue as to what that means. I did delete the shortcut.
Finally went into our Kaspersky virus protection and found Firefox is in quarantine and that is probably why I am unable to uninstall and reinstall.
Any ideas????

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I have a big application written in ASP/CF. In this
application, I added a link to my small application in CF. Both
apps are on the same server but separate websites. I liked to use
the user admin functionality that is available in the big
application into my small apps. What I need is the cookie userid
from the big application so that I can use it. How do I go about
that? Can you please provide a sample code?

Cookies, by definition, are web site specific. You can set
them to be
shared across sub-domains, but you can not have one domain
read another
domains cookies. To do what you want one of the applications
will have
to pass the desired value to the other in some manner of your
choosing.

Can't start the web site of Reports Services

After installation of the 9iAS, can't start the web site of
Reports Services
and Form Services from the URL listed in the postinstallation
guide using
default port no 1950. The dev60html and devdem60/demo
directories are not
existing, the runrep.htm and runform.htm files are in the
directory
tools/web60/html. I also tried to replace the dev60html with
tools/web60/html
in the URL but it won't work.
During the installation the discoverer and portal tools failed,
the portal
hanged at 100%, and the discoverer didn't install the util
directory. But we
can login to the portal from the URL.

not sure if it is
working.

What is the expected behavior ? A managed trying to connect to the admin server ?
Check the value for ADMIN_URL value, set in the startManagedServer.sh or cmd.

The normal behavior is to open a blank tab, an add-on will be causing it to display Yahoo. One add-on that does this is the freeze net assistant, if you have that one you can uninstall it and it should revert to opening a blank tab.
There are add-ons that let you specify what should open in a new tab, such as:
* NewTabURL - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/newtaburl
* New Tab Homepage - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage
Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.
