Can Firefox resize large images in a webpage to stop horizontal scroll/sidescrolling?

Can Firefox force images in a website to resize to fit the page? Or if someone knows of an addon, that would be fine, too.

    How can I resize an image without losing resolution or using the crop tool? I am using Photoshop Elements 13 on a PC.

    Hi Peru Bob,
    I've tried two images, the results were:
    Image 1
    Jpg, original file size 923KB, dimensions 848px x 279px.
    After resizing to 848px x 180px with 72dpi, the file size decreased to 164KB.
    Image 2
    Jpg, original file size 809KB, dimensions 1200px x 1800px.
    After resizing to 668px x 722px with 72dpi, the file size decreased to 307KB.
    So, there seems to be a fair file size loss - is this to be expected?

  • I updated to Photoshop cc 2014 and now can't resize the images like I used to.

    I updated to Photoshop cc 2014 and now can't resize the images like I used to.
    I used to click on the image and then go to the corner hold down shift and resize it.  Now it won't do it.
    How do I do it now?
    I have a project deadline and need to do this asap.  Panicking that I won't meet my deadline.

    Did you turn off the "show transform controls" option in the move tool?
    It sounds like you were using that previously.
    And you can always transform by using the Free Transform command (command/control T).

  • Photoshop CS5 crashing my Mac when resizing large images

    I don't have much to explain this further but Photoshop CS5 is crashing my Mac when I resize large images.  Small images are fine but large 300dpi images crashes it without warning.  Don't know what to do.  The only other similar thing is After Effects CS5 is crashing my Mac when I trim a clip.  It completely turns off my Mac when I trim a clip.
    I have 8gigs of Ram and am running 27" iMac Core i5
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,

    Hi Wendy
    Thank you for your insights. We are having the same problems here.
    It's been a headache as we bought two 27" iMacs in March 2011; and we've had even BOTH iMacs exchanged.
    After exchanging, same thing happened. We then got all 16GB of RAM on each iMac replaced.
    But we noticed that the auto-shutdown problem happens with files on 300dpi. We are contemplating on changing them to 299dpi though haha!
    Unfortunately, here in Singapore, we don't have a physical Apple store. We only have Premium Resellers.
    And the other unfortunate thing is, when RAMs are upgraded these Premium Resellers sell 3rd party RAMs.
    I supposed we'll have to deal with this for now until we have enough funds to replace ALL 32 RAMs to original Apple RAMs (which will cost abt another USD1600!!) ..
    Hope this forum helps others as much as it finally helped me understand the issue we're having.

  • Can't load large image (png)

    I have a sandbox web page with large image (png file 26000x13000, 14MB packed/330MB unpacked). I can open it in IE but firefox display page without image. I have 1,2GB of free RAM, how can I adjust settings to make allow firefox display the image? Currently there is no difference if I use unpacked BMP, it doesn't work as well. I would prefer to stay with PNG since it's only 14MB on disk.

    Is there an error message?
    We've been able to load more than 100MB files.
    Try setting SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIMEOUT=0 in the sqlnet.ora file

  • Resizing large images

    This is probably a basic one for most people, but I'm pretty clueless... I've got a fairly large image (3000px) that I need to scale down to 500-ish px. How do I best go about doing this without getting that awful 'halo' effect? I've tried gradually scaling down without much success.

    there are several options. if you want to save the image to be put on the web, you can go to File>save for web> and in the bottom corner manually enter the size. and it will keep the proportions that you want.
    see below:
    another way is to go to image>image size
    try these as well:

  • How can I resize an image in Preview?

    There has been lots of discussion about Preview but non really answers my question. If I resize an image and duplicate it the duplicate over rides the settings of the original - so now I have 2 images the same size which is not what I want. I want the new image smaller but to keep the original the same size as before resizing. Versions seem to do the same thing, and as far as I can make out so does export. I know you can revert one of the duplicate images to get it back to the original size but it is a rather convoluted process.
    I know there are very clever people here so perhaps one of you can give me a work flow to do what I require. Thanks in advance.

    Of course, you can save some steps by duplicating the original file first, and then resize the copy.

  • Can't print large images

    Hello,
    I'm printing a set of large, stiched images. There are thirty-eight images in the set and the first eight went fine. Suddenly I can't print from CS3.
    I choose print and the print dialog comes up. It is up for a minute or two (normal with the first eight) but then it just disappears. No job spools to the print monitor program. No error messages. Nothing.
    The images are very large. Looking in the finder I see file sizes of 730 mb and so forth. The ones that printed earlier without problem look to be about half that size. However, when I shrunk the larger print down by flattening layers and converting to 8-bit from 16-bit (making it only 185 mb) it still would not print. A second image of about the same initial size would also not print. However, I test printed an image from the first eight and it printed fine.
    So, I'm puzzled. I thought the problem was a too large file size but then why won't the "shrunken" version print? Why is there no error message? How the heck can I print these images?
    I'm running a Mac 24" 2.4 GHz with 4 GB RAM. My Photoshop is 10.0.1 CS3. No other programs are running, I've restarted with no change.
    Ideas?
    Thanks,
    --Darin

    Hey there,
    Outstanding--I printed an 8x10 of the image and now a 16x20. I spent all day trying to get this to work...
    Thank you very much!
    Now, I'm curious. I understand, in a general way, about the preferences. File is corrupted, ditch the file. But why would I *lower* the RAM allocation to 30%? In my trouble-shooting I actually had raised it (but it made no difference).
    Finally, when I went to print after following your instructions I saw the warning box about the postscript--which reminded me that I *hadn't* seen that box when it was malfunctioning. I mention this just for teh sake of completeness and for those who are searching for a fix later on.
    Thanks again,
    --Darin

  • Resize large images for web?

    Man I feel so dumb having to post questions here, i really look to solve these myself and usually can in just about any software program i've used for 20 years, thats my only frustration with LR. The help system just hasn't been developed fully. Oh and thanks to all of you that help here and especially Ian Lyons for the Shortcuts pdf...what a life saver that is!
    OKAY SO ON TO MY POST THIS WEEK> i was getting nice large size Web gallery images and now all of a sudden they are way too large for the client...where the heck do you adjust the size? "Image pages size" doesn't do it, seems like there should be something with "Large Images," but its only got quality, metadata and copyright.
    Thanks in advance for whom ever lends a hand!

    I'm pretty sure you had it right with the "Image pages" and the size slider. I am currently cranking out hundreds of images from a wedding shoot this weekend, and my "large" images are being produced at the 900 pixel max size I have in this dialog.
    Set it to whatever you need, then click an image in your preview to see the size applied.
    If all else fails - restart the app (but I'm sure you already tried that.)
    peace,
    Tormod

  • How to resize large images without losing quality

    Hello I have an image that I am trying to use as an email. Right now it is 2108 pixels. And for an email it should be 600 px. I created this image in illustrator as vectors and type.
    Whenever I go into image size and i change it to be 600 pixels it gets extremely blurry. I have also tried converting this to a smart object... doesnt work. How do I resize my large image to be smaller without losing quality???

    here is an example sceenshot of the opening dialog (.ai opened directly in Photoshop)
    your illustrator vector should be rastered sharp at 100% actual Pixels in Photoshop
    that is where you want to evaluate sharpness in Photoshop...
    then File> Save for Web & Devices (and drag that saved file icon into an open web browser)
    still no joy, embed your saved image here using the forum's camera icon...

  • How can to resize an image uploaded in to the smart image

    Hi
        I have an image uploaded into the smartimage from the local file system. How can i resize this file or create a rendition for this image?
    Thanks
    Veena

    Hi
       I got a reference for the same question from Stack Overflow http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14726485/resize-an-image-resource-in-cq5/16728970#16728 970
    I tried the same method
    Resource resourceNew = resource.getResourceResolver().getResource(img.getFileReference());
        Asset asset = resourceNew.adaptTo(Asset.class);
        log.error("asset ****" + asset);
        Layer layer = new Layer(asset.getOriginal().getStream());
        layer.resize(200, 200);
        log.error("layer ****" + layer);
                            Image image = new Image(resource);
        String mimeType = image.getMimeType();
        ByteArrayOutputStream bout = null;
        ByteArrayInputStream bin = null;
        try {
            bout = new ByteArrayOutputStream(2048);
            layer.write(mimeType, 1, bout);
            bin = new ByteArrayInputStream(bout.toByteArray());
            asset.addRendition("resizedImage", bin, mimeType);
    log.error("asset Bin" + asset);
        } finally {
            // close streams ...
    Where img is my Image object and I was able to create a rendition in the dam.
    But the rendition I am getting is in File format. Is there a way by which i can change it to png format??? any Help will be appreciable..
    Thanks

  • How can i resize my image after image trace?

    Hello all!
    I'm just now getting into using illustrator (currently on trial for illustrator cc) and I've taken a couple of my illustrations and attempted to use the image trace. The only way I can seem to get the image trace to actually produce an accurate trace is if I use a very large file size. So I take my scanned image (600 dpi 2000x 1891) and load it into illustrator, and here's where the problem comes in. Illustrator will not show my entire image on the screen. I zoom out as far as I can go and it's still cutting off the bottom and top of the image. When I try to scale the image it won't let me scale it down to even 90%.
    So my question, is there anyway I can load my full size image into illustrator, image trace it, and then scale it down so I can see the whole image on my screen? It's very hard to paint and work around the image when it's getting cut off.
    The first picture is what the whole picture looks like, but it's such a small file size it's blurry and won't image trace correctly.
    The 2nd image is what happens when I load my full image size in, I'm scrolled as high as the page will go and the top is still cut off.

    Hope this helps Trevor.
    There are other ways of doing this, but try this one.
    Menu - ‘Select all’
    Object - ‘transform’ - ‘scale’
    Dialogue box - click ‘uniform’ add number 1% to 100%, your choice
    Options - tick ‘scale stroke & effects’
    tick ‘preview’ to see results
