Can Flash export VECTOR or outlined text in PDF,Ai or EPS?

We have a web based flash interface that allows customer to
design a custom product online. The problem is that the flash then
creates a PDF and that PDF never ACCURATELY matches what the
customer designed in the flash application. The line and letter
spacing is always off. I think the problem would be fixed IF we
could create or export a PDF or a Ai file or a EPS file from FLASH
that did NOT have the editable text. At the moment of EXPORT it
needs to convert all text to vector or outlined text. That would
alleviate the FONT problems. Does anyone know of a plug-in or some
method for doing this?

Why do you want to change it to a png for placement? Just place it as the original .ai eps file you got. You never want to use a jpg, png or gif in a document that's going to be printed. The minute you change it to a png or jpg you're going to lose resolution. That's why it's pixelated

  • I can't export vector elements with pdf

    Good morning,
    I have a problem.
When I import a vector element from illustrator to photoshop with drag, from an application to other, my
results is a vector element in photoshop (vector smart object).
If I export in PDF (save as photoshop PDF) my results isn't a vector elements, the text and shape wrote in psd
yes but the smart object no.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    thank you very much.
    Nayaril

There are a lot of features I would like to request, how about being able to rename a duplicate project.  Anyway, thanks for the answer.  I still can't send even a full project into compressor using the send to compressor button.  I did find I can use the export using compressor settings, then using the advanced menu I get a send to compressor button that does actually send my project to compressor.  I can then select an in and out point and render a small sellection from my timeline.

  • Can we stop Illustrator from outlining text in a PDF?

I've opened a pdf and get the following message, "To preserve appearance, some text has been outlined", that's it. There's no other errors. I have all the correct fonts and most of the pdf displays correctly. But every few lines or so there's a line or even just a couple of words that have been outlined by illy. This results in the text looking slightly bolder than the surronding text. I could just delete the outlined text and rewrite it, but since i'm updating just the address on about 20 product brochures I find it a massive inconvenience and a huge waste of time.
    Any ideas?

The OP assked a reasonable question and the internet often hides intent.
So they did not realize it is hard for those on this side does not know the circumstance on their end withou them defining such condition.
But I will make a suggestion. It might be worth a try. Tell your superiors there is no way to opeen the file without the text being outline. Don't tell them you can replace the text' just that the only way to open the file without the text being outline is to buy the original app.
The worse they can tell you is to replace the text
and best is they might break down and not be so cheap.
And please don't get angry those people here on the forum who are taking their own time to help you.

  • Can't export comments of comparison between two PDFs, receiving error about "Tagging"/Tagged PDF

    Hello,
I am attempting to export comments from a PDF comparison with Adobe Acrobat Pro, and am reciving the following error:
When the PDF was created, the content in it was not Tagged.  Exporting comments into a Word document will onloy work if the PDF is a tagged PDF.
To create a tagged PDF, you must select "Change Conversion Settings" from the "Adobe PDF" menu, and check the box labeled "Enable accessibility and reflow with Tagged PDF."
This option was selected on both Word documents, and the error still occurs.  I was able to reproduce this error on multiple computers.
A PDF with screenshots of the work flow of the process that causes the error can be found at https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5zF1j5HnYvFRENhVWo5XzZLZnc/edit?pli=1
This is critical to my work at this point, and any assistance is sincerely appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

*1- VNC – Has anyone used the version from NateTrue over EDGE? Is that usable? I basically want to use it to access a remote library reference app running on a PC*
I doubt that it will work very well.
*2 - PDF viewing – Can you view PDFs that are stored on websites or just attached to emails? Also, if the PDF has only the image of scanned text, can you still pan/zoom in?*
    I don't see why not
*3 - PDF #2 – Can you search within the PDF doc you’re viewing?*
No. The iPhone does not offer search
*- MP3s - If you tap on a link to an mp3 file in the browser, will it play?*
    No
*6- Podcasts – Does Safari play podcasts using any of those web-based players you see in site wuch as twit, applephoneshow, etc?*
No, all of these would rely on quicktime, which doesn't really work. The iPhone doesn't support streaming audio very well.
*7 - Contacts – I use the Palm Desktop + Treo and have my contacts in there. I don’t use outlook or other apps. Can I just export my contacts in .csv format and get them into the iPhone? Any suggestions? How about exporting/importing calendar events?*
    No you cannot
*8 - Bonus question 3rd party apps – long shot, since the SDK is not out yet – Does anyone know about 3rd party apps DATA? I am really hoping that iSilo will release an iPhone version of its reader since I am a heavy user of a research library I use for my congregation activities (a modern translation of the Bible + lots of other publications) and I wonder how/if that’s going to work.*
Sorry, we cannot answer any questions about the SDK because no details have been made public as of yet.

  • InDesign CS5.5 Can't export to anything but smallest size PDF

    Hi everyone,
starting this morning i am unable to export a document as a PDF to anything but the smallest possible size setting. All the other options (high quality print, x1a, etc) are gone. I installed an update yesterday but can't recall what the update was for so i'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue? I have some ads due and need to export to a higher res PDF.
I've tried doin't Print as Adobe PDF but the option doesn't reside there either.
    Comments/suggestions definitely welcome.
    Thanks!

You can start with wahtever preset is avialable. From the dropdown for standards, pick PDF/X-1a and most of the seetings will chang automatically for you, but you still need to go to the Compression screen and make sure the color and grayscale sownsample values are set to 300 and the the image quailty is set to Maximum, and set lineart compression to 1200, then go to the Advanced screen and set the transparency flattener resolution to [High Resolution].
Do you make backups of your computer on a regular basis? On mac that would probably be Time Machine, on windows either Windows backup or a third-party program. If you do, you ought to be able to find your old presets on the backup file and restore them.

  • Can I export the data collected in a PDF Form to a Word Template?

I work in the legal field and constantly have to draft the same legal documents over and over. I would like to creat a form that allows me to collect the data I fill in as well as export that data into the word templates for legal document drafts. Is this possible?

    Hi,
The Acrobat Forms forum would be a better target for your question:

  • Can I export an InDesign document to multiple PDFs?

CS3 here. Soon to be CS 5.5.... but I have a 13 page document. Our print provider needs me to upload each page separately on their website. Ugh. Is there a way to export to PDF from ID CS3 and have each page be it's own separate PDF file? Or do I have to do it manually?

There’s a script floating around but it’s easier to export one PDF and then use the extract pages command in Acrobat to make single pages.

  • Why can't I replace an image in a PDF with an EPS file?

I've never seen this behavior before. When I browse out to get some EPS files, they're all greyed out!!! The only files I can import in place of an exsiting image are TIFFs and PNGs, bitmap image formats. This is ridiculous.
    Thanks,
    Peter

It would be part of a different scenario that goes something like this:
    1. Delete the original image in Acrobat (e.g., with the TouchUp Object tool, or whatever your version of Acrobat calls it).
    2. Add a button in Acrobat and set up the properties as you want.
       a. Layout: Icon Only
       b. No visible background or border
       c. Line style: Solid
       d. Set the scaling you want
       e. Whatever else
    3. On the Options tab of the Field Properties dialog, click the "Select Icon" button and choose a page from the PDF that has the content you want to use. EPS/Postscript is an option, but you may want to convert to PDF first to make sure everything is as you want it.
    4. Flatten the button to convert its appearance to regular page contents.
The vector (and text and image) content of the PDF/EPS will be preserved, and can be scaled to fit the area defined by the button boundaries.
You can preconfigue a button with all of the properties set up as you want them, and simply copy & paste it whenever you need to do this, saving a bit of time.

  • Can't print in indesign (icc's) and can't export pdf for PS - booklet workflow?

I have a book of artwork i've laid out in indesign and am trying to print before binding it. All attempted workflows have been thwarted so far - any help is truly appreciated.
    a) printing with a canon pro9000 mark II:
Not possible. I've read into it, done plenty of tests and nothing comes close to a print of the same image from photoshop.
My problems - i can't disable canons color management when having indesign manage colors. The canon presests never grey out (as they do in ps) out and always (seemingly) apply their own icc profile in addition.
Possible solution (which comes close to but doesn't match my ps prints):
Disable indd's color management in edit>color_settings (emulate..off) (printer profile in indd's print settings becomes empty and unavailable) and have canon manage color under printer>color_matching>color_sync>my paper's profile.
This solution is not ideal so i want to export a booklet for ps instead. Here thwarting nr.2:
    b) osx Lion - can't export indesign document booklet as a pdf.
I've read other posts on this and there are workarounds through postscript but then i'd have to convert everything to cmyk if i understood this right. Not good.
Is there any way to print my book in indesign or get it into photoshop as a booklet? Ideally with the text still intact rather than flattened into an image?
I know there might not be answers to the specific issues above but i was hoping anybody could if not help me then suggest an alternative workflow. All i want to do is print my book reliably with icc profiles. Is this really not possible?
Thank you so much and all help is truely appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Danny
(i had a former post with a. as a topic which i will delete to avoid redundancy. Also - please forgive if this has been discussed before and point me in the right direction. Last not least i have read most threads on the topic so while a former topic might have dealt with my problems it's solution - by my understanding - didn't work for me. Example: postscript for pdf because of cmyk. At the same time i fully acknowledge i might just have not fully understood the solution. Thanks!)

I can't help with your color proplem -- don't know the printer -- but you can use a script to impose your booklet in a new file, then export that to PDF.
The two I use are by Dave Saunders. The first, http://pdsassoc.com/downloads/Buildbooklet.zip merely shuffles the pages in a new file. You then export that as spreads. It's very fast and easy, but cannot handle objects that cross the spine.
The second is at Dave's CS3 Booklet Script and works by placing pages into a new spread-size document. This one does do cross-spine objects, but neither one handles creep. It's been awhile since I used either, but I think bleeds may be an issue for the second script, too.
There are also imposing plugins for Acrobat...

  • Novice: Can I add vector graphics to a pdf?

Have Acrobat Pro 7 but have been using it only for creating simple pdfs from Office documents.
I'm starting my education on other capabilities.
Can I add vector graphics (shapes, text) to a pdf or do I need to get the pdf into a tool like AI first?
We're going to be working with maps (GIS output) and, to start, I'm assuming we'll want the maps as pdfs.  In some cases we'll want to add some markup.
    Thanks
    Tom

As PDF is, essentially, a "non-editable" format (aside from minor touchups) you'll want to work content in an authoring application.
Output a PDF, containing the vector graphics, from an authoring application.
Provide the desired PDF page content in an authoring application as well.
    Be well...

  • Can Flash do true vector graphics?

I created a drawing in Flash with the pen tool and paint
bucket. Some of the drawing I may have used the line segment tool
and connected the points. Other parts of the drawing I may have
started with a circle, added points, and strecthed parts to make my
desired shape. I exported the file to an .eps format.
I want a drawing to be transcribed to a T-shirt.
Unfortunately the two shops I've worked with know CorelDraw
and not Flash. One lady knows Illustrator and I have also
exported to an .ai format for Illustrator. However when
they open those formats of my drawings come as individual
vectors with outlines around each piece. They said they would have
redraw the artwork in CorelDraw at a major expense. Can Flash do
true vector graphics such that a drawing of a figure, for example,
with many different colors so that the exported .eps or .ai file is
a true vector graphic and not all in pieces? Or should I go with
Illustrator CS3? I have used both programs and most of the drawing
tools and methods seem to be the same, does Illustrator create true
    vector graphics?

While your code might be correctly written, a 1009 error is not about incorrect code.  The 1009 error indicates that one of the objects being targeted by your code is out of scope.  This could mean that the object....
    - is declared but not instantiated
    - doesn't have an instance name (or the instance name is mispelled)
    - does not exist in the frame where that code is trying to talk to it
    - is animated into place but is not assigned instance names in every keyframe for it
    - is one of two or more consecutive keyframes of the same objects with no name assigned in the preceding frame(s).
If you go into your Publish Settings Flash section and select the option to Permit debugging, your error message should have a line number following the frame number which will help you isolate which object is involved.

  • (How can we) Export FXG from Flash Professional using JSFL

How can we export a selection from Flash Professional as .FXG using JSFL? It appears that this is not possible... just yet! I have added this as a feature request within the Adobe Labs site for Flash Professional. Someone at Adobe suggested that I also explore the forums, so here we are. If you would also like to have this feature added, please let Adobe know by promoting the idea.
Our use case is this: we have a large Flash file with a library of over one thousand skins and assets that were built in Flash with Adobe's Flex Skins Templates. These stateful, graphical skins were used within a custom theme by several Flex 3 projects. Our ultimate goal is to bring these through Catalyst, maintaining their vectors, and use them to create Spark skins.
We've got a JSFL that can export each linked library asset, as well as any frame-labeled 'state' within these clips. However, currently we are using exportPNG, which is not ideal as it flattens our vector art into raster images. We are about to try the exportSWF option, and see what Flash Catalyst does with this. Our early attemps with importing swf's haven't been too amazing.
I'm starting to imagine some cross-product scripting in which we export symbols at a state-by-state level as .swf from Flash, then rebuild these onto layers in Illustrator, and THEN import these into Catalyst...yikes!
    Anyone have a better solution?

    Follow-up:
Out of pure wishful thinking I decided I would just see what happened if I pretended 'exportFXG' was already a part of JSFL. Based on the signature of 'exportPNG', i tried the following lines:
      var success = fl.getDocumentDOM().exportFXG("file:///C:/mySymbol.fxg");
      fl.trace("success:"+success); // output: success:true
It worked! Fantastic! I'm not sure if exportFXG is considered still in "beta" and therefore intentionally excluded from the docs, or if it was just an oversight. But at least it gives us something to experiment with.

  • Can I Export to Text File?

    hi,
can i export my ical events to a text file?
    thanks.
    samantha

I have figured out a way to do this with free available programs:
    Download this program:
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/faview.html
Faview will allow the bookmarks exported in html format to be saved as a text file. This text file is in a uniform state.
Open the text file with a spreadsheet program. I used the free program called spread32.exe that can be found anywhere on the internet.
Highlight all the columns and do a sort by Column A. The urls will now be in alphabetical order at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Cut and paste into a new text file.

How can I digitalize a document text in PDF and export it to WORD?

If you already have a PDF document, ExportPDF can help you with this task. https://www.acrobat.com/exportpdf/en/convert-pdf-to-word.html
On the other hand, if you have a physical document, you'll need to scan it into a PDF document first.
Depending on what you need to do you may require different tools & services, so please help us out with more details.
