Can Flash fuse together adjoining vector areas of same colour ?

Hi,
Can I select all areas of the same fill/line colour attributes and tell flash to fuse them together into one new area so removing all the internal vector edges ?
Where is that command ?
Desperately wondering how I can reduce the complexity of some artwork, to try and stop CS5 crashing, or CS4 saying out of memory.
I have a graphics exported from a mapping program as an Adobe Illustrator file. Lots of adjoining coloured areas, there being five different colours on the map. many of these areas abutt and are the same colour, so the vector lines between them could be removed and hopefully reduce the file size.
Explained a different way, imagine a world atlas map with France Germany and Spain all in yellow, can I select them and choose fuse and lose their adjoining boundaries ?
Is there in fact a clever way of getting flash to select all areas of the same colour, so I dont miss any , then fuse them ?
This assumes that my issues lie with complexity of artwork and not just the number of layers I have in my movie clip.
I seem to have reached a limit of Flash CS5, 27Mb file of 16 layers, each layer a movie clip, 5 of which are these coloured areas. This will severeley limit my plans yet I see far more complex diagrams on the net. If this was a Freehand file it would be a few Kb.
Any other ideas how to lessen file size for such maps ?

(in CS3 and previous versions) Fills of the EXACT same colour and touching eachother do merge into one. However they need to be on the same layer and in the same place(all on the main timeline or all in a movieclip). Is this what you mean?
right click a movieclip then select break and it should make them a normal fill but stop them being movieclips, then make sure all the fills are on the same layer then select all of the fills and while selected click the colour picker and pick a colour on the fills you have selected and it will make the whole fill joined with the colour you just selected... good luck, save before trying all of this.

Hi,
we are using Vision Assistant 2012 and we want to analyse a coloured picture to find areas of same (plain) colour. That means we have a coloured picture with artworks and text and we want to find the areas which have the same colour without any text or anything else in it.
Does anyone have an idea how to do this on an easy way?

You could use a color threshold and set the RGB ranges to encapsulate only the color ranges you want to find. This will give you a binary image with all of the detected colors being 1 and all other pixels being 0. You may also want to use a partical filter to get rid of any small blobs. What do you want to do with these detected sections of color once you find them?

I'm trying to access a forum that requires a user name and password. When I do it on my mac it tells me the password is incorrect but when I do it on my iPad, I can access it without any problem. I can confirm the username and password are the same

I am trying to access a forum for which you need a username and password but it keeps telling me the username/password i've entered are incorrect. Bizarrely, when I enter the same username/password combination on my iPad, it grants access without any problem.
What could be causing this, is it an issue with cookies, caches or similar. How can I resolve it? The forum administrator is at a loss as to what the problem is.

Try the following steps in Safari to see if they help:
1) First try clearing the Safari cache. To do this pull down the Safari menu and select 'Empty cache...', then try logging into the site again.
2) If the issue continues then reset Safari by pulling down the Safari menu and select'Reset Safari...'. You will be presented with a list of items that can be reset. I suggest selecting the 'Reset saved names and passwords', and 'Remove all website data' options at a minimum.

Can we compress the cubes which are having same request numbers at a time?

Hi all,
Here is the situation. We have nine cubes which are all having the same request numbers...for some reason the compression has not taken place for all these cubes. Please note that we have design in process chain to compress all the data..but it has failed to do so. Please advise the possible reason....and how to rectify this in future. This is happenning for the last one week.
Now, trying to do it manually..Can I start doing this manually to all cubes simultaneously or I need to do it one by one cube...
Please advise.

Thanks for your advise. We are observing for the last one week that the process chain is getting failed at compression level. We have checked at the cube level and found that all the data's were loaded successfully and all the aggregates were rolled up successfully.
Means, for the cubes, in the manage tab,
1.Roll up status is showing green
2.Compression status of aggregate is showing green
3. Request for reporting is available
4. But, the compression status in infocube is not showing any status (Field is blank.No green tick mark!)
When we checked the error message in the process chain,
we have observed as below:

RSCDS_BUILD_STORED_PROC
BUILD_REPORT
RSS_TEMPLATE_INSTANTIATE.
The database view " /BIC/D100299T" is Write -Protecte.

Im updating the text/lines every 10 seconds .
And calling the PostMessage method every second.
And when im calling the PostMessage it should it should call inside the method PostFacebookWall only when the whole line is not identical to other lines and if a word in words is exist in any line.
The variable WorldList.words is string[] contain some words(string).
For example if i have this line:
"hello this is a test"
So the word test exist in words so post this line.
Then if i have another line :
"hello this is a test" so in dont post this line since its the same.
But if i have a line: "hi this is a test" the word test exist but the whole line is not the same as above so post this line.
And of course if there is a different line with a word that exist like: "my name"
Then post this line too.

Can Flash do true vector graphics?

I created a drawing in Flash with the pen tool and paint
bucket. Some of the drawing I may have used the line segment tool
and connected the points. Other parts of the drawing I may have
started with a circle, added points, and strecthed parts to make my
desired shape. I exported the file to an .eps format.
I want a drawing to be transcribed to a T-shirt.
Unfortunately the two shops I've worked with know CorelDraw
and not Flash. One lady knows Illustrator and I have also
exported to an .ai format for Illustrator. However when
they open those formats of my drawings come as individual
vectors with outlines around each piece. They said they would have
redraw the artwork in CorelDraw at a major expense. Can Flash do
true vector graphics such that a drawing of a figure, for example,
with many different colors so that the exported .eps or .ai file is
a true vector graphic and not all in pieces? Or should I go with
Illustrator CS3? I have used both programs and most of the drawing
tools and methods seem to be the same, does Illustrator create true
vector graphics?

While your code might be correctly written, a 1009 error is not about incorrect code. The 1009 error indicates that one of the objects being targeted by your code is out of scope. This could mean that the object....
- is declared but not instantiated
- doesn't have an instance name (or the instance name is mispelled)

If you go into your Publish Settings Flash section and select the option to Permit debugging, your error message should have a line number following the frame number which will help you isolate which object is involved.

How can I join together a photo and a text (or other vector files)?

I'm trying to do a poster with a sort of graffiti writings on a wall but I can't reach for any kind of realism. I'd like to see the writing on the wall like it was actually written.
I'm using a real photo behind the writings but the image and the text don't connect together, it is simply like a copy-past work. I don't know if I was clear because English is not my first language.. the effect I'd like to reach is like if the writings were printed on the wall.. but the wall is a photo so I don't know if they can be joined together..

Sounds like you are looking to make the writing realistic. That is better done in photoshop. Some tisp you can sue

If your wall is made of brick for example, you can save a grayscale imageg of your weall and use displace in photoshop to distort the writng so it looks liek it is follwoing a bump mapo of the grayscale imaeg you made
you can use a grayscale of your wall as a mask on your writing. Use a curve to brighten the mask, so most of the writing shows through, except for some edges and such you want to roughen up

Go to the Music section of your Library (very top-left corner) and see if your songs are there. The "Purchased" playlist may have been deleted or gotten corrupted, but if that happens it's not a big deal because your music should still be in your main Music Library.

You can transfer photos outside of iTunes. I do it all the time. THat said, i have a 50/50 success rate with them. I'd avoid sandisk and kingston, their bundled software triggers the 'too much power' warning.
I've had mixed luck with lexar, some work, some don't.
I did have good luck with an older 4 gig geek squad one.
Look for drives without software on them, without bright LED lights and I haven't gotten any larger than 4 gig to work, but that may just be me.
For a less troublesome way? h onestly, I use a SD card that I've formatted with the DCIM folder. I've never had one of them trigger the 'too much power' warning. Just make sure they're not SDXC. those don't work.

Yesterday, while playing Mafia Wars, I kept getting a bar notification that "The game can not load completely because you are missing a plugin? When I clicked on the box I got an 1/2" popup, which probably contains the information I need but it is too small to find out what it is. You can not maximize it. The is nothing visible to click on. Flash and Java are all up to date, as well as all other plugins. No plugins are disabled. How can I find what I am missing?
