Can Flickr RSS feeds be viewed?

So I know that Flickr photos can be used on AppleTV now. Any word on how that's actually done? Anyone know if you can specify an RSS feed? I'd like to be able to view photos by one particular user who's tagged specific photos with a keyword and use an RSS feed to view these photos.
Thoughts?

No one can really answer that until the SU is released, there is certainly no mention of RSS feeds on the promotional stuff  are feeding us, my guess would be no but who knows.

  • Flickr RSS feeds into iPhoto 6?

I have tried "subscribing" to some flickr RSS feeds in the hope that iPhoto would automatically download the originals....a bit like photocasting but not going via .Mac.
    feed://www.flickr.com/services/feeds/photospublic.gne?id=83555001@N00&format=rss200
It almost works but for some reason it seems to stay limited to 10 pictures and the previously downloaded pics get put in trash!
Googling around I found out about phlikr.3xi.org but that seems to do nothing!
ANyone had any success in getting Flickr feeds to download originals into iPhoto and how?
      Mac OS X (10.4.6)   iPhoto 6.02

try this. it will do the trick.

  • Subscribing to Flickr RSS Feeds in iPhoto

I don't know how many people know this, but you can view RSS photo feeds directly in iPhoto. If you take someone's RSS Feed address from flickr, for example:
    feed://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photospublic.gne?id=14777744@N00&format=rss200
Then in iPhoto click Subscribe to Photocast... and insert the address, then click Subscribe. All the photos in the flickr feed now show up in iPhoto! Only catch is, these appear to be just the thumbnails with no way of viewing the fullsize photos! Anyone know a way around this?

I was just searching through the forums trying to find an answer to the same question you are asking: how can one subsribe (aka photocast) to a flickr RSS and get a good feed that has large photos and not thumbnails...
And although I too do not have a direct answer, I do have something you might be interested in... Google!
Have you ever used Google's Picasa web albums? Well I think you will like it much better than flickr (unless you use flickr for its community where it surely wins, but I just wanted a free and easy way to photocast and I found it)
    1) So first you want an easy way to upload pictures to google, which is essentially creating your photocast. To do this get google's free export feature that is a direct plug in into iphoto and works great:
    http://picasa.google.com/web/mac_tools.html
    2) Next, once you have easily uploaded photos navigate to the album's webpage and view it. Here you can find its RSS feed and copy that feed into any iPhoto as a photocast and bingo you have it with full size pictures rather than what flickr gives you
    Limitations include:
    1) Each album has its own RSS rather than an entire user one, but I like this feature over flickr's method of an entire RSS per user...
    2) I tried using different compressions for uploading a single photo. From here I opened iphoto and tested the subscription feed of the photos. As it turns out, the RSS feed still generates thumbnails becaue they do not reflect the true uploaded images' sizes, BUT the size is much larger and better than that of Flickr's size making it a suitable photocasting method. But not perfect because the RSS feed does not contain the entire image as does .Mac's method...
    Hope this helps,

  • HT1819 Can I update podcast RSS feed without deleting current location?

I have changed where my podcast are hosted so I am trying to figure what I need to do on iTunes. Can the RSS feed be updated or do I have to start a brand new podcast?

If you don't have access to the old feed to add the redirection tag to it you can't redirect iTunes yourself. Email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to do it for you - give them the Store URL and the URLs of both feeds.

  • Turning my audio files into rss feed for podcasting

I have been trying to figure this out for a while now and my brain is ready to explode!  My website is hopechurchla.com.  I am trying to make the audio files in our sermon archive into an RSS feed so that I can turn it into a podcast.  everything I read seems to say it is simple but it is skipping over the first step for me.  How do I place the rss feed into my page for the audio files.
I may not even be asking this right... any help would be appreciated
    avery

There is no need to do anything to your audio files to make them into an RSS feed. An RSS feed is simply a list of links and descriptions that people can subscribe to, written in xml language.
You can use whatever type of audio files you might like, but you'll probably give a broader audiance access to the audio files if they are of the file type mp3.
So store all your mp3s in a folder named "sermons" or whatever you may choose and then link to them in your .xml file.... this becomes the RSS feed. But be aware that viewers will need either a browser that can open RSS feed documents or some sort of New Reader like:
    http://email.about.com/od/rssreaderswin/tp/top_rss_windows.htm
    For a sample RSS feed:
    http://www.lynnjohnson.citradingcards.com/podcast.xml
view the source code to see the structure.
    Or
    http://www.podcast411.com/howto_1.html
.... tons of similar tutorials on line.
But no... yuo don't do anything with the audio except perhaps make sure they are all mp3 files and stored in a separate folder.

  • IWeb, RSS Feed, iStore

I already have a blog page, could i generate an RSS from this also and how ?
    Thanks

Yes that should all be possible.

You can also submit your podcasts to the iTunes Store, pointing to the link on your web site.

  • RSS Feeds and older Safari

I was wondering if you can get RSS feeds on older versions of Safari. I am running 1.3 right now.
If this is not possible, than is their a way to load Safari 2.0 onto Mac OSX 10.3.9?
    Thanks for your help.
    GH

    Greg,
there´s no way of loading Safari 2.0 on Panther. Try using a different browser. I´m a news junkie too and I´ve been searching for a browser that has an RSS feed feature and which could run under 10.3.9. I´ve found Opera (no ads, free) and Omniweb ($29.95) to be the best on this feature.

  • RSS Feed Question

    Hi,
I'm thinking of writing a code to notify me of new posts, etc and I am planning to use RSS as source.
I want to know is there any limitation on how many times we can refresh RSS. Does it block IP if I refresh every 10seconds?
Also, how latest are the RSS feeds? Is there any explicit delay set between what we see on forum website and the RSS feed?
    Thanks in advance.
    liquidloop[at]live[dot]co[dot]uk

In MS Outlook RSS Feeds, you can use RSS Feed URL and there you get notifications. Meaning that, you can receive new post in Outlook and also desktop alert.
Sorry, I don't have answers for your other questions :(

  • Group RSS feeds?

I used Vienna before upgrading to Leopard. Having RSS feeds in Mail is superior to having a second app IMO.
But, with Vienna you can group RSS feeds into folders, is that possible with Apple Mail?

Hallo, you can do this by making a "Mailbox" (read: folder) in the RSS location and dragging your feeds into it.
    Cheers

  • I have done what it said in a previous question and exported my IE RSS feeds, but I can't understand how to import them into FireFox ot how to view them once they are imported.

In a previous question, someone asked hoe to import RSS feeds from IE to FireFox:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/358684?s=rss&as=q
I have done as it says, but had trouble with the second step which was "installing OPML Support 1.5.2 extension for Firefox, which you can use to import OPML file you just exported from IE". I think I installed the extension, but now what? how does it help me import the feeds? And where do i view RSS feeds in FireFox?

  • Can I view rss feeds on my Ipad from mail on my mac

I have all my mail accounts set up on my Ipad but I am not able to view the RSS feeds that are set up in my mail account on my macbook. Is there any way to view these on my Ipad or another device?

I don't know about iPad Mail, but there are numerous RSS feed viewers you can download from the app store such as NetNewsWire, for example.

  • Image previews do not appear when viewing RSS feed in Mail, why not?

When I view the Cult of Mac RSS feeds on my old white Macbook I get the image previews displayed right away in Mail but on my 2010 MBP there is just a question mark where the image should be. Any idea how I can get the images to appear on my MBP?
When I click to 'read more' and the page opens fully in Safari the images are viewable.
    cheers

Sure Thing...This is a screenshot of the Slider Menu with the buttons to the social media as they should be. Note: this is a screen shot taken from a "preview in browser" (Chrome) through Muse. When it builds and uploads, I no longer see the buttons and there is no hover state as there should be. Hope this helps-

  • Authenticated RSS feeds viewer in Sharepoint 2010

    Hi All,
I need to create an RSS feed viewer in the sharepoint page from an external site (Service Now) in which authentication is needed. I tried adding the OOTB RSS viewer webpart and found out that in our environment they are not allowing authenticated
RSS feeds. So there is no point of asking for changing the authentication settings also.
Could some one let me know if there is any workaround to include the authenticated RSS feeds viewer in the sharepoint environment. Please let me know if we can achieve the same through any CEWP?
    Thanks In Advance
    Jithin

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to use RSS feeds in SharePoint 2010.
Please check as the links below:

We can also try to use Content Query Web Part to achieve it.
