Can forms 6 and 6i software co-exist on a single PC

Can forms 6 and 6i software co-exist on a single PC. If it's not possible, any other recommendations? My developement needs to support a 6 and a 6i application from a single PC.

Developer Forms 6.0 and Forms 6i cannot co-exist in the same ORACLE HOME, but you can install them in different homes. Install 6.0 in the default home and Forms 6i in a separate home.

  • Can Forms6i and Forms9i Developer Co-exist on one machine?

    Hi All,
Can any one tried to install Forms Developer6i and 9i together on same machine(Win2000 professional) working independently. Is there anything I need to change in registry. How does this workout if I have to work on 2 different forms with different versions on same machine. I am working on form6i to 9i upgrade while giving production support to existing forms6i.
    Thanks in advance.

What issue are you having? You can install both versions of Forms into separate homes. You then have two versions of your Forms application, in different directories. Then your FORMS60_PATH points to your Forms 6i forms, and your FORMS90_PATH points to your Oracle9i Forms forms. There is no conflict.

  • Can Oracle9i and Oracle 9iAS co-exist on same machine.

I was wondering if Oracle9i and Oracle 9iAS can co-exist on same machine. I like to play around with 9iAS and I already have 9i database up and running on this one box.
    Thanks.

  • Can ASMLib and udev disks co-exist

    Grid version:11.2.0.3
    OS : RHEL 5.8
Currently we use ASMLib to stamp our LUNs. We want to start using udev for the device persistancy in our RAC Nodes.
Can disks labelled using ASMLib and disks named by udev co-exist in a single disk group ?

I don't see why you can't mix udev and ASMlib defined devices, just set your asm_diskstring accordingly. In this example, I'm mixing ASMlib and NFS devices and it works no problem:
    SQL>
    SQL> sho parameter asm_d
    NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
    asm_diskgroups                       string      ACFSV1, ACFSV2
    asm_diskstring                       string      ORCL:*, /u01/nfs_shares/asm/ir
                                                     on*
    SQL> select path from v$asm_disk;
    PATH
    /dev/oracleasm/disks/LUN5
    /dev/oracleasm/disks/LUN4
    /dev/oracleasm/disks/LUN3
    /dev/oracleasm/disks/LUN2
    ORCL:LUN5
    /dev/oracleasm/disks/LUN1
    /u01/nfs_shares/asm/irond5
    ORCL:LUN1
    ORCL:LUN2
    ORCL:LUN3
    ORCL:LUN4
    /u01/nfs_shares/asm/irond3
    /u01/nfs_shares/asm/irond2
    /u01/nfs_shares/asm/irond4
    /u01/nfs_shares/asm/irond1
    /u01/nfs_shares/asm/irond6

  • How to install Oracle Form and Report 6i on existing database

    Hi all please help me,
My system is rhel 3 (update 6). My question is how can i install Oracle form and report 6i on my machine, which is already have database 10g R2? I known i have to create two separate ORACLE_HOME. Since i already had database 10g R2, can i just go head install Oracle form and report 6i on separate ORACLE_HOME? or i need to remove database 10g R2 first, and then install Oracle form and report 6i
    Thanks in advances

<< Why Forms/Reports 6i and not something later, BTW? >>
Presumably he has to support a client/server application. They haven't all disappeared overnight, despite what Oracle tell everyone.

  • How I can format and reinstall software in 9300i

I have a sofware problem in my 9300i and want to format and reinstall it to default settings?

    Hi ehawary
    To perform a hard reset on the Nokia 9300i, follow these steps;
    1) Remove the battery from the phone and wait 10 seconds.
    2) Insert the battery and IMMEDIATELY press and hold the following keys: SHIFT + CTRL + F
    3) When you are prompted with "Are you sure you would like to format the drive?", release the keys.
If the battery is left out too long, you may need to press the power button.

  • Can FCE2 and FCE3(HD) co-exist ?

    …or does the FCE 3 installer overwrite FCE2 ?

Tom, you mentioned renaming FCE to me the other day.
Is it enough to just rename the Application Icon? What about all the other files connected with it such as the FCE System ID, .plists etc.?
Also, how would you rename it?
Would "Old FCE 2" be sufficient or does any reference to FCE need to be obliterated?
    Ian.

  • From Forms Product Management -Using Forms and SCM

Oracle9i Forms and Oracle9i Software Configuration Manager (SCM) are integrated so that software configuration management can be done directly from Oracle9i Forms Developer.
Check out this new paper in the "NEWS" section on http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms
    for more details.

I don't think you'll get too many replies. I expect most people here are either committed to using Web Forms already (and so don't need this functionality) or else are still in client-server mode (and so don't understand what you asking).
We are just in the process of migrating from Forms4.5 to 9i (I'm in the WebUtil beta) and we are still finding out all sorts of non-obvious things about web-deployment - don't get me started on how awful the whole GIF thing is! So I'm not really qualified to have an opinion about Webstart. I only have the vaguest idea what it does and I'm not sure I want to read up about it just so I can tell you whether to go ahead with it.
What I will say is this:
    (1) Anything that makes 9i Forms more like a client-server experience for the users would be a good thing, bceause it would minimise the shock of transition.
    (2) Choice is a good thing. Your recent experience of developers' spleen over the removal of client-server should tell you that people respond well to being given options and badly to having them removed.
    (3) If I've correctly understood Haris Peco in their second point we could get rid of O9iAS and that would be flipping marvellous for everybody (except possibly the VP in charge of O9iAS Sales :P).
    My tuppence ha'penny worth.

  • Installing Forms and Reports 6i

Can Forms and Reports 6i be used with Oracle 8i Ver 8.1.5 also can the default home directory be the same as 8i. I receive an error message stating that I can't and was wondering if the two programs are compatible.

We installed Forms6i in 8.1.6 Oracle Home but it corrupted everything. Checking Metalink postings it looks that Forms6i only supports 8.0.6. You install it in a seperate Oracle Home. If you have 11i, the technology stack on the 8.0.6 side already has forms6i runtime and dvlp env installed. You can use those tools by running forms60.sh (You setup variables it needs) in oralce home and then run f60desm. Run X on your PC client.

  • Can't Drag and Drop with a Double Tap using Single Finger in Lion?

I installed the Mac OS X Lion two days. But I can't drag and drop with a Double tap using Single Finger, which I used to do in Snow Leopard.
If I choose Three Finger Move, then Swap Between Pages goes back to "Scroll left or right with Two Fingers" that only works with Safari, but doesn't work with Chrome or Firefox.
I tried literally every setting in Trackpad and also checked if there was a override settings and there is no overrride setting.
Would be thankful, if you guys could suggest me what to do?

  • Trying to buy Imovie form App store and have the message: These apps cannot be accepted on this computer.     Future updates of these apps can be found through Software Update. How to solve it?

I have a MBP form July 2011, upgraded to Lion 10.7.4. Last week I had to restore the OS.
I also bought some time ago Iphoto.
Today I wanted to install Imovie from App Store. Instead of the Buy bottom I found an Accept bottom and when I tryed to install I had the message:
These apps cannot be accepted on this computer.
Future updates of these apps can be found through Software Update.
I looked for a solution and found a lot of questions about this error but not real answers to fix it.
Can you please let me know hoe to fix?

Your Mac should have had all three of the iLife apps pre-bundled with it; iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand. If your Mac came with Mac OS X Snow Leopard installed, then the apps should be on the Install DVD that came with your Mac, perhaps in a folder on the disc labeled bundled apps. After installing them, these apps would not be updated through the Mac App Store, but with Software Update.

  • How can I change the password in the iBook donated to our nonprofit.  No password was given with the iBook?  We need to put in printer and other software.  Help, we can use the laptop without changing the password.

How can we change the password in the iBook donated to our nonprofit?  No password was given with the iBook and every time we try to install items, the password window pops up.  We need to put in printer and other software.  Help! We can use the laptop without changing the password.

If you did not get an OS X install-restore DVD with the computer you may need
to buy one from somewhere, and you may be lucky to get a retail OS X 10.5.x
version. The original grey-label install set of software and OS X it shipped with
likely would be an older system than Leopard 10.5. Last versions of G4 Mac, &
G5, shipped with a Tiger 10.4 system; so did early Intel-based Mac. Grey discs
which accompanied other computer build models generally do not interchange.
The last OS X version a PowerPC architecture can use, if supported, is 10.5.8.
A PPC processor at 867MHz & faster should be able to run OS X 10.5 Leopard.
{With the correct disc installer, you can use it to change a password and other
    things including re-install, and perform disk utility functions, etc.}
There is a chance you may be able to get a white-label Replacement 10.4 DVD
or Replacement 10.5 DVD from AppleCare or the online Apple Store (800myapple)
from a Mac OS X system specialist; these have been available yet hard to get
as not all persons involved with them seem to know if they still exist until someone
is asking. These aren't retail stock, are special discs for computers who could use
a system later than original old discs; these are complete install discs not for one
specific series of Mac. Generally they'd work in supported PowerPC G4/G5; but
do not replace specialized original install DVD, such as an early Intel mac requires.
You'd need to have a serial number of the computer, and a method of payment
when seeking some replacement system media from Applecare or Apple sales
and these discs are not available in a retail store. The original Retail discs are
labeled differently and shipped in a retail box with a big X on the front. Other
sources for retail 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard may be online via amazon sellers
or computer resellers who handle repaired Macs. Avoid mystery grey label ones
that were intended to be sold and kept with their original computer kits.
    Good luck!

  • Is there a way we can edit and improve existing youtube videos by using premiere pro? Just simple changes like having professional looking opening and closing credits?

Is there a way we can edit and improve existing youtube videos by using premiere pro? Just simple changes like having professional looking opening and closing credits?

Assuming you do not have access to the "original" video/project and the YouTube video is the only copy, there is a method. Try "YouTube Downloader" which is a free software that allows you to download clips from YouTube as .mp4 files. You can then edit with Premiere, and re-encode again for upload to YouTube. Just keep in mind that you are re-compressing the video so there will be some quality loss. The better the quality of the original, the better the copy will hold up.
