Can holdability of a cursor be changed?

Once you have opened a cursor with desired holdability, is it possible to change it later using jdbc?

Cursors do not allow you to specify a line width. You can, however, specify a different point style if you are just trying to make the cursor stand out.
If you need the lines to be thicker, you could create 2 line annotations and have them draw on top of your cursor. Annotations were added in Measurement Studio 6.0.

I read that 2008 R2 is basically the same as win 7.
Is there a way to change the 2008 R2 wait cursor to the win 7 spinning circle wait cursor? If so, how?

Hi,
AS far as i know there have no offical method you can move that pointer, but personal experience is you can install the cursor by your self, you can get the cursor solution on many Windows fans websites.

Can not get text selection cursor to change to column selection cursor

Hi, Thank You for any time and help .
I'm new to InDesign, and I'm hoping to use the new feature of moving columns / rows.
But, I can not get the text cursor to change into the column or row selection cursor.
I am able to get the resize cursor, or use the ctrl+3 shortcut to select the entire column,
but I can not get the downward pointing arrow cursor to select the column, and/or move it.
Sometimes the row selection cursor will appear, and some rows can be moved, but I have been unable to move the columns.

I am able to select and move columns and rows, but columns appear to need a 'clean' column to work / move?

When I use email through firefox, the reply cursor appears at the bottom of the sender's message instead of the top. I hate this! Please can someone tell me how to change it back?

I reloaded my old iWorks 08 to my iMac's new hard drive. With a new Pages document, I can't see the cursor. You can type in text but it is in white only. Any thoughts?

Hi. I lost my iMac's hard drive and had a new one installed. I reloaded my old iWorks 08 software and then transferred my Pages documents from a portable HD to the iMac. The files open but the original text in them (they are journals) are in white against the white background. Plus I can't see any sign of the cursor. I can hi-lite the text and change its colour but never to black. Plus the photos I inserted along side the text are barely visible, as if they had been badly faded.
Any thoughts on this? Many thanks.

You must run Software Update and bring your old iWorks 08 to the latest release for compatibility with the current OS.

You still haven't explained what a text box is.
Repeating what you've already said in "BOLD" text doesn't make the question any clearer.
What does the changing cursor position have to do with anything. I can use the arrow keys to move the cursor without changing the text.

Can't insert text cursor; text is selected as image?

Hi all. Occasionally, as I type in Structured FrameMaker, this happens.
When I try to insert a text cursor the entire page is selected with black dots in the page corners and the middle of each margin. Basically the page is selcted as if it were an image and I can not insert a cursor; all it does is select the page as one entity (with the black dots). I don't even know what this is and the only way I seem to be able to fix it is to close Frame and restart Windows (just closing doesn't work). Can someone tell me what this is and how I can rectify this situation without closing FrameMaker?
A hint: I think this happens if I accidentally click one of the modifier keys (CTL, Command, etc.) but nothing I do after changes it back. I am using Frame in Virtual Box Windows on a Mac.

Thanks for the response. I have done the margin thing ad nauseum and it never works. I do see a hollow arrow that appears so I will remember the crtl+click and see if that works but the outside the margin did nothing except allow me to select the text as an image again when I went back inside the margin. (The cursor changed back into a hollow arrow when I went back inside the margin.)

Can we have the Curser Focus change automatically?

I have an iMac.
The software I use are common software like Page, for a word processor, and Numbers, for a spread sheet.
In Numbers, when I hover over a cell, the cursor changes to allow me to select the cell. When I hover over a text box the cursor changes to a selection tool allowing me to reshape or move the box. At this point if I single tap, the cursor changes to a text tool, at a double tap, I get the entire word selected. The cursor unselects quickly. And the box remains in the poison where it was located after the text edit in the box.
In Muse I find that I can get the cursor to change but it requires many taps, and I have to select from the top menu. Sometimes the selection tool does not un select the text box which causes it to move. When the text tool is selected, because it does not unselect, as I move the cursor over the screen, the text tool is selecting all text below the cursor. Not fun.
This cause me to constantly use cmd+Z to undo the move. If the selection tool unattached itself quicker, and the text box was a little more "sticky" that would save a ton of work and re-work.
Here is an example scenario; When hovering over a target, change to the target tool, one tap, change to the selection tool, and another tap, if a text box is there, change to a text tool. All of these thing without anything under the moving accidentally.

I've got a MacBook Air open and connected to a 27" external screen (dual dvi via lightning port). The keyboard on the Air is my main keyboard. When I accidentally hit the power button the following happens:
Both screens immediately go black.
Exernal screen reactivates.
I can move my cursor for about 2 seconds, maybe Cmd+Tab.
Everything freezes up. At this point, the MacBook Air keyboard is still lit and the Apple logo on the back of the Air is still lit. Keyboard and mouse input don't do anything.
Closing the Air, or disconnecting all devices from the Air and waiting don't seem to do anything.
Only solution is a hard reboot (holding down power for 5 seconds).
All of that for missing the Delete key by about 3mm.

Pie Chart - Have no link and stop cursor from changing.

Hi,
I have a simple pie chart (flash) with the query:
select
     NULL link,
     rag.meaning,
     count(wp_id)
from ......
For this particular chart I do no want a link from the pie chart to another page so I have defined the link as NULL. This works OK and clicking the chart does nothing (as expected).
Unfortunately the cursor still changes from the normal arrow to a pointing finger (as it does for any other hyperlink) which may confuse the user into thinking they should be able to click here and drill down.
How can I stop the link from existing entirely?

CSS Problem: Cursor Not Changing

I want to set the cursor property in css to change the mouse
cursor when over a certain element. However, it won't change to
anything other than the hand (ie. cursor: pointer; works, but
cursor: se-resize; doesn't). It all works perfectly in all browsers
I've tried including Google Chrome which is also powered by webkit.
So what's the go with Adobe AIR? Why can't I get the cursor to

I just got the adobe creative suite 4 and Im trying to use photoshop but as soon as i boot up the software and create a new document my cursor starts off as the hand. Everytime I scroll over to the tool bar and select something different the cursor simply falls back on the main template as the "hand". Do I have a posessed hand or something. Any answeres would really help. I've got to get these scenes done for a cartoon soon.

Cursor color change according to background

The default cursor is Black, and black tool-tips (such as slashes, carats, circles, eyedrop, etc...). However, I have trouble tracking down a certain line segment or end-point when I can't see the black slash on the thick black border. All I can do is change the item to white, make my selection, make the connection, then change it back to black. Very time consuming and interrupts the creative flow.
Is there a plug-in or setting so that the cursor color changes from black to white according to the darkness/lightness of the background? Or am I simply SOL?

Nope, that stuff is hard-coded. If you have difficulty in detecting thin elements, I suggest you use the colored paper simulation in the doc settings/ prefs and assign som contrasty color temporarily If you e.g. work with black and white, obviously something like a dirty lime green or greenish grey will work perfectly rfor both colors...

You can change the CURSOR size which also affects the mouse pointer via System Preferences->Accessibility->Display-> Cursor size >>>>> move cursor size slider to meet your needs.

Gnome cursor not changing

I'm using Gnome 3 on a fairly new install. I have many of the xcursor packages installed, including xcursor-vanilla-dmz-aa which I'm trying to use. But when I select the cursor theme in gnome-tweak-tool nothing happens, the default cursor stays put. I've restarted the whole computer and confirmed that the changes persist in gnome-tweak-tool, but my cursor never changes. I've tried out other cursor packages and none of them work either.
I'm not sure where to go from here, the wiki's all suggest that this should work (although I may be misunderstanding them), and there's no errors in any logs (that I can find anyway). halp?

Your cursor-theme will be in:
/usr/share/icons/
Follow these instructions as root or preface each command with sudo (the default folder doesn't exist in a standard GNOME 3 install so you'll be creating it):
mkdir /usr/share/icons/default
cd /usr/share/icons/default
echo "[Icon Theme]" >> index.theme
echo "Inherits=YOUR_CURSOR_THEME" >> index.theme
Replace "YOUR_CURSOR_THEME" with the name of the cursor theme you'd like to use. Restart X. Edit "index.theme" changing the name of the theme if you'd like to use a different one. You also need to select the same theme in GNOME Tweak Tool as the one you put in this text file.
