Once I move emails to a folder, I can no longer open them on my iPhone. Is there a way to access these emails once moved to a folder? I am using yahoo if that helps. Thanks!

Quit Mail and restart.
Select each of your mailboxes and select Rebuild under the Mailboxes menu.
If those don't help, then reinstall Yosemite:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, or Yosemite

OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet

Can no longer open my Compuserve email with Firefox
As of 4 days ago I can no longer open my emails on my laptop. Compuserve helped change my internet explorer settings, disconnect my McAfee firewall, and allow all cookies. They advised the problem was that something in Mozilla was blocking the complete download of my email page. I installed Firefox 4, but that didn't seem to help. What next?
RobertWhen using Preferences to change the email to Xfinity Lite you loose certain valuable features available in the full verfsiion. This may work for some but I enjoy attaching photos in some emails and having them show in he message boz along with a message. It's a shame that two multi-national companys can't get their act straight. Comcast blames Firefox, Firefox blames Concast. In the meantime users are forced to use Internet Explorer. I hate this kind of stupidity. Millions of consumers are inconvenienced. I suspect that Microsoft and Comcast are schemeing in this matter.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost. -

If you updated to OS X Mavericks, there may have been an automatic update to Numbers 3. Numbers 3 will be in your Applications folder. Numbers '09 has not been replaced. Look for Numbers '09 (Numbers 2.3) in a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. You can run both versions of Numbers at the same time.
I have icons for both versions on my Dock. Drag each to the Dock from Applications folder and Applications > iWork '09 folder. Right click on each and Options > Keep in Dock. Now you have the choice of which to use.
Numbers 2 (3 column chart) on the left. Numbers 3 (4 column chart) on the right.
If a document won't open, try opening from within each version. Or right click on the document and Open With...
You can Export a Numbers 3 document back to Numbers '09 with Menu > Export > Numbers '09...
Post back if you have problems.

Yesterday afternoon, out of the blue, I can no longer open word or excel documents from my gmail account in firefox browser on windows 7. I can in all other browsers. The error message is "There was a problem sending the command to the program"
As a workaround, does it work to save the files first and then open them after saving?
Sometimes when Firefox has problems handing off a download to another program it is caused by a corrupted settings file. That file is hard to edit, so usually we suggest renaming the file to see whether that resolves the issue. Here's how:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
* (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing various files and folders.
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "power" button
* (menu bar) File > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old
Start Firefox back up again and test your Gmail attachments. Any improvement?
Note: This resets some preferences to their defaults, such as which PDF viewer Firefox uses. If you need to update that again, please see this article: [[How to disable the built-in PDF viewer and use another viewer]]. -

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files:
1. Quit Internet Explorer(any other browser)
2. Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
3. Choose Edit > Preferences.
4. Select Internet in the list on the left.
5. Deselect(Uncheck) Display PDF in Browser, and click OK.

Just discovered can no longer open on iPad mini any email attachment PDF file in iBooks. Cannot tap attachment and select open in iBooks. PDF attachment opens itself automatically on the body of the email. Is this a PDF problem or iPad problem or iBooks problem.
It's not a problem with either app. Just hold down on the open PDF to bring up the "open in" window. If hold down on the open PDF and select "Quick Look" , that will give you the full screen file and you will see the share icon in the upper right corner.

Glad that worked for you. <br /> Whilst posters in this thread have the same broad and vague symptom the cause may vary. Reinstalling Firefox may be overkill for this type of problem, and a simple reinstall is often not a very good solution to anything.
Walter & the sign out solution.<br />Probably a quick and simple trick if it works. The clear cache and site cookies suggestion in the second post of this thread is probably a more reliable method of doing of solving that sort of issue.

In fact the thread would be one where clearing cache and cookies would be the preferred solution. Uninstalling a browser and reinstalling a brand new instance of another has a similar effect to clearing cache and cookies, but is nowhere near as convenient. -

I'm happy with my cm1312nfi printer. I've been using it for years, typically 1000 sheets a year, and I was always pleased with it. Until last weekend.
After printing 240 pages full color (yup, once in a printer's life time), I can no longer open the cartridge drawer. For some reason is seems to be stuck. The machine still prints, but the toner cartridges need cleaning and maybe replacement. Also, during printing, some weird noise is made, if some plastic rotating part is blocked and slips from the axis.
I found the service manual on the Internet and looked for a clue. Alas. Then I started disassembling the printer, but that didn't help either. I really have to disassemble all sensitive parts of the laser printer, in order to get access to the cartridge drawer. That is a bit streched for me. I reassembled the printer again, and it is now in the same state as before, with the defect. Last thing I tried was to open the drawer in the middle of a print cycle. Everything is moving then, and maybe it would release the drawer. But unfortunately, this was also not the case.
Are there any other options beside retiring this machine?

A while ago, maybe a year, I purchased Microsoft Office for Mac. I got Word, Excel and a few other things. I used Word fairly frequently to read .docs. I noticed a couple of months ago I can no longer open Word. I always get an error box 'Microsoft Word cannot be opened because of a problem.' Doesn't say what problem is. My guess is I accidentally deleted something critical to opening and using Word.
I would like to re-install the software. The problem is I can't find the MS Office discs. I do not know if I purchased discs or a download. I know that I purchased it but can't remember how and don't seem to have any evidence.
Excel opens and works fine. And I see the Word icon in my 'Applications'. But won't open.
Is there some way I can find out how I purchased this thru Apple and get a back-up download or something? Is there some registration number or proof of purchase attached to a file on my computer I can use to get a replacement download?
Would/Could I have purchased this as part of a larger purchase -- it's not part of the Snow Leopard Box Set is it? Does not seem to be.

Check your credit card(s) invoices. You need to keep them for more than 1 year anyway, for tax purposes. You probably can access them on-line.

Did I miss something in the fine print? I installed Lion and and come to find out, I can no longer open any Word documents or Excel spreadsheets as they are no longer supported (apparently because they are PowerPC apps). Seriously?!?!?!?!! What are my alternatives?

You may be able to use this period to open and resave your old documents in a format that enables you to switch instead to using Apple's iWorks apps moving forward.
I initially intended to do something similar, but ended up buying Office as it provided an easier way (for me, at least) to continue working with years worth of old emails, letters, spreadsheets and other documents (from my PC days) without risking damage to their integrity, formatting, etc. -
