Can I access iTunes from a borrowed computer?

Can I access iTunes to own and maintain and iPod with a borrowed computer, such as a library's? Can I access iTunes through the Internet or do I need to load software to a computer (which I could not do with a borrowed computer)?

You need to have iTunes, both to add content to the iPod and also to maintain the iPods software. All software updates for the iPod's operating system are done through iTunes 7.

  • HT1491 Can't access iTunes from my Music, no iTunes app on my phone, unable to delete downloaded apps

After I reset my 4s, I am still unable to go to iTunes from my Music (it used to be on the top corner or pop up after using Shazam). I have updated my laptop iTunes & now am in the process of the iPhone update. I have done the apple id check and pretty much looked through every single option on my phone with no luck. I also have added an iPad to the account. When I log onto iTunes via computer it shows all 3 active. I am able to get to iTunes on my iPad.
The apps I have downloaded are unable to be deleted after resetting my phone as well. I can get them to "shake" but there is no red circle to delete the ones like google, facebook, etc. I have to connect to my laptop, remove & sync to get this done. My iPad is able to delete items on the device without connecting to laptop. Apple store told me I had to come in & offered no advice over the phone so if anyone could offer some before I make the drive, it would be much appreciated!!

Yes for iTunes store to work, you have to be on a WiFi netowork (not using Edge).
Now you may not, but most people have WiFi at home now (they setup WiFi in their house for their computers and other devices), so for those, they just join their network (Settings => WiFi)
Also there are free WiFi hotspots out in the world (Panera Bread, McDonalds, Coffee places, bars, etc). One would join them the same way.

  • Downloaded word for ipad, can't access itunes from my laptop

I am receiving an error accessing itunes on my laptop stating that the program I downloaded isn't available to download, programs listed is Word and Excel for ipad.
I did download word and excel for my ipad, but why is it impacting itunes on a different device?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • HT203180 Can I transfer itunes from ipod to computer?

Does anyone know if I could transfer my itunes from my ipod to my computer?

If they were purchased from iTunes then you should be able to copy them over to your computer's iTunes via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option (if you have iTunes 11 on your PC then Alt-F should get the File menu to appear).

  • Can't access itunes library on new computer???

We recently purchased a new Mac computer. Prior to this all of our music for Itunes was stored on our external hard drive. Now...when we put the external hard drive on the new computer..we cannot access any of the libraries on itunes.  If you plug in a device all of the music/apps etc show up, but when you just open the computer up and click on itunes...we have nothing in the library.
So confused on what to do...does anyone know?

  • Can u access itunes account on 2nd computer?

Hi, I doubt im the first this has happen to so I hope someone can help?
The laptop with my itunes set up on has gone due to a cracked screen. the other laptop in our house already has someone elses itunes set up on it.
is there anyway, i can use itunes on this laptop?? everytime ive tried it gives a warning that computer already is set up with another itunes account. i dont want to knock out their account and make them lose all their music but also i dont want to lose whats on my iphone.
and how stupid is it that you cant delete tracks off your iphone directly. totally unnecessary restriction.
    thanks
    Al

An account is just a user name and password. You can log into your account from any computer that has itunes.
Logging into your account will not bring up your music. You get ONE download of your music. After that it is your responsibility to backup your music and move it wherever you want it.
Likewise, logging out of your account does nothing to the music that is stored on the computer. Your account is for purchasing music.
What is it that you are trying to accomplish?
You can set up two different itunes libraries/users accounts:

  • I am unable to access iTunes from 64-bit computer.

It worked at first but now it does not. I honestly have no idea what to do and I am not able to download or update any music on my iPod. I have tried un-installing the program, and then re-installing it but I am having the same results as before. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Right afterwards, I get a notification from my computer's action center saying that iTunes has stopped working properly
Fingers crossed, your Windows 7 will have been recording some additional information about those.
First, open your Action Center and expand "Maintenance". Click "View reliability history":
Once the reliability report has been generated, look for Critical events for iTunes generated at the time of the "iTunes has stopped working" messages. Doubleclick the name iTunes in the critical events. (Don't click View solution.)
For example, here's a screenshot of my system showing what to click. (I don't have any iTunes critical events at the moment, so I'm using an Oblivion event to illustrate what we need to do.)
You should see something that looks like the following screenshot (only for iTunes, not Oblivion):
Copy and paste the contents of the problem report into a reply here. For example:
