Yes, your late-'08 unibody MBP can use 8GB:

  • Can we add external graphic card on macbook pro

can we add graphic card to my macbook pro late 2011
    i7 processor

Not yet, no. MSI is showing an early demonstration of a Thunderbolt peripheral that will host an external graphics card, so there may be a solution eventually though it currently is Windows-only. See:

  • How do I add more RAM to my macbook pro 15 inch late 2008 model?

I am wondering if I ma able to add more RAM to my 15 inch MacBook Pro from late 2008. It currently has 2 slots each with 2GB of RAM each. Am I able to change those out with higher amounts of RAM for each slot? Or is this thing maxed out and i'm out of luck? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Can I use 1333MHz RAM in a MacBook Pro Mid 2012?

    Hi.
My MacBook Pro Mid ´12 comes with 4GB 1600MHz RAM. I upgraded this to 8GB 1333MHz. Does this cause a hot MacBook Pro near the battery?

    phlek wrote:
Can the 1333MHz RAM be the problem for heating?
Not likely.  Usually it will be a function of the stress placed on the CPU/GPU by applications.  Hardware faults may be another source of heat such as the fans.
I will buy Corsair Vengance, what do you think about this brand?
If the specifications are the correct ones, it should work.
    Ciao.

  • Can i add more memory to my macbook pro?

It currently has 4 GB installed. Can I add more memory?

Which model MBP do you have? 15" late 2011, for example.
Go to the Crucial website and use the System Scanner tab to determine which upgrades are available for your model - you don't have to buy from Crucial, but they do offer some of the best RAM for Macs available.
    Good luck,

  • Can I add more memory to a MacBook Pro after purchase?

What can handle the most memory (RAM?) and speed - MacBook Pro or iMac?  I'll be using Adobe Creative Suite 6.  I prefer MacBook Pro because of portability, but don't know how it compares to iMac in memory and speed.  Thank you.

The only currently produced MacBook Pro with user-replaceable memory is the entry level, non-Retina model.
The only currently produced iMac with user-replaceable memory is the 27" model.
The MacBook Pro can address as much as 16 GB RAM (though that configuration is not available from Apple).
The iMac can address as much as 32 GB.
Creative Suite 6 will work fine on either one but the iMac is by far the more capable of the two models.

  • Can i add a ssd to my macbook pro retina?

    Hi,
I would like to add a ssd drive to my macbook pro retina 13", but i dont know if it will work / if the size is good.
    The one i wanted to buy : http://www.cdiscountpro.com/informatique/ssd/samsung-produits-samsung-disque-dur -ssd-mz7pd512bweu-p1209666.htm
    Thanks for your answer

If you want to add an SSD it must be an external SSD. There is no space in the retina macbook Pro to put an additional SSD. The retina already has a flash drive.
The best you can do internally is upgrade the internal flash storage http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/SSDAP12R480/

  • Can i use 32Gb RAM on my macbook pro 2012

    Can i use 32Gb (2 x 16Gb) RAM on my 2012 Macbook Pro????

No, the maximum RAM your MBP will recognize is 16 GB.
I suspect that chips with 16GB on each chip are probably of a different configuration than the 204 pin chips that the MBP accepts therefore could not be installed anyway.
The best sources for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.
    Ciao.

  • Can i upgrade my RAM on my MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch late 2012?

    Hello,
Since yesterday i keep getting a screen which says my Program memory is low. and it keeps pausing the programs which are currently open.
then it gives me the option to force quit them. I also did disk utility. i cleaned languages which i don't need on my macbook. and i also cleaned my Cache.
I went from like 21 GB to 33 GB free of 120 GB.
Later i got an message again. so i'm really wondering if i should upgrade my RAM. its 8 GB 1600 Mhz.
As im a graphic designer i only use adobe programs. i don't got films or anything like that which could be the problem of a lot of disk space.
So i really don't know how this is possible.
    Greetings,
    Lars

    Hey braunfrommr,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with charging your MacBook Pro. The following resource may provide a solution:

  • Trouble Booting up when upgrade to 8GB ram on the Macbook Pro 13 Mid-2010 edition

I have the right specs(two )Size: 4 GB Type: DDR3 Speed: 1067 MHz and it freeze when booting. but when I take one out and put one 4 GB and a 2 GB Ram, it boots and works fine at 6GB, I even change to a different more expensive brand ram and its the same issue, works at 6GB and not 8GB, Can someone help me.

First off make sure, again, that you have the right memory -- 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM. If you do, swap out the the two modules. Place the 2G stick where the 4G was and put the 4G where the 2G was. Check your system RAM. If you do not have 6G then the slot where the 4G stick is is bad. If you have 6G, then swap out the two 4G sticks. If you now do not have 6G then the second 4G stick is bad. If you get 6G then we will try something else.

  • Can I add an SSD to my Macbook Pro 2,2?

I have a 2007 MBP 2,2 with an 120 GB SATA HDD.  Wondering if I can straight swap an SSD for the original hard disc or if I have to buy the bracket that will replace my optical drive?  Thanks.

Yes, you can. No bracket required unless you want to remove the optical and replace it with the old HDD or a new HDD. Visit OWC to find both SSDs and the bracket (DataDoubler.)

  • How can I add my own screensaver? Macbook pro 10.8.2

once upon a time i found a screen saver and i downloaded it, it was cool, i just recently upgraded to mountain lion and for some reason it is way out of alignment and all pushed up to the top of the screen. So I went to the website to see if I could get a newer more up to date copy, I downloaded one but now i have no idea how to add it into the list of them to choose from. Any help would be apreciated, Thanks, Ben D.

It isnt an image, this is where i got it from; http://thecolourclock.co.uk. and there is no folders button in that screen on mountain lion.

  • Add Supported Channels Airport extreme Macbook Pro 15' late 2010

My wireless network at school recently added another router under our classroom. The channel for this connection is channel 13 which is not supported under the default supported channel settings.
I was wondering if there is way to add or change these settings.
    Thank you,
    Danny Dagan
p.s. We are having this problem only with 4 MBP's late 2010 although we have 3 iMac 24's that DO CONNECT TO channel 13.

    Hi Bob,
Thank you for the reply. One thing I forgot to mention is that I am in Israel. I didn't think this would be an issue! Anyway, during this week I was able to find out a little more information about this problem.
Our wifi network at school is "shared" by two routers. The first is in one building about 300 meters away and it is using channel 5, and the second is in our music studio and it is using channel 13. We asked our network administrator at school to either change the name of the second router in our studio or to just change the channel to 1-11. He said that just because we have macs he will not go through the trouble(hater). The iMacs we use in our classroom were bought here in israel, so I am assuming that this is the reason they have channel thirteen and everyone who bought a mac book pro in America does not have channel 13.
    ANYWAY!!
Definately an annoying problem that can be solved in a minuet, but because of some very lazy people it might take a little more effort. Thank you once again for the help, I really appreciate it.
    Thank you,
    Danny Dagan
