Can i allow someone to post onto my iweb site?

I need to create a website for my team but I also need to have things set so another coach can log in and post stats from his own computer. Any way of making this possible in iWeb?

Welcome to the Support Communities. iWeb isn't designed for collaborative editing. An alternative would be to use Weebly to build the site. Weebly is web-based so can be used from a PC or Mac and has a  "collaborative" mode:

  • How can another person on a PC edit an iWeb site?

Can someone edit an iWeb site using a browser or another app? Is there a way to run iWeb on a PC?

    In a word NO.
If you want to do anything like this using a PC, then choose another programme.  DreamWeaver is both PC and Mac compatible, or else you need to use something like an online system such as the content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal or Joomla.

  • How can I prevent downloading of music from an iWeb Site?

Can someone please tell me if it is possible to disable downloading of a video or music from a site created using iWeb?
I am new to this and don't even know what questions to ask, however, I want to create a site where music and/or videos can be heard/viewed but not downloaded from the site.
I have tried to research this and learned that perhaps a program like +iWeb Enhancer+ or +iWeb More+ can help me, but I'm not sure. I think I need to be able to access the code to make some changes. Is this correct? Is it something relatively easy to do?
    Thanks!

The javascript file (.js) is just a text file and you can use any plain text editor to open, edit and save it. The key word is plain text (not rtf).
For QuickTime content iWeb uses the older object/embed tag code so there are two places in the code that require the additional code. The first is in the object tag (used only by Internet Explorer on PC's). They use param (parameter) tag code (name and value).
You would enter param name="kioskmode" value="true" (must include the quote marks) in the object tag area. To keep it simple just set the insertion point before the object code closing tag (/>).
In the embed tag code you would insert kioskmode="true" before the closing embed tag code.
While you're editing this file you may also want to change autoplay="false" to "true" so viewers don't have to click the controller to start playback.
Save the file making sure not to append the .txt extension to the file if using TextEdit.

  • After installing Lion my iSight does not record video or doesn't allow me to post a video on sites like Facebook. Any solutions?

Does it have anything to do with Flash combatibility?

Whenever I record video on like Photobooth it would unexpectedly crash or if I want to record and leave a video on someone's wall on Facebook it doesn't let me allow access to my camera or microphone on the Adobe Flash Player Settings for privacy.

  • 2 Macs, 1 blog site.  How can I use 2 Macs to edit my iWeb site???

I have a Mac at home and my laptop at work. Both have iLife '06 on the and iWeb. I just designed a web site (and uploaded it) using iWeb, and I'd like to add to it from my laptop at work. I brought a pushlised copy with me, but there's no way to load it for iWeb to read it!
Is there somewhere I can copy the site files to on my laptop so when I open iWeb, it recognizes them?
    Help!

You need to transfer this file to whatever machine you want to work from:

  • Can I add a search feature within my iWeb site?

I've created a site with a lot of information on many pages. I'd like other users to be able to search from my site for a topic. Is that possible? Thanks.

As long as your site has been comprehensively indexed by Google you can use a box like the one shown at the bottom of this page...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Search-Engine-Optimization/SEO.html
    Its available from...

Otherwise you need to get complicated and look for other solutions like this...

  • Can't Get Hyperlink To Work From One iWeb Site To Another

I created a "family" website, including a blog page. In a recent blog, I briefly announced that my two nieces just completed a two-week adventure in the African bush. I have created a second website using iWeb which is a simple photo page. I had hoped to hyperlink from my blog entry by saying that anyone interested in seeing the pictures of their trip "click here". I then used the Insert>Hyperlink>Choose dialog to place the URL of the second site as the hyperlink file.
No such luck. When the "click here" hyperlink is clicked in site #1 to navigate to site #2, all one gets is an error message.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Desktop G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I found out what I was doing wrong. In the hyperlink window I was trying to type in the URL for the second website on iWeb. Instead, there are pull down menus to permit the selection of another iWeb page or site as the link. It's working smoothly now.

  • Can I add a downloadable .pdf to an iWeb site?

I would like clients to be able to download a document from my site.  Is this possible?

Yes.  If you want the pdf file to download immediately when the link is selected and not be displayed in the browser, zip/compress the pdf file (Control (right)-Click on the pdf file and select Compress from the contextual menu) and link to it in the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane witn the Link To: A File option.
A second option is to zip the pdf file and upload it manually to your website server.  Then link to it in the same preference pane but use An External Page option. The URL would be http://URL TO FILE ON SERVER/File _Name.pdf.zip

  • Can I globally change the Theme of an iWeb site?

I noticed that when I added a second page to my initial site in iWeb and the theme was different from the existing page. I couldn't determine how to either change the theme of that page to match the first page and/or change all pages to a new theme. It seems that once a theme is selected, you live with it.
iWeb is nice for Pretty and Glitzy but I'm having difficulty generating a new Web to replace the one I maintain on Comcast with FrontPage with my wifes' desktop PC. FrontPage is too slow/kludgy to maintain a Web site using the Virtual Machine. I need a large table for my high school classmates' names and e-mail address(es). The follow-on pages would look beautiful with existing iWeb themes since they are either text or will be photos (when I add them).
I also have a count-down script on the existing page. Apparently, this is not supported on iWeb and .MAC.

Multisim's Spreadsheet View is a great tool to set/change various parameters for multiple components at once.
This is what you need to do in order to assign the same footprint to multiple/all resistors:
Open Spreadsheet View (menu view > Spreadsheet View)
    Select the Components tab
Click on the column header RefDes and click on Sort Ascending (A->Z)
Select all resistors (click on the first resistor press Shift and click on the last resistor in the column)
Scroll to the right an click in any of the select rows in the column Footprint
    The Select Footprint dialog appears.
The footprint you select will be assigned to all selected resistors
Resistors will turn from black (virtual) to blue (real) in your schematic

  • IWeb-How can viewers export/capture photos from my iweb sites?

I am working with iweb 08 and created a website for fellow classmates to view old grade and High school pictures with names and want them to be able to export or capture copies of any photograph from my iWeb site for their own use. I want them to have a good quality photo that can be in a size from 5 x 7 to 8 x 10 inches like the originals.
How can they get copies of photos off my iWeb site??

    Hello Newbe here
Have been playing with iWeb and I believe that it can do what I want it to - however, I have been struggling yo get it to play ball.
I have a load of large images in my idisk-Public folder, however this is a bit cumbersome to navigate and does not offer the user a preview of the image. What I was hoping to do was to create a small website in iWeb and then place some thumbnails on the pages (with some text etc) and then links to the actual files on the iDisk/Public folder. For information there is about 2GB of files (many of which are 300dpi large PSD files at between 25-50MB each). As such, it would be impossible to embed them in the website and, I don't really want to have to upload all 2BG back to iDisk again in order to get links in the iWeb directory to work.
I was hoping that I could use the hyperlink to a file - but this does not seem to work and it just seems to embed the file into the website. If I go to iDisk/Public and try and point the hyperlink at a specific file - then it seems that everything in the public folder has the same web address (I have a number of sub-folders in the Public directory).
So just for total clarity - what I am trying to do is generate a website in iWeb, place a small JPG or PNG file (thumbnail) and then provide a number of links to a source file either as part of the thumbnail image or with some text next to the image (where the file is available in a number of formats - e.g. PSD, EPS, TIF, etc).
I hope that this makes sense and that someone out there knows how to solve this issue and is kind enough to point me in the right direction - before I pull all of my hair out.
    Thanks in anticipation.......

  • How can i import quizzes made on keynote to iweb with hyperlinks active?

I have made some quizzes on keynote using hyperlinks, but cannot find a way to import them onto my iWeb site with the hyperlinks still active. I've exported the quizzes to html and they work fine, but I can't import them onto an iWeb page. I even tried to use the old .Mac HomePage, but this didn't work either... Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!!

If you exported the Keynote to HTML then you have a HTML page and a folder with images.
Nothing you can do with in iWeb.
You can store the stuff on the webserver and make a link to it in iWeb.
Or you can embed the page with a [IFRAME element|http://htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/special/iframe.html] in the HTML Snippet (see image). I use OBJECT to annoy MSIE users.
    Other options are Flash, QT.

  • How can I allow a customer to upload an image to be stuck onto a mug or t-shirt and then view what it would look like on that mug or t-shirt?

How can I allow a customer to upload an image to be stuck onto a mug or t-shirt and then view what it would look like on that mug or t-shirt?

In the absence of drivers, a rather nasty way to achieve this would be to ensure that your software always occupies the same portion of the screen such that you know the position of the 'sample' button. You could then simulate a mouse click at those coordinates when you require a sample to be taken.
This would not be a robust solution as a user could move or minimise the window, or other windows could also find their way into the critical position and cause the application to work incorrectly or cause unexpected things to happen.
However, if you just need a short term work around this method might be acceptable, just be aware of the risks if you try it.
Searching for simulate mouse clicks and having a play is the way forward.
As an example of simulating a mouse click in a certain position, have a look here:

Hi, Im trying to convert a PDF into a weblink that I can post onto social media  but dont know how, can you help please?

You need to upload it to some kind of public server, or file-sharing site (like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), and then post the link to it.

  • Can someone please post a working bcdedit /enum ALL /v

I've been attempting to pull off the elusive triple boot and screwed up the BCD on my Windows 8.1 install.  I can't seem to mount the EFI partition in the recovery console, so I can't perform any of the bcd*.exe fixes.  I'm going to need to fix this offline.  My strategy is to mount the EFI partition in OSX, copy the BCD file to a flash drive, modify it from Windows recovery console, boot back into OSX, replace the original, reboot, cross fingers, repeat.
Can someone please post the output of the following command in Windows?
    bcdedit /enum ALL /v

Alternatively, can someone please grab their bcd file and share it?  I'm kind of in a jam here.  From the Mac side, you can do this:
    sudo mkdir /Volumes/efi
    sudo mount -t msdos /dev/disk0s1 /Volumes/efi
BCD file is in or around /Volumes/efi/EFI/Microsoft
I'm mostly concerned with the device and osdevice entries, as mine are showing up as 'Unknown'.
