Can I anchor the new mini-player to one screen while keeping iTunes in another on iTunes 11?

I like having my main iTunes window on another screen while I'm browsing so that it doesn't distract me when I'm working. But I like the new mini-player & I ilke the fact that it notifies which song is playing each time it skips to the next one. So what I'd like is to keep the mini-player anchored to one screen (on Mountan Lion) while keeping the main iTunes window or the album artwork window in another one where I only need to go when I want to interact with iTunes in more detail.
This way I can keep the mini-player tucked away in one corner while I browse & I have quick access to the controls & the song info if I need it without having the full screen there. I know that I don't need to have the main iTunes window open all the time & I can simply Option-Command-M to toggle between the 2. But I'd like to have (if possible) the main window open as well on another screen. I have dragged only the mini-player to another screen but iTunes is anchored to the other one (via the dock options) so when I restart iTunes, both players (main & mini) open in the 2nd (non-browser) screen by default.

Thanks for the replies. The only problem with this solution is that any time I restart iTunes, it'll revert back to normal settings and both will pop up on the same desktop. As opposed to when you anchor it to a particluar desktop so that it open there not matter where you are when you launch the software.
I realise as I nitpick over this that may not be a very important issue at all But I just hoped there might be a solution to it. Thanks anyway.

  • What happened to zoom option? The new Mini Player

I mean why change things and don't tell you. And if it was Working why fix it!!! So now it requires two hands to minimize and expand the mini player? It was easy before one hand with controlcommandZ now it requires commandshiftM. How annoying!!! Does anybody else feels my pain or am i the only one we actually misses this. Like the AMAZING tabs in Safari 4 Beta.
AND is there a way to change it back to the ZOOM command option?
    Any answers are most welcome!!!!!!
My mac is a 13 Inch. So any Screen Real Estate space is valuable thats why I need the mini player AND since the Safari Beta edition I do not use the tabs. It also steals space from my screen those 4 millimeters are precious. I mean multiple windows with multiple tabs.

lol. i wonder why apple did this again! i think they secretly like to see threads pop up about it.
this happened back when we hit 9.0; i'm putting my feedback in, but LAWDAMERCY apple needs to stick to ctrlcmdz and just shut their mouths about it already. srsly, if anyone needs a full screen itunes windie (AND a shortcut for it to boot), you needs to gtfo. sry.

We are aware that some users have trouble with the Adobe Download Manager.   We're working on it, but don't know that we'll have a fast solution. For those users we have an alternate download in technote 19166..  basically the same solution as in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51258.html.
So, if you have trouble with the ADM, use
Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player installation for Windows
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
About halfway down is a set of downloads for Flash Player installation.

  • I can't get the new flash player 11 to work?

I am using windows xp pro and ie. I cannot get some of the games in Gamesville to work nor is the video working. I have removed and reinstalled several times now and I have done all that I could find on the flash webpage to fix the problem and nothing has worked. HELP!!

Note that FlashPlayer works with both Internet Explorer and other browsers such as Firefox, the plugins required though are different. If you use '''I'''nternet '''E'''xplorer and Firefox you have to install both types of plugin, you possibly have so far only installed the type used by IE.
    * see [[how do I install the flash plugin?]]
You should be using Firefox 7.0.1, Firefox 6 is no longer supported or secure.

  • Can the 30" monitor run on the new mini?

Can the 30" monitor run on the new mini and is the new mini more powerful/faster than my current original 20" iMac intel duo?
Thanks in advance for everyone's feedback!
PS. I know the 30" is due for a refresh and would wait....

You would need the mini-DVI to Dual-Link DVI adapter, but the 30" would work with that up to it's maximum 2560x1600 resolution.
However, while the new mini will be a little faster than your existing 20" iMac (assuming by 'original' you mean the 2.0GHz 'early 2006' model), it's not going to offer you a significant performance boost. The mini would offer you greater maximum RAM (4Gb instead of your current 2Gb limit) and has a significantly faster bus and greater L2 cache, and it has 11n wifi rather than your existing 11g, plus a number of other minor enhancements, but you need to consider whether the benefits in terms of better performance and greater flexibility of buying this system, and the display to go with it, are sufficient to justify the costs.
Much may depend on which software you are using, or plan to use. If you are habitually running legacy software which needs Rosetta, and often need more than one such application open at a time, your maximum of 2Gb RAM may be limiting system performance overall by quite a bit. A mini could help significantly simply by allowing you more RAM. Alternatively, if you are running little more than basic and common applications such as web browsers, email, etc, and have just 1Gb RAM, you might find that a better investment would be to increase the RAM in your iMac to 2Gb, and keep using that for a while longer - perhaps while you decide exactly what your future needs are going to be and thus which hardware is best suited to meet them.
Alternatively, if you are just feeling that it's time for the iMac to retire and you want a new system, the new mini looks to be a very credible choice for a wide range of users - and pretty good value too!

  • I am using an Mac PPC version 10.5.8 and I am trying to download the correct version of Flash Player.  I did once but I had to install a "Clean Install" of my computer and when finished I had put back the new Flash Player I just installed well every time

I am using an Mac PPC version 10.5.8 and I am trying to download the correct version of Flash Player.  I did once but I had to install a "Clean Install" of my computer and when finished I had put back the new Flash Player I just installed well every time I try install the new player it is place in my Trash Folder and I can not get Player to work.  I did everything I was to install it correctly but it still does not install it correctly.  Can some help me.  Bob

Some MacBook Pro versions cannot be upgraded past 10.6.8; others are maxed out at 10.7.5. newer models can go all the way to 10.10. So it is important to know exactly what version you have--there may be close to 40 variants produced since the MB made its debut in 2006.
You can safely give us a snapshot of your model and its current config that will allow us to deternmmine your model and its upgrade potential, plus show it you have any software that may impede any upgrades. Please download and install this free utility:
    http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck
It is secure and written by one of our most valued members to allow users to show details of their computer's configuration in Apple Support Communities without revealing any sensitive personal data.
Run the program and click the "Copy report to clipboard" button when it displays the results. Then return here and paste the report into a response to your initial post. It can often show if any harmful files/programs are dragging down your performance.
Remember that, on leaving OS10.6.8, you lose the ability to run older softare written for older PowerPC Macs (yours in Intel-based). Programs such as Office 2004 will no longer work (min of Office 2008 needed to work on newer OS versions), and AppleWorks will stop working completely

Yes, you can use the 85 watt adaptor. You cannot use the new adaptors because your computer is not equipped with the proper MagSafe connector. But you can use the older MBP adaptors as well as a 60 watt replacement adaptor. All can be found at Apple's Online Store.

  • With the latest FF update I can't load the New York Times

I updated FF and Flash Player today and now I can't load the New York Times - all I get is a page with links. Other sites are loading OK. I've tried changing the security.mixed_content.block_active_content to false and that didn't help.
I've got FF 36:0 and I use Windows. Does anybody know whether this is a FF problem and if there's a solution?

  • Does the new Mini support DVI DL?

I may have missed this question, but:
The new Mini has a Mini DVI port; does the Mini support DVI DL?
    Pete F

The only way the new mini can support a DL-DVI display is through the Mini DisplayPort using the $99 Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-link DVI Adapter. The actual DVI port on the mini is single-link only.

  • The New Flash Player Is Downloading Flash 9.0

I have downloaded Flash Player 10.1 & the link is downloading 9.0. Why hasn't anyone fixed this problem in the link?

The answer is actually Yes & No... The new Flash Player works on FireFox. It, however does NOT work with Windows. I am not apposed to using FireFox. I just don't understand why they couldn't fix the problem with Windows.
So in summery, I will use FireFox.
That is all I can help with.
