Can I ask att to unlock my phone after my contract it's over?

So I had the iPhone 4 locked with att with a 2 year contract, now I upgraded to the iPhone 4s with a new contract, meaning that my old contract it's over. So, can I unlock my old iPhone without any need of third party softwares?

The phone will work with H2O Wireless. Just get a H2O SIM card off eBay for a buck and activate it on their website. It will work in the phone without unlocking or jailbreaking. I'm using my 4S through them via a Minute Plan--no contract.

Back it up and restore it in iTunes on the last computer it was synced with, as explained at the bottom of this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212. This will remove the passcode.

You mean lock and home key right? I have the same problem with my 4th gen iPod touch. Seems as though if I hold the buttons again a 2nd time, the iPod automatically restarts as it loads the apple screen that appears when you turn on the iPod/iPhone but I can't get the iPod to stay turned off.

If you placed it in lost mode to lock it, sign into icloud.com, click on lost mode and turn it off. If it is locked with Activation lock you'll have to provide the password for the iCloud ID you are being prompted for in order to use it.

I am moving for a ob to different country that also have iPhones and I was wondering whether it is possible to LEGALLY unlock my iPhone after the contract it over so I can use it with other operator in other country. Any details, like procedure, prices and everything would be apprecieated.

Not sure if you can. It's down to the carrier in your country as to whether they feel like it or not.

I am having dilemma after reformatting my iPhone 5 and I can't get through the re-activation page. It requires me to log-in using my old apple ID which I abandoned 2 years ago after it was been hacked. Apparently, I was able to retrieve my old Apple ID and iCloud, however, the purchased items, downloaded apps, the linked device ("find my iphone app" to link) and other information were wiped out. I reset the password several times to see whether it helps, but still shows error message "Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this phone".
Any advices and help to get through?

Also I have not done anything to the phone ever since I bought it, so I assume that it's locked?

Can't unlock my phone after changing to longer password

My company has requested that we move to a longer password on our phones. So I went into my settings and changed from using "simple" password (4 digits). It came up with a keypad and I entered a new 6 digit password instead. I decided to keep using numbers and not any letters. Now when I try to unlock my phone, the old numeric keypad shows up. I enter the 6 digits and nothing. The old 4 digits don't work either. If I keep trying, the company will wipe my phone. What can I do? I do have a recent backup, so maybe restore is my only option?
I am currently running iOS 7 on an iPhone 4s.

Nevermind... I didn't realize I had to hit OK after entering my password. I was so used to the 4 digit code that doesn't require OK.

PLEASE HELP!! Last night my boyfriend asked me to sync his phone as he had purchased a new app and it was required to connect to iTunes to finish installing, so we did this, it took forever!! It also prompted us to upgrade to iOS5, which we did, the sync finished and he unplugged his phone and all of the contacts and apps from my iPhone have moved onto his phone and his apps have disappeared? Is there anyway at all to rectify this at all? I know that w had to restore the phone after upgrading to iOS5 but I am sure that I hit restore from partners phone and not from mine.

iPhones can only be sync'd to ONE computer.
And as it was not running iOS5, it had to have been sync to a computer before he could use it.
So unless it was always backup up to your computer, it is all gone.
You can redownload apps you bought.
Sign into his account on the iphone, and go to appstore.
Go to Updates page,
you can click on purchased and see what you already bought, and can redownload.
In future you should only sync your iphone to one computer.
In iOS5 you can backup online to icloud.
But sadly the data that was on his phone may be gone now that you updated on your computer.
Out of interest, I have never had an app that needs to sync to a computer before it downloads or runs.

Unlocking a phone after 2 year contract?

Just finished 2 years on my latest contract, this is my 2nd 2 year contract with at&t and I am officially never going to use AT&T again..problem is now i'm stuck with an iphone that's the equivalent to an itouch just with an antenna. I've since switched over to another carrier but wanted to bring Iphone 4 along with me but since the phone is carrier locked i'm stuck and even through the usual unlocking channels (unauthorized) I can't due to the baseband update for 5.0.1 I know the phone is locked to AT&T and all but should we as consumers not get an option to carrier unlock once our contracts are up? I mean seriously otherwise there's no point to even buying an iphone in the first place if you'll just continue to be stuck with at&t's inferior service. I'm in the U.S. and I know if I were in the uk I could pay to have it unlocked legally..why can't we get this here in the states? Had I purchased this phone unlocked in the first place I could justify the cost of the phone at it's unlocked price with the savings my new carrier offers, but with at&t my bill is twice as much and my phone is a slave to their service exclusively..it's like buying an xbox that once you xbox live contract is up you can't use anymore..apple got their money I don't understand the issue with allowing us to unrestrict our phones once we've served our jail sentence (that's how bad my service with at&t has been).

AT&T will not unlock your phone for any reason. There is no law or regulation requiring them to do so. If you're unhappy about it, call your congressman.

I can no longer add music to my phone after using tones

I got a new iPhone 5C and I am trying to make tones for it. I used an app to make a tone and when I enable Synching Tones All Tones I can no longer add music to my phone through iTunes. When I try to drag and drop a music file the icon has a red circle with a line through it.

We are all fellow users and not Apple employees so cannot do anything like unlock an iPhone for you.
Was your iPhone unlocked before the iOS update? If not, you must deal with your cellular service provider to unlock the iPhone, only the carrier can do an unlocking.
If the iPhone was unlocked and got locked in the update process, take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar where they can check the IMEI number against those that have been unlocked. They can then deal with the unlocking.

Yes you can sync the apps from the PC to the iPad - as long as the apps are in your iTunes library.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on all of the apps in the apps list that you want to sync..
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If the apps are not in iTunes, you have to find someway to download them again. But you do need to be connected to the Internet in order to do that.
You can download the apps in iTunes on the PC if the PC is connected to the Internet and then sync them to the iPad. You will be able to download them again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID.
