Can I assign an easier keyboard shortcut to Export than ctrl+shift+alt+E ?

Can I do this?

That keystroke is "Export with Previous" - Export is "only" Ctrl+Shift+E.
Yes you're right but it's not what I do, once I've set up the quality and the output folder I just want to work on a file, get it right and export it then move on to the next
Is there no way of altering or adding a different shortcut? The Ctrl+Shift+E still requires another step which is incongrous and for me requires two hands!

  • How can I get the Voiceover Keyboard shortcuts to show up in a form in which I can copy

I have low vision & have been trying to learn to use Voiceover on both my iPhone & my Mac mini for months. Very frustrating.
    1. How can I get the Voiceover keyboard shortcut commans to show up in a form in which I can copy & paste them into a pages document so I can print it out & use for quick reference?? The one that shows up when I press VO +HH won't let me copy & paste it, & it won't show up in the Help section no matter what subject I enter. The help topics shown do not correlate with the topics I'm entering. why is that??
    2. Please make the cursor able to be wider, like in the software program Zoomtext, that I used when I had a PC. The razor-thin cursor (in this text box!) in Pages is impossible for me to see.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

You should be able to copy them from there.

You can also check in System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts, make sure that custom shortcuts were not created using those same commands. If ones were, they could be creating a conflict. Step throuogh each of the items in the left list, checking the array presented in the right pane for each.

  • Where can I find the Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E in the keyboard shortcuts panel?

I accidentally mapped my Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E (merge all visible to a new layer) shortcut to another one, and I can't find where the original function was in the Keyboard Shortcuts panel. Does anyone know where I can find the original function so I can remap it? I have a lot of custom shortcuts and I don't want to switch back to Photoshop defaults.

I suspect the shift-key is just a qualifier and the original shortcut should be under Panel Menus > Layers > Merge Visible

Why does the keyboard shortcut on the bookmarks ctrl end and ctrl home to go up and down the bookmarks only work "sometimes"

Is the problem on the Bookmarks menu, on the Bookmarks drop-down list (from one of your toolbars), in the Bookmarks sidebar, or in the Library dialog used to organize bookmarks?
Do Home and End (without the Ctrl key) work any better/differently?

  • How can a click box support CTRL/SHIFT/ALT in Captivate?

    Hi all,
How can a click box support CTRL/SHIFT/ALT in Captivate ?
i.e., It can support click, double click, and right click, can it support "CTRL/SHIFT/ALT" when clicking?
I need this feature because some user operation requires this.
        We're using Captivate 5.
Could anybody give me some suggestion?  Tahnks.
    Joseph

Although you can add Ctrl, Alt and Shift shortcuts to click boxes, they may or may not work, depending on the context where the presentation is running.
The following comments relate to Captivate 5 presentations.
If you publish the presentation as an exe file, Shift and Ctrl click boxes will work, but not Alt click boxes. Right-clicks won't be detected, either.
If you publish as htm + swf for viewing in a browser, you can avoid the right-click problem, but which  shortcuts get detected depends on which browser is being used.
I have tested Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari, with the following results:
Alt: No browser passes Alt shortcuts through to the Flash player. If the Alt shortcut is meaningful to the browser itself, that's what happens (e.g., Alt+T will display the Tools menu in Internet Explorer; otherwise nothing happens). Note: Alt click boxes work when you test the presentation in an F8 preview window, but they don't work when the presentation has been published, so the F8 preview is misleading.
Ctrl: All except Internet Explorer pass all Ctrl shortcuts to the Flash Player, so they are generally safe to use if you can ensure the user will not view the presentation in IE. IE keeps most Ctrl shortcuts for itself, but there are a few (e.g., Ctrl+G) that IE passes to Flash, so you can use Ctrl+G freely, knowing it will work in every browser. Ctrl+M and Ctrl+U are two others
Shift: All, including Internet Explorer pass Shift shortcuts to the Flash Player. I have sometimes therefore set up a simulation with click boxes that look for a Shift+ shortcut key instead of Alt+, and included an apologetic prompt to tell the user to do so.
It's a mess! It is essential to test your simulation in whatever environments it will be used in, and adapt it if some shortcut you really want to use doesn't work.

It's a new machine - and the Thunderbolt Display is meant to work with it. You need to just make an appointment at your local Apple Store and have them fix whatever is wrong.
If you like, you could always try a SMC reset and a PRAM/NVRAM reset to see if either of those will get your keyboard back in working order...

  • Assigning a new keyboard shortcut that isn't default

In CS4, I'd like to to assign a keyboard shortcut to the
"Smooth" tool (which comes up when you click pointer.) How can I do
this? When I click on Tools Panel in the Keyboard Shortcut menu, it
isn't an option and it also isn't listed in the Customize Tools
menu. I figuring, if I replace one of the available tools with the
smooth tool (again, not the one associated with pencil, but the one
that appears when you click pointer), I can do it. But how can I
replace or add to the available tools?
    I'm using a mac, tiger 10.11.4
    Thanks

Sorry for such a slow response.  I've been up to my eyeballs in work recently! (not a bad thing).  Thanks Ronin for your help.  I did have a look at that link and there is some useful stuff there.
As it turns out I solved the problem another way.  All I had to do was clear my synced settings and then re-sync!! can you believe that!  Now when I select keyboard shortcuts from the menu the window pops up and I can customize away.  Before, nothing happened when I selected keyboard shortcuts from the drop down menu!
Maybe it's a weird solo bug that only happened to me, I hope no one else suffers this infuriating thing!
    Cheers

  • Why can't I create a keyboard shortcut?

I created an Automator Service to restart my computer in Bootcamp (since I was getting very tired of having to navigate to the Startup Disk Prefence pane every time).  What I would like to do, is make this service have a global keyboard shortcut.  However, when I try to set one in the Keyboard Shorcuts preferences (i.e. double-clicking and holding down the desired keys), my computer just beeps at me.  What am I missing?  As far as I can tell, I'm doing what it's telling me to do.
I thought maybe it was not allowing the specific shortcut I was trying - thinking maybe it was already in use.  So I tried many other key combinations - enough to come to the conclusion that this was not the issue.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

click the right hand side of the window (where other commands are shown) not the name of the command, it won't work. If you already have the shortcut assigned it'll tell you that it's a duplicate and tell you where you use the shortcut again.
    Good luck!.

  • Assigning F13-F19 keyboard shortcuts

Is there a way to assign F13 through F19 to a menu item, without having to resort to third party applications such as Quicksilver? I am trying to make it so I can lock my screen by simply pressing F19 (no modifiers).
When I try to do this through Keyboard Shortcuts all seems to go well (it pretends to accept my keyboard binding instructions) but when I press the newly bound key, I get a system beep and no screen saver.

you can do it but it requires some work and it will be quicker with a 3rd party launcher like Qucksilver or Butler. why don't you want to use them? but if you want to do it without 3rd party software you can create a service using automator and assign a keyboard combo to that service in keyboard system preferences->keyboard shortcuts->services. note however, that some people (myself included) found it impossible to use Fkeys for services shortcuts while it seemms to work for the others. i don't know what's the deal here is. you might want to check if you can assign F-keys as services shortcuts before you embark on this adventure. don't know how to lock screen via a shortcut though. best I know how to do is set screensaver to require password on wake in security system preferences. then you can activate screensaver by a shortcut or better yet using a hot corner. that's by far the easiest way to do this.

  • How can I create a new keyboard shortcut to toggle load images automatically preferrably with one action?

I switch the load images automatically selection back and forth in order to save on my 5GB monthly data plan. Is there a utility that would allow me to create a macro of multiple keystrokes to do this with one action? Something like the macro function in Excel? Or is there another way to do this more easily than going to tools, options and clicking on the box? I don't see a shortcut for this item in the standard keyboard shortcuts list

    Hi,
You could try [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-block/?src=search Image Block]. Please also go through the reviews, help and ratings. You can also try to search for similar add-ons via Firefox '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''', Search box on the top right corner, or via the official [https://addons.mozilla.org/ AMO].

  • How can I create a keyboard shortcut to export to pdf in Pages for Mac

Can anyone explain how to create a keyboard shortcut that works in pages?

Reluctant as I am to contradict Viking OS X, yes it is possible.
This is for Yosemite, it is slightly different in other versions of OS X.
Menu > Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts > + > Applications > Pages > Menu Title: PDF… > Keyboard Shortcut > hold down whatever combination you want > Add
As Viking says this won't choose Good, Better, Best but at least it gets you to that point. Unfortunately it always defaults to Good.
NB that PDF… has to be typed with ALL CAPS and the ellipsis is option ; or copy from here. It has to be literally what is in the menu.
You could make a more intelligent keyboard shortcut with 3rd party Apps like Spark [free] or QuicKeys or iKey or Shortcuts for Mac or Keyboard Maestro.

  • How can I set up a keyboard shortcut for 'Remove Tween' in Flash Pro CC 2014?

I'm trying to set this up, as I have in previous versions of Flash, but the 'Remove Tween' command (among other commands) is not available in the Keyboard Shortcut window.
Is there some other way to add this shortcut?
    Thanks,
    George

I don't think this had a keyboard shortcut even before (checked in CS6). There's an alternative though.
    1. Create a JSFL file with following code and save it in the commands folder as 'Remove Tween'.
         fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().setFrameProperty('tweenType', 'none');
    2. Now goto Edit Menu > Keyboard Shortcuts..
    3. Search for 'Remove Tween' and assign a keyboard shortcut to it.
Now everytime you press the assigned key - jsfl script is executed which essentially removes the tween from selected frame. (works for Classic and Shape tween but not Motion Tweens)

  • Can't seem to create keyboard shortcuts

I have just purchased a Mac mini and am brand new to Apple so I presume I am running 10.6.2 but if more info is required you may need to direct me a little. My old PC died and I was sold the Mac mini as a drop-in replacement that could use my new screen / keyboard.
I am unable to work out how to create a keyboard shortcut e.g., to associate the 'Home' key with 'Go to beginning of line.' I can get into System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Keyboard & Text Input OK. Clicking on the plus sign (Add an application shortcut) beneath the lists brings down the sub-panel with Application | Menu Title | Keyboard Shortcut OK.
The problem is that I can only enter keys from the numeric keypad and arrow key cluster in the Keyboard Shortcut field, but nothing from the main section of the keyboard or the Ins / Del / Home / End / PgUp / PgDn cluster. Not letters, or numbers, or any other keystrokes that I can tell. I just get the system bell.
It is a new Logitech keyboard which I set to US International layout as I work with accented character sets. Any assistance appreciated.

You wouldn't be able to define that specific shortcut anyway. Try using Control-B (Off the top of my head; this page has a full list of them) to move to the beginning of a textfield / line.
