Can I attach a scanned document to a comment?

I am trying to add a scanned receipt to a comment.  Don't want to see it when printing.

Comments are discussed on Page 86 of the Numbers '09 User Guide (which may be downloaded through the Help menu in Numbers). There's no mention of the possibility of including objects of any sort in a comment box.
Checking the possibility by trying to paste a shape into a comment showed this to be not possible. The shape (and another graphic object which I attempted to drag into the comment space) both became objects on the Sheet, not in the comment space.
I also checked changing the Fill to an Image fill, but neither the color well in the format bar nor the Fill section of the Graphic Inspector allowed changes other than Opacity to the set fill colour.
Regards,
Barry

  • If I attach a scanned document to a mail, it's impossible for the persons receiving my mail to open the file

I'm a MacBook Pro user and scanning documents with an hp Officejet 7500A.
If I send a mail with an attached file, SCANNED document, the person receiving my mail will be totaly unable to open it.
If I send the very same mail, always with my Mac computer and attaching the very same scanned document but using my professional mailbox wich is NO MAC MAIL, things are working perfectly well.mail.
    Thanks for your help,
    Ph.

Try right clicking the file on your desktop, and compressing it, then send it to the intended recepient. Of course you will want to advise them to extract the document from the *.zip file afterwards. A ZIP file is sort of like a briefcase for other data, you put it inside and send that fully intact for the other person to open. Good luck, let me know if it fails.

  • Canon Printer MG5420. How can I save a scanned document in the Word format?

I can only find the option to save scanned documents in the PDF format. I want to know if there is a way to save in Word. Can anyone help me? Canon Printer MXZ5420.

    Hello Yvonne.
Specialized OCR software may be needed in order to save files directly to Microsoft Word format.  Our software does not have this capability.
If you are attempting to scan a basic, text-only document.  You can use our IJ Scan Utility to scan and make adjustments.
     1.  Start, point to (All) Programs, Canon Utilities and then open the Canon IJ Scan Utility.
     2.  Click 'Settings' on the lower right corner.
     3.  Click 'Document Scan' on the left.
     4.  Under 'Application Settings' on the right, select 'Start (OCR)' and choose 'Canon My Image Garden' in the menu.
     5.  Click OK.
     6.  In the IJ Scan Utility, click 'Document'.
When scanning is completed, Notepad will open and you will be able to edit and save your document.

    Hello Amit,
I am not able to understand your requirement correctly. Are you trying to attach the Document as a Attachment to the Interaction record (or) trying to attach it as a Archive Link Document??
If you could give me more info.. I think I will be able to assist you with this as I have worked in this area...
    Cheers..

  • How can I save a scanned document after updating to Mavericks?

Since updating to mavericks on my IMAC, I can not save a scan using my HP photo smart 3180 scanner.  I get an error message: the file could not be written to. Check properties for the file to make sure it in not in read-only.  I had no problem saving scanned documents before the update.

Not true, Image Capture can Save in PDF Format
and to anywhere you like, including Preview which can handle multiple PDF doc's.
If you do not like or do not wish to spend a little time figuring out Image Capture, then try scanning with Preview like HP is suggesting in the link that baltwo posted.

  • I can't open my scan documents in my pc HP

after I scan documents I can't open in my pc HP 110-220 I can see the document in my screen but the system doesn't open

What type of file is it, right click the document then Properties.  Look at the file type, what does it say?
As an example, if it was scanned as a .pdf document you must have Adobe Reader installed in your computer to open it.

  • I can't attach a Page document

I know that maybe my questions is a little stupid, but I saved a document in my desktop, and when I try to attach it in an email through my hotmail or Yahoo account I can't select it. I can only select it if I save the document as a word document. Why I can't send it as a Page document?
    Thank you very much

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
A Pages document is actually a package, a special kind of folder that appears as a single file, but isn't. You can't e-mail a folder which is why many mail clients balk. Apple Mail will automatically zip a folder, other e-mail clients don't, especially web-based e-mail. In the Finder, Control- or right-click on the Pages document & choose Create Archive… (Tiger) or Compress… (Leopard) from the contextual menu. You will now have a zipped Pages document that you can attach to your e-mail & send.
Your recipient must have Pages to be able to open your Pages file. If s/he doesn't, you can export the Pages document as Word or PDF & send that.

  • Can I re-scale scanned documents in Acrobat Pro (can't print drawings to correct scale)

I have several scanned drawings of my house (originals is pre-CAD) that when printed instead of e.g. 1:400 is 1:330 and 1:100 is 1:130 and similar. This "odd" scale is ok for me personally but not the people at the building inspection department that need to approve the small updates I've done.
So it would be good to be able to say in a document that this distance should be Xmm when printed.
The method I'm using now is to use custom scale when printing e.g. choose 87% instead of 100% but this method is very paper and time consuming for several drawings with slightly different scale problems. And I would like to correct this in these pdf-drawings so I don't have to bother with this in the future.
Is there a way to handle this?
Edit: Using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

  • How can I search a PDF document for annotations/comments

I have a long 50+ page pdf document with many annotations and commnets.  How can I search this document to find each comment?

    Locating and Searching Comment annotations.
From the open Comments List you can sort and filter comments.
This is discussed in Acrobat X Pro's online Help:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7e42.w.h tml
A sorted / filtered list can be used to generate a PDF comment summary report.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS75E00763-F15A-43a1-85B7-51B920B1181A.w.htm l
You could then use Find on the output summary report.
Using Acrobat X Pro you can embed an index in the PDF.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WSC28D4DBB-6A78-4027-9E04-F50FE411CFB9.w.htm l
Then use the Search tool. With the Search pane open tick "Include Comments".
Search returns have an icon at the left of each instance.
This portion of Acrobat X Pro's online Help shows and describes these.
The third up from the list's bottom is the Comments icon.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WSC28D4DBB-6A78-4027-9E04-F50FE411CFB9.w.htm l
One of these or combinations may met your needs.
    Be well...
