Can I auto forward sms/text messages to another phone?

I find myself in the unenviable position of carrying two phones and I need to have my main phone (iPhone 4) forward sms/text messages to my other phone (Samsung Infuse).
After tinkering with the various setting on the phone, and trying to Google it for the past couple of days I haven't been able to find ANYTHING!
If anyone knows of any apps, settings, tips, tricks, or work arounds I would really appreciate it!
Thanks,
GBA

Take a look at Google Voice. I use it so I don't have to carry 2 phones. One personal, one for work.
It gives you a new number that you can direct to ring multiple phones simultaneously if you like. It will also handle text messages and forward them for you.
Even if you're only going to carry one phone, this gives you a # you can have other people call without having to give them your personal #.
There are other neat tricks you can pull with this. For example, it can display your GV # in the caller ID for incoming calls instead of the actual callers #. If you have a plan that gives you unlimited calling to specific #s, that means all those calls can be free if you add it to your friends/family/Alist/whatever they call it now.
You can also set time restrictions so that it will only forward calls/messages during certain hours or to different phones at different times. When I'm working or on call, I get calls from the office. If I'm not, they won't ring through (they want me on call, they can pay me for it. lol)
I don't know if it will be helpful for you, but it might be.  The service is free with cheap international calling rates.

  • How to auto forward sms texts from iphone to iphone?

I just got the new iphone 5 for work... which is great, but it means that I will be carrying around my personal iphone 4 and the new iphone.  I would like to get this down to just one iphone, so can I auto forward my texts from iphone to iphone?  Is there an app for that... and, if so, what is it?
    Thanks!

Not sure if Google Voice will do that or if one of the TextFree apps will...but you can check those out and see if they meet your needs.

With the new OS X Yosemite operating system, yes you can. It can send and receive them. With Yosemite and IOS 8.1 (released today) you can send and receive them from your iPad as well.

It seems like I saw that the new operating system would allow auto-forwarding of SMS messages from one phone to another, I would prefer not to jailbreak the phone. TIA for your replies.

  • How can I transfer my saved text messages from one phone to another?

I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 and recently it began malfunctioning, so I have been sent a replacement of the same model. My problem is that I can transfer things like photos and contacts easily enough but I want to know if there's a way of keeping the text messages that I'd saved on the previous phone and putting them on the new one, any ideas?

  • Why do SMS text messages sent to my iPhone while its powered off fail to arrive when I switch it back on?

Normally if someone sends you a SMS text message when your phone is switched off the message will be delivered to you when you switch the phone back on.
My iPhone 4 running iOS7 doesn't do this.
If someone sends me a SMS text message while the phone is off it permanently disappears.  When I turn my phone on the message never arrives.
The problem has been identified when the person sending the text is using another iPhone, an Android phone, a Blackberry or an old Nokia handset.
The problem is repeatable 100% of the time.
If my phone is switched on it receives texts ok.
If I put my SIM card in another iPhone it works fine.
Anyone know why this is happening?

Same problem there. That turning off 3G fix didn't work for me.
It appears to be a fault with IoS 7 and iPhone 4.

  • I have downloaded ios7 and a little while later I cannot send a text message to another iphone

I recently downloaded ios7 and then the second download and after a couple of days I can no longer send a text message to another iphone

If it was not sent, it is possible that you prevented it from being sent. However, if it made it to the Apple server before it tried sending as a SMS, it is very possible it still could be sent. In my opinion, I would say no.

  • Is it possible for sms text messages to be forwarded from one iPhone to another

Hi I'm looking for a bit of help please? Is it possible for sms text messages to be forwarded from one iPhone to another without the use of such app as mysms or google voice as neither of these seem to work. Apple sugested that my network provider can usually assist in such maters with a few simple setting there end. Does anyone have previous experience in these matters. Thanks Matt.

Do you mean forward them automatically?
As you can manually forward any SMS or iMessage to any number you want directly from the iOS Messages app.

  • Can not send SMS text message.

Hi, I'm a BlackBerry user for 4 years now and this is the first time that I have a problem with SMS text messaging. My precious BB is a Q10.
The problem is that I can receive SMS messages but I can not answer and I can not send messages. When I tap the 'send' icon or press Enter nothing happens. My message dissapears and i can not see in the upper window, below the message that I've previously receive and I wanted to aswer for.
Also, I can compose SMS message, but when I press Enter or tap send, nothing happens. No message in the hub, or in the text messages folder.
I've rebooted the device, reloaded the OS, but didn't help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • How can I turn off the home screen preview of SMS/text messages on 3GS

How can I turn off the home screen preview of SMS/text messages on my new Iphone 3GS ?

Go to Settings>Messages and choose "No" under "Show Preview" which will hide the text part of the SMS/text message but still will pop up on who its from and just says "text message" on it.
Other than this there is not a complete way to disable the notification.

  • 2013 Honda Civic Si, SMS Text Message Function says "Unsupported Device" when trying to use this feature with iPhone 5. Can anyone help with this?

In my 2013 Honda Civic Si, I'm trying to use the SMS Text Message Function, but keep getting the error message, "Unsupported Device".
I use an iPhone 5 with latest iOS 6.1.4.
HandsFreeLink works perfectly fine with my iPhone for voice calls and for streaming Bluetooth Audio. Does text messaging not work because of iMessage? Does anyone have any suggestions for this issue?
    Thanks in advance!

In looking for a 2013 Honda Civic (LX model, no Navi), the text feature was very interesting and important to me. Why not have my texts available on the dash and read to me rather than messing with my phone. Anyway I won't go into the whole thing about safety while you're in your driving and all that. We all know what we should and shouldn't do. Anyways...
I spoke to a salesman who said that this feature was not compatible with the iPhone, only BBs. Of course this didn't impress me and I found it hard to believe that Honda would restrict themselves like that. Anyway, a few searches on the web later and Honda shows that the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 are compatible for receiving texts through the car, just not sending them. I believe you need a minimum of iOS 5+ for it to work though.
Once I found this the salesman and I did some testing with our phones. He has a 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and mine is a 4 with iOS 6.1.3. Initially we setup the phone using the Bluetooth config on the Civic's iMID display. It was setup and hands-free calling tested o.k. Next the texting was tested. Both of us have iMessage turned on. Neither of us could get the messages we would send each other (1 of us had our phone setup with the car, the other sent the text and vice versa). The messages were received by the phones, just not the car). When we would go under the Text Message section, it would say "Unsupported Device". I knew that couldn't be as Honda said it was compatible. After more web searches and a phone call to Honda by the salesman, I found the following.
    1) It seems like the person who had their phone paired with the Civic had to disable iMessage to start getting texts. The salesman still had it enabled on his though when he sent me texts (as SMS) and the Civic got them so both people aren't necessarily required to disable it. Now under the Text Message section, it would list the messages received.
    2) I changed the Notifications on my phone for Messages from Banner to Alerts. Once I did this it started to work. The texts were showing up on the car. I had read where another person had tried this successfully but then changed it back to Banner and it continued to work. I experienced the same thing.
Granted this wasn't extensive testing but I was able to get it to do something closer to what I wanted. I'm not sure why Apple and Honda can't put their heads together to make sending texts work on the car but maybe someday it will work when enough people complain. It's kind of a disappointment that I couldn't get iMessage to work but I haven't given up hope yet. As it's a proprietary protocol, I can see Honda not supporting it though.
    Hope this helps someone out!
    FYI I bought car!

  • Can I forward my text messages from my iphone to my email automatically?

can I forward my text messages from my iphone to my email automatically?

If you mean the settings for iMessages where you can specifiy an email address other people with iMessage can reach you at, that has nothing to do with email. The iMessage still goes to the Messages app and there is no way to autoforward from that app.

  • Nokia 6233 can't receive SMS/text message

My Nokia 6233 stopped receiving SMS/text messages, although I can send messages and receive/make phone calls. I let the battery run flat and then recharged again. It received some messages but stopped receiving messages again a short time later. I must say I have not been letting my battery run flat on a regular basis. Is this the cause? I bought the phone 2 years ago.
I do have 600 plus messages in my phone- is this the cause too?
    Cheers.

I don't think it is a battery issue. The more likely culprit is your memory getting almost full. Try deleting some old unwated messages or any other files. It is probably time to do a spring clean after 2 years.
