Can I avoid changing firefox's options by other software? I mean I hate when some other soft can change my firefox's default search engine and install useless add-ons.
So can I do something with this?

We are working on preventing other program from changing Firefox's preferences. Until then, be careful when you install stuff, don't jsut accept the defaults, but read on what's being changed and use common sense.

hello crash81, the newest version of firefox is firefox 18. please note that using outdated versions of firefox [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html affected by known security vulnerabilities] will put the integrity of your system and all the personal data on it at risk! so in my opinion it's not a good idea to downgrade just for the sake of an addon.
in case you're having issues with the yahoo toolbar please first make sure that you've installed the latest version available or else contact yahoo's support - they can likely give you more detailed guidance and are the only ones who can fix bugs or make necessary adjustments in the addon & i suppose it's also very much in their interest for the toolbar to work in current browser versions. thank you

How can I batch change the view options of multiple playlists?

I would like to select multiple playlists and batch change their view options; seems like an obvious feature that should be there, but it does not seem to be there. I know of Assimilate View Options v2.2 in Doug's AppleScripts, but this is not what I want, since AWO requires you to do the change playlist by playlist, i.e., not in batch mode (and I have hundreds of playlists ...). Can we capture changes made to the objects other than tables using streams

I have setup a schema level streams replication using local capture process. I can capture all the DML changes on tables but have some issues capturing DDL. Even though streams are used for sharing data at different or within a database I was wondering if we can replicate the changes made to the objects like views, procedures, functions and triggers at the source database. I am not able to replicate the changes made to the views in my setup.
Also, when I do a "select source_database,source_object_type,instantiation_scn from dba_apply_instantiated_objects" under the column 'object_type' I just see the TABLE in all the rows selected.

This could be a problem with your rules configured with capture,propagation or apply. Or might be a problem with your instantiation.
You can replicate Functions, Views, Procedure, Triggers etc using Streams Schema level replication or by configuring the rules.
Please note that the objects like Functions, Views, Procedure, Triggers etc will not appear in the DBA_APPLY_INSTANTIATED_OBJECTS view. The reason is because you do a schema level instantiation only the INSTANTIATION_SCN in DBA_APPLY_INSTANTIATED_SCHEMAS is accounted for these objects. At the same time tables would get recursively instantiated and you would see an entry in DBA_APPLY_INSTANTIATED_OBJECTS.
It works fine for me. Please see the below from my database (database is 10.2.0.3):

I have used the above given rules for capture. For propagation I dont have a ruleset itself and for apply I have same rules as of the capture rules.

Can I avoid closing Firefox entirely when "red Xing" a page to get rid of it?

I'm new to Firefox so bear with me......Whenever I use the red x at the top right-hand corner to get rid of a page that doesn't allow me to go back one page, I get a message from Firefox - "Do you want to close all 4 tabs?"......the only answer is "yes". When I click on "yes", I lose the whole Firefox website and have to open it again to continue. This is very annoying. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you.

Tested on Firefox 25 the latest version it give me the warning of closing multiple tabs with the option of cancelation.

How can I permanently change the opacity option when cropping an image?

I can save the crop opacity at say 5%, exit Photoshop 13, and setting has persisted (Edit > Preferences > Display & Cursors > Opacity). However, when I crop a second image without exiting PS, the opacity has returned to 75%. I am cropping some very dark scanned slides, and I need the 5% opacity to see the slide corners and edges.

See if resetting the pse 13 editor preferences makes any difference.
Go to Edit>Preferences>General, click on Reset Preferences on next launch and then restart the pse 13 editor.

CVP Language change (English and option for other Language)

Hi,
Currently in our IP IVR we give our callers the option to switch to spanish. I want to do the same in CVP but I'm not sure how.
I guess I could create an English page and a Spanish page so that if the callers enter the option for Spanish it would "move" the call to the Spanish page in which all prompts are Spanish.
Currently, using IP IVR, our English and Spanish prompts are name the same so we can just send the call back to the beginning and change the Language.
Any ideas are appreciated.

I see three methods:
1. Set the default audio path to something like: http:// address>/
Create a session variable say Lang - Intial value "en-us"
Prompt for Spanish. If they want that, reset Lang="es-es"
All prompts in the application would be set as {Session.data.Lang}/app/my_application/foobar.wav
2. In CVP7 you can start off with Default Audio Path = http:// address>/en-us/my_application/ and use the Application Modifier node to reset the default audio path for Spanish. All prompts would be a WAV file name like foobar.wav
3. make the language selection a microapp - I always use microapps for such simple things - and pass the language in as a session variable which then flows through to the VXML application.
I think what is holding you back is that you did not realize that what goes into an audio element as the WAV file can be a complete URL, or part of a URL that is appended to the Default Audio Path, and you can include Session Variables in this. There is a lot of flexibility here.

How can I avoid showing auto-mounted drives of other logged in users on my desktop?

For both me and my wifes profile on our MBP running OSX Lion I added a shared volume to the login actions (System Preferences - Accounts - [User] - Login).
However when we are both logged in, her personal and my personal share are shown on both our desktops (i enabled showing of shares on the desktop). On my profile I can only access my share and hers is not accessible, vice versa on her profile.
In the finder when connect to the server hosting the share I can not see her share, again vice versa for her profile.
Anybody got any suggestions?

None of the vertical pictures will import. I don't even get the black screens so can't even try the edit option that others suggest. Sounds like we all have to report it to apple to get a fix?????

I Cannot import any vertical pictures. I don't even get a black screen and therefore can't edit. After downloading from the camera the vertices pictures show with a red ! And won't import. Sounds like we all have to report this to apple ....but anyone had same issue and how can I fix, we are on trip and need to clear the camera for more photos.

A company ignores its customers requirements at its peril. You just have to remember VHS vs BetaMax - BetaMax was far superior but it is no more. So with all the above I reckon that as long as I do not have any problems that require re-installing the Adobe software then I am good for the next 10 years

10 years of updating Edius, Hitfilm, or even subscribing to Lightworks (10 years at $60 per year, you do the math)

How can I avoid query result overlapping in Analysis for Office?

Hello everybody
I have a question relating to Analysis for Office. If I've a workbook with for example two queries, how can I avoid that the query above the other one overlaps the query results of the lower query?
The lower query result should adapt according the the query results of the first query.
Does anybody have an idea? In Bex Analyzer I have the Option to insert a scrollbar for a workbook- is this function available in Analysis für Office? (But that way isn't the way I prefer).

I can't get Firefox to allow pop ups - changed setting in options but still blocking pop ups

I have tried to allow pop ups by changing preferences in options but Firefox is not allowing the pop up windows. It used to work before but I can't understand why it won't work now.

Under "Content" in Options, you have UNchecked "Block pop-up windows", yet you still don't see any popups? Can you give us an example of a site that is not showing pop-ups despite you turning the feature off?

How can I avoid that a virus read out all passwords memoried by Firefox? It was happend two weeks ago!

My children where using some web sites about games to solve some problems. During this use a virus came via web interface into my desktop. My virus scanner shows this but could not avoid that this virus read out all my accounts memorized in Firefox and sent it into dark channels.
I could restore the way how my accounts leave my Desktop. There was some accounts only memorized into Firefox inclusive passoword. These accounts would used from other persons in the meantime.
My questions are:
- How save are the memorized accounts-password combinations?
- And: Is it possible that the Firefox Sync Account can transfer the virus from PC to PC by using the same Sync-Account? Or can I be sure that all other Firefox installations at other PSs will be clean after this attack at one Firefox-Installation during all installations use the same Sync-Account? What this question means in background: Via Sync can Plugins be installed at other systems. What happens, when a virus install a special virus-plugin? Would Sync it move to all other PCs?

If you are using Sync to sync passwords then you likely aren't using a Master Password to protect the password.

If you suspect such a virus infection then you should cleanup your computer and change all the compromised passwords immediately.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
