Can I backup photos and music to the icloud

Hi linwood02,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
See these links for some good information about what's backed up by iCloud:
iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519
Here’s what iCloud backs up:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and booksYour iCloud backup includes information about the content you have purchased, but not the purchased content itself. When you restore from an iCloud backup, your purchased content is automatically downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore based on iTunes in the Cloud availability by country. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the store.

hi , i want to see all my photos and other throo the icloud in the computer how i can do it ?

Well, the obvious advice is to restore your mac's backup to the new drive - I assume you've been using Time Machine.
If you haven't been backing up the mac, then ...
For photos, sync the iphone to the mac vis iTunes/USB and get the photos back into iPhone on the mac.  Getting back the itunes is another problem.  You can look for mac apps that read an iOS device and copy songs to the mac.  But that won't get back all the other information that iTunes used to have.  Again, only a backup would restore all that data.  As for purchased items from the iTunes store, use the mac and connect to the store via itunes and check the purchased tab or link.  There you can redownload all purchased music and other items.

  • TS4036 how do i backup photos and music from my computer to icloud

How do I backup photos and music to icloud to download to my iphone4s or ipad.  Not having any luck transferring by direct connect

You can redownload music purchased from iTunes as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.  Music from other sources can only be accessed from iCloud if you subscribe to iTunes Match.
Photos can be transferred by putting them in a folder, then selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  Or, you can transfer them over wifi by using an app like PhotoSync.  To stream them with iCloud, you have to set up iCloud on your computer as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html, enable photo stream, then add photos as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2606.

  • I SET UP THE HOME SHARING ON MY COMPUTER, AND i CAN STREAM MY PHOTOS AND SEE ALL THE VIDEOS AND LISTEN SONGS IN MY ITUNES, BUT CAN NOT DO HOME SHARING, ON THE TV, ALWAYS SHOWS "TURN ON HOME SHARING ON YOUR OMPUTER WITH YOUR ID WHICH I DID BUT NOTHING HELP

I just bought my apple tv yesterday and SET UP THE HOME SHARING ON MY COMPUTER, I CAN STREAM MY PHOTOS AND SEE ALL THE VIDEOS AND LISTEN SONGS IN MY ITUNES, BUT CAN NOT DO HOME SHARING, ON THE TV, ALWAYS SHOWS "TURN ON HOME SHARING ON YOUR OMPUTER WITH YOUR ID WHICH I DID BUT NOTHING HAPPEN. WHAT'S WRONG? WHAT SHALL I DO NOW?

I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem.  The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6.  (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time!

  • Can I store photos and music in I cloud and relieve space on my hard drive?

can I store photos and music in I cloud and relieve space on my hard drive?

No, iCloud is not a storage device, try Dropbox or Sugarsync.

  • I can't sync photos and music to my iPad afternoon updated to ISO5

After updating to IOS5, i can't upload my photos and music to my dad's iPad.  My and my mom's iPhone 4 are OK.  We just have problem with my dad's iPad.
I just updated it to 5.0.1, it's still not working.
    Anyone has the same problem?
    And can anyone help?
Sorry, I'm not sure how to search this forum, if this question has been asked and answered, can someone tell me how to search the forum.
    Thank you very much.

I loaded the photos through iTunes from iPhoto, the folder is on my computer in iPhotos. And still checked in iTunes.  Here is the exact message I get when I click on "Synch Music":
Are you sure you want to sync music? All existing content on the iPhone “Arthur Fenster’s iPhone” will be removed and replaced with songs and playlists from your iTunes library.
Maybe I am misinterpreting but it sounds like "existing content" means the photos, which can be put back on but then I suspect the music will be replaced.

  • How can I retrieve photos and music I deleted "secure empty trash"?  accidentally?

I deleted downloads and accidentally it removed all my photos and music.
I retrieved all purchased music but not the rest.

If you secure erased it, it is gone. Incidentally, the system does not "accidentally" remove anything. You need to specifically select things to be deleted.

  • I just discovered that I can't load photos and music to my iPhone.

I have loaded a bunch of photos of my recent trip to my new iPhone only to find out that I can't load music to the phone without erasing the photos. Is there a workaround  to this?

  • I have a Time Capsule with the internal disk drive. I have copied my photos and music to the internal drive. Is it possible to access the photos etc. using my Apple Tv to see it on my TV, iPads etc? on my home WIFI.

I have loaded my Time Capsule with my photos, videos, music etc. I want to access these using my Apple TV on my home WIFI for display on my tv's, and Ipads, Has anyone figured out a way to do this? I can do it by access to my Macbook but that's not always convenient.

If the light will not turn on the TC is dead. No matter that the hard disk is running.. it should only run at start up or when it is accessed not constantly.. that means the board in the TC has failed. Apple do not repair them.. They will replace it under warranty or applecare.
If you have gone over the 12month warranty it will still be covered if you have applecare on any computer or an Apple TV. In fact the cost of the apple TV plus apple care is still cheaper than buying a new TC.. so it is a route some people are taking.. certainly depends.. in some places like Europe or Australia now, there is a recognition that statutory warranty must be longer on a product that is premium to the market. 12months is not good enough. Apple will sometimes listen.
They might be fixable but I do not know how.

  • How can I have podcasts and music in the same playlist in iOS7?

How can I create an iTunes playlist that contains both music and podcasts and export that playlist to my iPhone? This was once possible. If you download the "Podcast" app, podcasts can still be added  to iTunes playlist which you can listen to on your Mac. But when you sync that playlist to iPhone, it will omit all of the podcasts.
Previously, the workaround was not to download the Pocast app. That way, podcasts remained in iTunes where they could still exist in with music in the same playlist. But as of iOS7, you are required to install the "Podcasts" to be able listen to podcast at all. No more workaround.
Why does this matter? Some people, like me want to drive or exercise while listening to a mix of music and podcasts. Apple's "improvements" have restricted the way that I am able to use iTunes.
I can only think of these solutions:
Convert the podcast into AAC or other format. Then iTunes sees it as "music" and it will stay in the playlist. Cons: 1. Burdensome. 2. Removes the resume feature from the podcast.
Use a different iPhone app. Spotify lets you drag any track (even podcasts) into a playlist and they stay there when synced to the Spotify iPhone app. Cons: 1. Requires Spotify premium service to listen to playlists on iPhone. 2. The resume feature is removed. 3. Very difficult to forward and rewind. 4. Some podcasts are rejected by the Spotify playlist, although its rare. 5. After being imported, the tracked need to be synced to the phone via WiFi (as with all tracks that are not offered via Spotify.)
I am using the Spotify solution but am interested to know if there is an Apple solution. Or maybe I am the only one that wants to mix podcasts with music.

  • Can i play podcast and music at the same time

i have a suffle 3g and I want to use it for running.  I want the instructions from the couch to 5k podcast but with my own playlist?  is this possible

You should be able to plug in the computer and go. The Mac will automatically switch over to the cabled connection.
You don't need a static ip address for each computer. They will show up just as before.

Hi duongtt! Sorry to hear you have a problem with BFM. Can you please send me the error logs so I can forward them to the development crew. Here’s how to get error logs from Sony Bridge for Mac:
    1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
    2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...

    4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip

  • HT1766 Can I backup manually and leave off the apps ?

I believe I need to perform a reset to the factory default and know I need to backup my iphone first.  When restore the backup I would like to leave off the apps.  Can you restore bit by bit and not automatically restore the apps ?  Thanks for any tips.

Makes sense to me so I'm not exactly sure what you're confused about. This clearly states that contacts are part of the backup in order to preserve recent calls and favorites.
Well, let's start by emphasizing the back half of the same sentence you quoted:
    * Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists.
Why would Apple even need to include the end of that sentence, and not simply end it at "Your contacts are part of the backup."?  What does that last part really mean to you?  By adding that last statement, it could easily be interpreted to mean as "the only aspect of your contacts that are recovered are those you've designated as favorites, and those who you've recently called".  If this is so clear to you, please explain what Apple meant by that last part.
    Papciak84 wrote:
Your comment of "Apple only claims to save your Favorites and recent call history, that's all" is wrong and you need to learn to read.
Please, no need for the snarky reply.  We're all here to learn, and help others.
