Can I bluetooth my blackberry to get Internet on my iPad

Can I tether my blackberry to my iPad2 via Bluetooth (or cable) to get Internet access?

I was able to tether my iPad 2 to my friend's iPhone 4. I am not able to tether my iPad 2 to my Blackberry. I have a jailbroken iPod Touch 4 that I can tether using iBluever.
If Apple seriously doesn't want people to jailbreak their devices, it is advisable for them to allow the iPad to be tethered to any device that will allow a 3G connection... but as of this writing, I believe that the iPad 2's tethering is done with some proprietary mechanism that doesn't allow the iPad 2 to be tethered to anything but an iPhone.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I'd be very happy to be wrong, and then I'd stop googling "iPad 2 jailbreak 4.3.1" every few days.

Only if the Backberry and the cellular provider allows the Blackberry to be set up as a wifi hotspot.

You download apps from the Apple AppStore.

  • Can't get internet on my Ipad and Iphone

    Hi,
I just got a new Time Capsule. It is now connected to my TIME WARNER CABLE modem and I am able to get wireless internet on my Mac. However I can't get internet on my iphone and ipad. Althought the light is green and everything seems to be fine. Any clues?

If you have not yet done a full modem reset, that would be the first step to perform.
Push the reset button on the modem (If present) and then power it off
Pull the battery from the modem (if easily accessible)
Power down every other device you have....order is not important
Wait for at least 30 minutes.
Make sure that the Ethernet cable from the modem is plugged into the WAN port (circle icon) on the Time Capsule
Power up the modem and let it run 4-5 minutes by itself
Power up the Time Capsule the same way
Power up each other networkdevice one at a time about a minute spart
    Check for proper operation

  • How can one get internet on an Ipad where there is no WiFi?

My daughter bought a new Ipad and gave away her laptop right before she moved to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. It turns out there is virtually no wi-fi in the city; everyone uses a USB stick or some other way to get internet. Is there something she can buy so that she can still use her Ipad for internet access? If not, it is a completely useless there...
    Thanks!!

If she doesn't want to get an iPad with 3G, she could use her iPhone or similar as a Wi-Fi Hotspot or buy a Mifi device:

  • I want to get internet on my iPad how do I do it

Okay so I can connect to the wifi but if I am not somewhere with wifi.   I still want internet on my iPad so I can get on Facebook and stuff Ike that.

If there's no wifi around then you need to look into a device like a Mifi, which is a portable wifi transmitter that you use to make a hotspot that you connect your iPad to. This will require a data plan with a wireless provider.
If your iPad is a wifi/cellular one then you need to look into a data plan with the wireless provider of your choice

  • How to get internet on your ipad without having to hook up a ub cord to your computer

How do you get internet access on your ipad without having to hook up your ub cord to the computer

    iPad is a WiFi and/or 3G device.
In order to use it as the wireless device it was intended, the easiest methods are either buy a WiFi router and if your computer is lacking any type of WiFi capability, you hook up your Internet connection directly to the router, then another wired Ethernet connection to your computer.
You'll need to configure the router via the supplied software for your computer or supplied instructions.
Once the router is set up, you should be able to turn on the wifi connection in the Settings app on your iPad.
Your iPad should see the new wifi signal. Follow any instructions that follow to allow you to connect to the WiFi signal and you should be good to go to be able to use the internet and check your email wirelessly on your iPad.
If you computer has WiFi capability already, instead of purchasing a router, you can purchase an Apple Airport Express. Plug it in to the wall, hook your internet connection to this. Install the Airport Express software to your computer. Configure the AE and your computer to pick up the AE Wifi signals via both the AE software and network software on your computer.
This way both your computer and iPad can share the wifi signal from the Airport Express.
If you own a Mac, there is a an easy procedure for setting up and using an Airport Express with both iPad and Mac.

  • I had my iphone 3gs unlocked so i could use it in Oz, however although i can phone works ok, i cant get internet, but i the option of Cellular Data Network does not appear with the new sim? Can anyone help pls?

Hi Just wondered if anyone can help with the above question? I had O2 phone unlocked and bought a local sim card, but although the calls are fine i have no option for internet etc.  I have done searches and got the info details from the sim provider to activate, but  instructions say i go to : Settings; General; Network and then Celluar Data Network, but I dont get that option ?  When i put back my O2 sim card, the option reappears?
Can anyone help me please? Off to Australia again soon and really could do with it working properly this time.
    Thanks everyone
    Ronnie

Hi Ronnie, was wondering what brand sim card you bought?
Was it from Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Virgin or Mayasim?
I have a 4 S running iOS 5.01 is there an option in Settings - Network - Carrier? As this should be set to the supplier of the sim card. In my Settings - Network there is no option for Celluar Data Network.
What version of the iOS are you using?
Some prepaid sim cards may not have a lot of data, so I suggest searching the companies websites for the best deals before you come here. Telstra usually have good plans. If you take your phone to the shop you purchased the sim card from they will usually set it up for you.
Telstra runs on a different frequency to others and offers the best coverage in Australia.
Just for the record I am not an employee of any mobile company.

  • Can i use my blackberry as an internet source for my ipod touch?

i just purchased the ipod touch and do not have internet at home. all other wifi connections available are locked. i have internet on my blackberry and wondered how i can use that connection.

Is your Printer is a Wireless Printer or its an Normal USP port Printer ?
If your printer is an Normal USB Port printer then you need to buy a Print Server ( WPS54G or WPSM54G). So once you configure your Print server you will be able to Print from all your computers Wired / Wirelessly.

  • Jetpack 5510l has no wifi signal - can only connect via usb to get Internet.

Bought this device on a Thursday and it worked flawlessly - until Saturday.  The device has had a consistent connection to Verizon, but on Saturday the wifi began to 'go out.'  The device showed everything was working, but the wifi radio seems to have just turned off (after intermittently failing for a period of a couple hours).  We tried several different devices, none showed a working wifi signal coming from the mifi by the end of the day.
What we have done so far:
    Rebooted.
Removed battery (after shutting down), restarted.
    Used hard-reset button.
Used web intefrace to turn wifi on and off - and on, changed ssid, passphrase, reset again (after each phase we also gave it an hour to see if the signal would return).
Nothing has gotten the wifi from the device back online - it's as if either the radio or wifi antenna is completely broken.  We attempt to connect using 3 or 4 different devices - so it is most certainly the mifi.  There are no errors from the device - is there a debug / test mode?
Our current workaround is to connect via usb to a Macbook and just share the internet connection - which works great, but makes travel a bit more difficult if a computer has to be connected to allow us to have a wifi signal (not from the mifi).
    Regards.

Taking the Jetpack apart is going to void your warranty.  I would not suggest going down that road until your warranty is up.  Instead give VZW a call and have them ship you a replacement under the warranty service agreement. You have done a perfect job of isolating the problem to a wifi radio issue.  Its easy to recreate and confirm which will make the phone call fairly quick.  Unless you got sold on some kind of Best Buy warranty and prefer to go through them, VZW is going to be your best bet at getting a speedy replacement.

  • Can I use my blackberry as a modem for my iPad cellular?

I'm not sure on how the iPad cellular uses its 3g functionality.
Do I need to insert my phone sim card into the iPad everytime I want to connect to the web using the 3g network?
    or
Can the iPad use my blackberry phone as a modem to connect to the internet?
(my blackberry is 3g and has modem functionality)
    Thanks.

If your device supports mobile hotshot (which is not a modem) then you can use that.  But if you are using an 8520 you do not have that feature.

  • Can I circumvent Office firewall dto get email on my iPad?

While I can connect to the network and surf the web, my office firewall doesn't allow me to retrieve email on the built-in mail application. Only webmail is accessible. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get around this limitation. Thank you!

Doubtful if anyone here can provide you a workaround to bypass your company's policy in this regard. If you have a wi-fi+3G iPad, you can access your email account when connected to the internet via the cellular network instead. If not, webmail access is your only option when connected to the internet via your employer's wi-fi network.

  • Can I recycle an iPod to get 10% off an iPad?

I am looking into buying an iPad 2 after my iPod touch suffered being put through the washer machine and dryer. I wanted to know if I could recycle my iPod touch and recieve 10% off a purchase of an iPad since they are essentially the same product except one is much larger. Could someone please answer this question for me I do not want to pay the full price for the Pad when there are available savings.
    Thanks

So it would prolly be the best thing to call ahead and confirm? They are going to get my money in the end and also recycle the product properly so it should be a win-win situation.
