Can I bookmark pages in my ebooks?

I am using Readdle where I upload my pdf files so I can read them, but is there a way to bookmark the books? I have to scroll to page 115 every time I open the book. Anyone uses this as well?

Yes you can, but not the iPad version. There is a Mac OS X version tht is part of the iWork suite.

Even after resetting Firefox, I can't bookmark pages, what can I do?

Recently I am unable to create new bookmarks. It seemed to happen after the most recent Firefox update but it could be a coincidence. There is no maware or adware on my computer so I don't believe it is related to that kind of issue. I tried basic things like deleting my cache, cookies, ect. but nothing happened. I restarted my computer and Firefox multiple times and still nothing. Finally I looked it up in your forums and tried a few different things; starting Firefox in safe mode and then trying to create bookmarks, deleting the 'prefs.js' file, and even resetting Firefox. I read one forum that recommended that I check the 'places.sqlite' for corruption but I'm not sure how to do that. I did, however, confirm that the file was not marked as read only. I saw that I could delete certain files butt I wasn't sure which files were okay to delete without losing my bookmarks. I don't mind losing any of my preferences, but my bookmarks on Firefox are the one thing I need to keep. Please let me know how I can resolve this issue. Thank you.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Do you mean you want to add a bookmark or do you just want the pdf to open to the last page you were reading?
If the latter, go to Edit>Preferences>Documents>Open settings and check "Restore last view settings when reopening documents".

Can't bookmark certain web pages. I press Ctrl-D and the "Bookmark this page" dialogue box does not appear.

For example: If I open the home page of The New York Times and press Cntrl-D, the bookmark dialogue box appears but pressing "done" has no effect, the bookmark is not saved. If I go to a page with a particular article, then the bookmark function does not even appear. At first i thought this had something to do with the web site, but that isn't the problem. I just can't bookmark anything. On some pages the dialogue box appears and on others it doesn't, but the result is the same everywhere: zilch.
And here is something really strange: when i press Cntrl-D on the Firefox start page, the bookmark dialogue box appears with "Board of Education" in the page title field. What is ''that'' all about?
I have tried all manner of fixes: deleting "places.sqlite" and "localstore.rdf" files, operating in "safe mode", disabling add-ons, re-installing Firefox, etc. etc.. Nothing seems to work. I am running the latest version of Zone Alarm Security Suite. It has an advanced browser security function that includes virtualization. I tried disabling the browser security option, but this did not solve the problem, although I still suspect that Zone Alarm could be the culprit somehow (it often is). \
Any and all ideas will be welcome as I am fresh out.

The problem with bookmarking (which I thought I had eliminated with a clean reinstall) has returned after a Firefox update.

A scan with Malwarebytes did not detect any malware. Not in normal mode, not in safe mode.
And look at the solutions offered by st4dog and jimcou: they each deleted different registry values to get rid of XULRunner.
My problem remains as it was: I don't want to mess with my registry unless I know ''exactly'' what I am looking for (deleting). At least my PC is running, and scans with Malwarebytes, SpyBot SD, Pest Patrol and Zone Alarm AV reveal no infections. If I screw up the registry I think I'll be in a lot worse shape.
Again, until I have ''specific'' instructions on how to get rid of this thing I guess I'll just have to be content with using IE if I want to do any bookmarking.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

The arrow on the bar drops down 5 recent folders to which pages have been saved, but the pop down arrow to the right of the bar just opens to show the three categories and 'New Folder' button. To all, embarrassingly enough, I have discovered that I didn't know how to expand the three categories including 'Bookmarks Menu' in the 'Bookmark This Page' pop up interface. It was expanded by default on the initial Firefox opening and first page bookmark attempt. Next use it only showed categories. I clicked and double clicked the 'Bookmarks Menu' line, but failed to see the small, shaded triangle used to expand/collapse list. If it appears collapsed, just tap triangle at left of line to see all folders. It seems to open the same way after I do it for first time. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for all the attempts to help.

Click the star at the right end side of the location bar once to bookmark the current site and click the highlighted star a second time to open the "Edit This Bookmark" window and move the bookmark to another folder or edit the name.

Minimized Cover Flow on Bookmarks page and now can't get it back

On the Bookmarks page, I moved the Cover Flow section up so that it disappeared. When I tried to show it again by moving the cursor from the top to bottom of the area is originally displayed, the CF section fails to reappear. How to get it back?

Good gracious. I was able to do that to myself in the course of seeing if I could replicate the problem.
After some swearing and cursing, I managed to get the Cover Flow back showing again in Bookmarks by rebuilding my com.apple.Safari plist file, as per the instructions in the following user tip:
